I’ve searched & read around on yonkers.gov and haven’t found what I’m looking for. I’d like to get ahold of the laws or ordinances for residential parking.
It might sound strange but I need to prove to my neighbor, who lacks common sense, that anyone who lives on our street can park anywhere on our street, providing it’s legal.
This neighbor is harassing my family & several other neighbors about parking in front of his house, which is sometimes the only parking spot available.
I found lots of info, but nothing stating the obvious fact that it’s legal to park anywhere on public roadways, as long as you’re not breaking a law or regulation.
Any ideas or links might be helpful
EDIT: I posted more details about this neighbor on r/neighborsfromhell, one of them is that we suspect he has been keying cars in front of his house, and one witness saw him punching a car there. So this post here was to ask for help finding city ordinances, which will be just one aspect of our retaliation.
Does anyone recommend an arborist that works in Yonkers? I’ve got some trees that need some maintenance.
Just curious because I passed by the building today and remembered taking my nieces to a basketball clinic by a local group and man was did the place have a gloomy feel to it. I'm surprised it was not torn down and the land given to LionsGate.
Is there much of anything outside of basketball happening at this spot anymore?

Hello!
We are currently recruiting young adults aged 18-30 to take part in our no-cost sleep coaching study. The purpose of this study is to test whether specialized sleep coaching sessions that focus on the science of habit formation can help people who have difficulty getting to sleep at night, difficulty waking up or getting out of bed in the morning, and feel sleepy during the day. We are hoping that this research study will result in a sleep treatment that will help many people who have these types of sleep problems.
This study is really exciting because we’re offering free sleep coaching with therapists who have specialized training in sleep therapy at UC Berkeley. This is a unique opportunity to get access to no-cost sleep coaching for those struggling with their sleep. Eligible individuals will receive compensation for completing each part of the study (four 60-90 minute Zoom interviews, 7 days of wearing a sleep watch, and 7 days of completing online surveys). Additional information provided upon phone screening. The study is entirely remote.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact us by email at sleepteamucb@gmail.com, or via phone at (510) 473-6490. You can find more information about our lab and this study at the following link: https://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ahsleep/gbsmrc_mock/sleep-habits-study/
Does anyone know where I can get a hurling stick in the Yonkers area? 🇮🇪
Hi everyone! I’m going to be new to Yonkers sometime in the next coming months. On the side of town near Getty Square.
Does anyone have recommendations for living in Yonkers? Any food or breweries I can’t miss? Any affordable gyms in town? Anyone know of a place to develop photos or buy film?
I’m going to be a frequent commuter to NYC, but I’d still love to know what’s around in the community!
So I’ve been driving for 6 years clean record but today I got a ticket for 86 in a 55. I honestly can’t even believe I was going that fast, I could’ve swore I never went over 75. The cop was really nice though and he told me that I could plead not guilty. Now I’m getting mixed opinions. Some people are telling me to get a lawyer off OfftheRecord and they’ll do a good job to atleast reduce my ticket to 0 points but I’ll have to pay a fine. Other people are telling me when they showed up to the Yonkers court house with no lawyer they were able to get their tickets reduced since it was their first ticket. Also idk if this helps at all but the cop wrote the wrong vehicle make for my ticket. I’m cool with paying a 1 time fine but I really would hate to have my insurance go up and for there to be points on my license. Idk what to do but I would appreciate any guidance.
Luke Sweeney Vice Chair of the Westchester Young Republicans has been accused of sexual misconduct by young women. The alleged incidents took place during 2023. It has also been reported that Yonkers Republican City Committee Vice Chair Devin O'Rouke was aware of the incidents and ignored them.
Luke Sweeney is a campaign consultant for many Republican politicians, including Congressman Mike Lawler, Yonkers Councilman Michael B.Breen, and Candidate John Issacs. Luke Sweeney is a Yonkers City Hall employee reporting to Councilman Michael B. Breen. He was mentored by Steve Tvert who also received harassment allegations in separate incidents.Affidavits
Looking to move from the Bronx and we found a nice apartment in ravine avenue just wondering what’s the surrounding area like around there?
Hi! I'm writing an article about the Cosmopolitan Race, one of the very first auto races in the U.S. (1896) for a magazine. The race began in Manhattan, proceeded to Kingsbridge, then went up Broadway through Yonkers and several other towns through Irvington. The accounts from that time say that some of the cars began to develop trouble in Yonkers on "Peabody Hill." Does anyone know where that might have been?
Need a recommendation for primary care physicians who work well with athletes and physically active persons. I’m an older athlete who needs a care provider who considers and understands the effects of exercise on the body when problem solving. Suggestions?

Long shot here for long time residents: Growing up (80s/90s), my grandmother would always treat me to a chocolate chip cookie from Lincoln Park Bakery on McLean Ave. They were big cookies and not 'traditional' chocolate chip. They were lighter in color, crumblier in texture, and the chips were smaller than a usual chocolate chip cookie. They were my absolute favorite. Does anyone else remember these cookies?
Anyway, since they closed, I have been searching for a place and/or recipe that's similar-to no avail. The closest I've found are chocolate chip cookies at Mexican bakeries, but they aren't the same texture and have the chocolate chips on the top of the cookie vs baked inside. I'm currently 6 months pregnant and having some intense nostalgia cravings, so figured I'd defer to Reddit for help in this search. TY in advance
The subframe/engine cradle in my 2000 CRV is rotting and needs to be fixed. I was told that I can get it welded but I’d prefer to buy a new subframe and have it replaced instead. Would anyone know of an auto body shop in Yonkers or Westchester that can do this job?
I would like to give a big thank you to the conductor on the Metro North. I dropped my wallet last week, late at night on the Hudson line going to Croton Harmon. I realized I had dropped my wallet on the train when I got to my car. I filed a lost and found report online. I went to the lost and found office this morning in Grand Central they had my wallet all in tact. Made me feel happy 😁.
