I wanna start by saying that I do like Xenosaga 2's gameplay and I found it fun (for a while). That being said, I do know that a lot of people seem to not like the gameplay; how would you guys improve it if you don't like it?
Getting ready to post my ps2 Xenosaga 3 on eBay for the price everyone else is (200$)
If anyone wants it her for 150$ (including shipping) let me know. Sorry if this is against the rules. I have PayPal
this is not some force "he actually did love her" this is a dog realizing it won't get a next meal and that its master can be used as food, at best its a child throwing a tantrum after it toy was taken away. I don't see even the faint excuse compassion or regret just an animal biting the hand that fed it.
A few years ago I came across a YouTube video showing gameplay of a Xenosaga flash game. It's NOT A Missing Year. It looked fan-made and it was a platforming game where you played as KOS-MOS and killed Gnosis. Think Metroid but Xenosaga. Although it wasn't 16-bit like the original Metroid, KOS-MOS and the enemies and all their animations looked hand-drawn.
I was surprised to see it because it actually looked kinda decent and I was surprised to see that someone had put that much effort into a fan-made game for such a niche series.
But now I can't find the video.
I have the invincible robot and now that I have tasted its power I must ask what dose all the text in its animation actually say?

Here are some samples from each game:
I was 14 when I first played Xenosaga. I also did not have my own PC at the time. The wealth of information in the Database was staggering. I'm the kind of guy who liked to call Nastasha in MGS1 and just listen to her rattle off facts about nuclear weapons and material so you can imagine how delighted I was to have this huge, huge collection of information on a massively diverse range of subjects.
Takahashi and Saga clearly don't just pick Words or Terms to sound cool. (in contrast, Hideki Anno is pretty blatant that he just kinda threw shit around and had no idea about any of its contexts or meaning) EP1's database in particular is a testament to the breadth of interests they have. From quoting Hamlet to explaining Jungian terms to detailing Einstein theories....
archetype 013
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to Jungian psychology, an image from the collective unconscious, an inherited memory represented in the mind by a universal symbol and observed in dreams and myths.
The in-game reference is to the KOS-MOS prototype Kevin designed.
EPR (EPR Paradox) 062
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A paradoxical theory presented in 1935 by Albert Einstein, Boris Podolsky, and Nathan Rosen in support of their argument that quantum mechanics still falls short in its explanation of reality.
A simple theoretical experiment to illustrate this paradox consists of a particle decaying into two identical particles. Because the internal angular momentum or spin of the particle must be conserved, the two decaying particles will have two opposing spins.
As these particles decay, they are launched in opposite directions. When the distance between the two particles reaches a great distance, say several light years, the spin of one of the particles is measured.
At the precise moment the spin of one particle is determined, the spin of the other can be determined to be in the opposite direction because the two spins must equal zero.
Herein lies the paradox, since quantum mechanics dictates that the intrinsic property of an entity cannot be determined until it is actually measured. By determining the spin of the second particle several light years away without measuring it, the experiment would introduce the existence of some strange force that can transmit the information of the first particle's spin to the second particle faster than the speed of light -- a force that cannot be explained by quantum mechanics.
I really do attribute my lifelong love for philosophy and history and religion to being exposed to Xenosaga at such a young age.
EP3's Database intrigued me for a very different reason. This was the last game, the end of it all. I needed to understand and have everything explained. The post-game Databsse supplies subtler details that are never really explored in the cutscenes.
Like I always dug this explanation of how the Testaments "work"
By controlling physical phenomena, they also act directly upon the perception of those in normal space; you could see them as if they actually were there, even though your retinas would not be receiving any photons. Since they act directly upon the perception of their target, they will not appear in photographs or videos that rely on the action of photons (though they can act on these devices to appear in them).
I’m looking to buy Ep. III, however, every time I look for it the sellers want over $200 for it. Including used games.
Just finished Xenosaga Epsiode II and before moving on to Episode III, I was told to "watch" the "A Missing Year"...power-point, thing?
Anyways, while watching, I realized that the characters IMO look similarly drawn to the FATE anime character designs...does anyone know what studio did "A Missing Year" and if it was done by Studio Deen or not?
Shion, momo, kos mos are all level 26, got the best gear i could get before going to nephilim, but all the enemies hit..... like tanks, tanks hit hard like tanks, oh I get it. Anyway, the enemies get multiple turns and basically, unless I use escape item, my party gets wiped. Should I use the thingy to grind? And I been putting points into eattack which means that my heals are high. Been using shions spell blade the whole time as well as momos meteor attack and kos mos Canon attack. I actually went through the whole game with those attacks.
Funny thing is once I got to the second to last boss I remembered I have beaten it before it was 3 I did not finish 😂.
But it's OK I litterly forgot almost absolutely every thing about 2 so replying was great refresher before I play 3.
Not right away of course gonna play a few other games before I start 3 so not to burn my self out.
Thank you to all who gave me tips to make 2 easier it helped a lot :-)
I'm struggling with Ep 1. I play a lot of RPGs, I generally understand systems well and I expect to grind, but these bosses are a REAL grind. I'm chopping away, doing maybe 100 damage every few turns (I'm around 8 hours in), then they heal for 600. I could sit here for an hour on this single fight, but I don't want to do that.
Am I missing something obvious? I'm happy to post screenshots of my party
Hello just like in the title how Im gonna fasst leave EVS?
Do I need every time move to the start of the dungeon I'm replaying?
It's the part with the searchlight and you have momo, ziggy and jr. But..... I only ever used momo, shion and kosmos not realizing they would split the party and now they are underleveled (gear is the best i could get), they have no points i can use to increase stats, they are level 20, i think I'm done for.
Hello everyone, I played through episode one about 3 years ago and remember a basic amount of the story. I never played games 2 or 3. I want to go back and finish the series. I watched a 30 minute recap video on episode 1. Should I replay it to get a better idea since it's been a while or just watch the 7 hour cutscenes? Does episode 2 review the first game at all?
he may have only been in half a game but Andrew left one hell of an impression. also for someone obsessed with leaving a legacy it sucks that the last reference to the guy is like 20 minutes after his death
This is driving me up the wall and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the fuck he says. I finished 1 last week and immediately started 2 and I already am deeply in love with the story and world building, but that's beside the point lmao.
My spouse and I keep saying whatever we hear when he casts ether and some highlights include: "Unleash your grandmother at home" "Release your brainwaves, let it go" "Unleash your credit card number" "Unleash your tingle, find your power"
Thanks in advance for anyone who knows! I can't find it anywhere online 😭
I learned how to read the ISO of the first Xenosaga, and how the dual layer ISO works but I don't Understand how english subtitles were made. I opened the .PSS file where cutscenes are stored. I separated the audio file and created the .mp4 but it's seem like subtitles are burned in the file. So, the question how the English Location was made? They had raw files from Monolith or in the Japanese Edition you can separate subtitles from the video media? I know, it's a complex question. I want to know because I want to make a HD Patch with High Quality Cutscenes and the subtitles are a problem.
Just got to the resort, I have to say, this game has a very slow start with alot going on. Battle is fun though.
