I’m not sure if it’s just me but Verizon fios has been horrible the last few days. The internet keeps dropping and customer “support” is no help. Have you guys been having issues? And mainly would you guys recommend switching to optimum
I'm a parent of a 4-year-old preschooler who isnt fully potty trained in the sense that he needs help with wiping to completion so he is clean. He's a slow learner. His little hands can't reach.
Before the start of this school year in August, I checked if the child needs to be potty trained to attend and I came across a toileting State memo stating that the school district must have trained staff to be able to assist with wiping and if they don't, the school district needs to contact their insurance company to hire train staff. 2 months later and many many many many many calls to various people the school refused to acknowledge this memo. And all day it is in the teachers contracts not to touch the child.
I spoke with The board of Education early learners department, the director of Pre-K confirmed that this memo is a law and it needs to be followed and she contacted the district and I got one call the second day of the school year from the assistant superintendent which that call did not go well at all and he was pointing the finger at me stating that they don't have anybody and they don't need anybody.
Since September I have tried many, many many times contacting the district to speak directly with the superintendent which he has never contacted me
I have contacted the board of trustees who said it's not their problem.
Boces who said they can't help
Special education department as my son has an IEP for OT services they refused to do anything about it.
The teachers, principle secretary all are incompetent and all say they can't do anything.
Contacted supervisors in different departments for special Ed, directors, and so forth and I have hit dead end.
I don't want my son constantly sitting in poop when he needs assistance to help clean. He tries his best to clean but everyday his underwears are soiled and poop stains and nobody does anything.
Don't know what else is there to do.
Yonkers school district and staff is completely horrendous
Hi guys. I grew up on Randolph Street in SW Yonkers. I lived there from 75-91. I was looking on a map, showing someone where I grew up, and noticed the neighborhood is called “Loweree.” I have never heard it called this once in my life. We just called it South West or PS 13. It wasn’t quite Park Hill. Not fancy enough. It’s basically where McLean Ave & S Broadway connect @ Romain block north of Radford. My question: How is “Loweree” pronounced? Thanks - it’s driving me nuts!
Anyone from that area in the 80’s?

NUG dispensary is having their grand opening this Saturday with the mayor cutting the ribbon. Would be awesome for the community to partake in the festivities. First 100 customers are going to get a goodie bag. Stoked for this :)
I got an excess of printed paper proxy cards. For parents or players who want to try playing with proxy cards before buying the actual cards. These won't be competitive, but I can kludge these into "casual competitive" decks.
FOR FREE.
These are printed paper proxies taped to energy cards. I'd recommend sleeving them.
I've made a few, anyone know of any clubs/after school programs or anyplace that'll want them
Sure they're printed fakes glued to actual cards, but they're half-playable :P.
I was thinking of sending them to the Greenburgh/WP libraries, but dunno who/how to ask, and same with the WP Hospital.
Or if anyone wants some for themselves or know a group that might want some, let me know.

I’ve searched & read around on yonkers.gov and haven’t found what I’m looking for. I’d like to get ahold of the laws or ordinances for residential parking.
It might sound strange but I need to prove to my neighbor, who lacks common sense, that anyone who lives on our street can park anywhere on our street, providing it’s legal.
This neighbor is harassing my family & several other neighbors about parking in front of his house, which is sometimes the only parking spot available.
I found lots of info, but nothing stating the obvious fact that it’s legal to park anywhere on public roadways, as long as you’re not breaking a law or regulation.
Any ideas or links might be helpful
EDIT: I posted more details about this neighbor on r/neighborsfromhell, one of them is that we suspect he has been keying cars in front of his house, and one witness saw him punching a car there. So this post here was to ask for help finding city ordinances, which will be just one aspect of our retaliation.
Does anyone recommend an arborist that works in Yonkers? I’ve got some trees that need some maintenance.
Just curious because I passed by the building today and remembered taking my nieces to a basketball clinic by a local group and man was did the place have a gloomy feel to it. I'm surprised it was not torn down and the land given to LionsGate.
Is there much of anything outside of basketball happening at this spot anymore?
Hello!
We are currently recruiting young adults aged 18-30 to take part in our no-cost sleep coaching study. The purpose of this study is to test whether specialized sleep coaching sessions that focus on the science of habit formation can help people who have difficulty getting to sleep at night, difficulty waking up or getting out of bed in the morning, and feel sleepy during the day. We are hoping that this research study will result in a sleep treatment that will help many people who have these types of sleep problems.
This study is really exciting because we’re offering free sleep coaching with therapists who have specialized training in sleep therapy at UC Berkeley. This is a unique opportunity to get access to no-cost sleep coaching for those struggling with their sleep. Eligible individuals will receive compensation for completing each part of the study (four 60-90 minute Zoom interviews, 7 days of wearing a sleep watch, and 7 days of completing online surveys). Additional information provided upon phone screening. The study is entirely remote.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact us by email at sleepteamucb@gmail.com, or via phone at (510) 473-6490. You can find more information about our lab and this study at the following link: https://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ahsleep/gbsmrc_mock/sleep-habits-study/
Does anyone know where I can get a hurling stick in the Yonkers area? 🇮🇪
Hi everyone! I’m going to be new to Yonkers sometime in the next coming months. On the side of town near Getty Square.
Does anyone have recommendations for living in Yonkers? Any food or breweries I can’t miss? Any affordable gyms in town? Anyone know of a place to develop photos or buy film?
I’m going to be a frequent commuter to NYC, but I’d still love to know what’s around in the community!
So I’ve been driving for 6 years clean record but today I got a ticket for 86 in a 55. I honestly can’t even believe I was going that fast, I could’ve swore I never went over 75. The cop was really nice though and he told me that I could plead not guilty. Now I’m getting mixed opinions. Some people are telling me to get a lawyer off OfftheRecord and they’ll do a good job to atleast reduce my ticket to 0 points but I’ll have to pay a fine. Other people are telling me when they showed up to the Yonkers court house with no lawyer they were able to get their tickets reduced since it was their first ticket. Also idk if this helps at all but the cop wrote the wrong vehicle make for my ticket. I’m cool with paying a 1 time fine but I really would hate to have my insurance go up and for there to be points on my license. Idk what to do but I would appreciate any guidance.
