New watcher here, I'm 32 minutes into episode 8 season 1, and I'm wondering am I even supposed to like John Dutton? This is my first experience where the main character appears to be deliberately unlikeable, and quite frankly the same with all the other main characters. Don't get me wrong, I find the show enjoyable, binge-able even, but it's the first show I've bothered to watch that nearly every character does the most deplorable things and I can root for no one. Although I do really feel for the Dutton children having been raised by monsters.
Is it going to stream on Peacock or not? What exactly are the streaming options here? I've googled this for an embarrassingly long time and can't get a singular answer.
Seriously was it intentional? Monica serves more of a purpose on the show than Abby does. She’s just the absolute biggest waste of screen time every moment she’s on.
Just sharing my opinion after finishing season 1.Overall the show is really good. There was a little too much politics in the first season for me , really hoping this lightens up a little.Kayce is by far my favorite so far.He just feels like a relatable character definitely needs some growth though. Beth and Jamie I absolutely cannot stand.Beth may be the biggest bitch on the planet and Jamie Is just not likable to me in any way shape or form. I don’t mind Rip I do get a little tired of the I’m toughest guy on the planet thing but overall not bad. Jimmy has the most development so far and it’s been enjoyable watching him grow. I like John even though it makes it very clear that he’s a horrible person he reminds me a lot of my dad for better or worse.
Alright, so I’ve been trying to piece together all the developments in terms of Shwartzs & Meyers acquisitions of land handled by Beth that got subsequently acquired by Market Equities which then passed on to Beth when she took the job and then there is this scene after she got fired where she’s trying to broker a deal with the Market Equities competitor

Can someone explain what’s happening here and do the numbers actually make any sense within the continuity? Also, I remember Yellowstone not losing any land, the land needed for the airport was leased to ME by Jaimie, so if you guys would be able to structure this up, I’d appreciate it
I’m sure the answer to this is just lazy writing but when you’re branded you are suppose to stay on the ranch forever right? Well in the flashbacks, when Rip is a kid there are lots of cowboys but outside of Lloyd none of them are still around. So where are all the old wranglers??
In episode one when they go to get the cattle back from the reservation and they fly the helicopter over the field Robert shoots at the helicopter unprompted and shoots Lee in the back. I guess I'm just confused as why Robert was so hostile. I wish we could have had more of a back story to it to understand why Robert dislikes Kayce and shoot Lee in the back other then the cattle that were involved. Edit- fixed a name I spelt wrong
I have been reading through many of the recent posts regarding the second half of season 5 and all the talk about Jamie, KC, and Beth. My question is, what about Rainwater and Moe? I would love to see Rainwater come out of this as a winner. How about everyone else?????
Just finished the episode where she gives him the "cowboying in Texas or me" ultimatum and it felt exactly like Mia right before Jimmy left for Texas all over again (though Abby was at least less insensitive and more gentle about it).
Something for Yellowstone fans - we've got a funny little audio parody series going called "Yellowbelly." It's not crude, it's not mean, it's just funny (and no commercials!). We love Yellowstone as much as anybody, and we think fans will get a kick out of a comedy take on it. We just posted the fourth compilation of episodes. You can hear them all at https://www.spoofpodcast.com/
And we'd love to hear your feedback on it!
I think I’m going to pack it in. I really enjoyed the early seasons, but it got gradually more and more ridiculous. I was on the fence with season 4, but now having seen the opening episode of season 5 and the storyline with Monica and Kayce and the car crash… Why?!
Idk rez laws so help me out... Monica's said she did it bc she had no job and no food and had 3 kids to take care of. But her brother was a reservation police officer who died in the line if duty, AND former US military. He didn't have any benefits?
Version 1: John gets impeached and fucks off to Hawaii for a couple of months, leaving Beth in charge. Who immediately ruins everything, she trys to blame Jamie but in the last episode we find out she did it on purpose to spite her father. He dies of a heart attack when he realizes that Beth was against him the whole time because of the way he treated her.
V 2: Jamie, Beth and Kayce realize that John's gonna destroy the ranch and they work together to save it by getting rid of John. They discuss taking him to the train station but decide that jail would be more fitting.
I really hoped Summer would still be around but it doesn't sound like that. Like she might have even got Beth to behave. While Lynelle tried being a bigger person/adult then Beth, Summer decided that if you're gonna treat me like the biggest 15 year-old bitch, I'm gonna be an even bigger one and Beth actually stops because getting it back isn't fun.
Beth: you fucking hair pussy hippie. Summer: your dad sure likes my hairy pussy. Cue Beth gagging and walking away.
Summer makes the wranglers like cowboy caviar or some type of bean salad. They all don't want to try it. Summer "who would've thought that a bunch of cowboys were afraid of beans". Everyone tries it and like it.
Kayce has some weird vision again and realizes the first vision was telling him to leave Monica since she's so wishy washy.
We find out Monica has TBI from the first time she got hit in the head and the other times have made it worse and that's why she the way she is.
Carter gets that girl pregnant and Beth has to deal with it. Spoiler alert she deals with it in the wrong way and learns nothing from it.
Beth actually steals Jamie's baby and Rip is like "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU". Jamie agrees to help prevent her from going to jail if she goes to a rehab/mental institution. The doctors are like "you have to be batching crazy to try to fix someone that crazy". Rip says he'll leave her if she doesn't start to behave, she begrudgingly "behaves" and they move to the middle of nowhere Wyoming so she doesn't have contact with other people.
They blow up the mountain that ME wants to build a ski resort on. Jamie remembers that it was mined (it all comes around and the guy from 1923 was the one that mined it) and they plant the bombs in the tunnels and causes them to collapse and ruin the slope.
They donate the ranch to something. The park, make it into a new park/wildlife preserve, reservation, living museum. The duttons get to keep the original land, so like maybe a few hundred acres. Since the kids don't want anything to do with the ranch after John's dies, maybe that gets turned into a living museum or a research area for the university on how the old way of ranching impacts land, that way the wranglers can stay at the ranch.
Jamie finally says screw you guys and fucks off the England to be a farm manger. They have so many rules around farming, it'd be a perfect job for a lawyer that rather just ranch but none of the trouble that comes with owning your own.
Gator is ratting on them to the authorities in retaliation of them not eating his meals he workes so hard to make.
Travis shows up after winning horse spinny of the year.
I’m only half way through season 4
Having started Yellowstone last Saturday, I'm really regretting binge watching the show as i have to episodes left and don't want to drag the last 2 episodes out, Looks like its going to be a rewatch straight away
Maybe the most unhinged moment in the show (and that’s saying something). Was that supposed to be touching?
Kayce’s presence on the show has been one disaster after another.
However he is John’s only legacy. Beth is unable to have children. Jamie is adopted. Tradition & family are important values espoused by John.
Will we finally see the uprising of Kayce in season 6. With his credentialed military background he has done everything not to lead up to his potential until now. Will we see him step into a heroic role he has the ability to fulfill?
