Hello all.

I have a Series X that keeps disconnecting from the internet for a few seconds. It tends to happen in clusters - might be fine for a few hours then a few happen within 20 minutes. I get booted from online games and all the icons in the Home Screen grey out.

This happens across both Ethernet and WiFi. I’m running Deco mesh WiFi, and when connecting to WiFi I connect to the local node, and when on Ethernet it connects directly to the main terminal node. The Deco network remains active and doesn’t drop when the Xbox does.

I’ve tried:

• Clearing alternative MAC address
• Trying fixed IP
• Resetting Xbox
• Power cycling Xbox
• Running Deco in both Router and Access Point modes

I’m not technical at all, so any help that I can understand would be appreciated!

Over the last few days I noticed that I was sometime able to record a clip after I just started my console. During the last few hours I tested many ways and different order of the steps, and I also tried to remove as many steps as possible to confirm what was responsible for this "miracle" and what was not. I found a method that makes possible to "record now". Unfortunately it works for only ONE clip before you have to do the whole method again.

I know this is not ideal and a bit clunky, but this is the only way I found to be able to record something at least. It does not require to factory reset, which have "permanent" consequences and, in the experience of some of you, does not fix the problem permanently. This method is also a temporary fix, but it is faster than having to factory reset and re-settup your whole system.

This will (if it works for you) allow you to "record now" one clip of the maximum duration^(1) allowed by your settings^(2). It will at least make you able you to capture one clip if you really need to record something or if you are very patient and you want to repeat all of those steps everytime you would like to record.

^(1) or less if you want to stop before the max
^(2) for me it is 1 hour of recording max

I tested this method both with and without recording on an external hard drive, and in my case the method worked for both. I tried to remove as much steps as possible to make this method as simple and effecient as possible. With all the tests I did, this is the best method I found for it to work and be the least tedious possible. I really hope it will work for you.

This worked on my Xbox One and I hope it will work on your Xbox console Series S/Series X/One S/One X too.

THE TEMPORARY METHOD

*The disposition of the menus may differs from a generation of console to another, but you should have all the options you need to select for this method on Xbox console Series S/Series X/One/One S/One X

Go to Settings --> Preferences --> Capture and share

First, if it is not already set like that, in your Capture location box, select "Internal". If it is already on "Internal" leave it as it is. Then, in the Allow game capture box, select "Don't capture".

I tried skipping this step, but it didn't work without it.

Go to General --> Power options.

Under Turn off console, select "Shut-down now". Then, wait about 5 minutes and start your console again. You could also power cycle^(3) after doing "Shut-down now" by completely unpluging your console from the power source for 5 minutes, pluging it back in and waiting about 1 minute to make sure the power circulate correctly in the system, before starting your console again. [Both power cycling], and on ["shut down now" then start after five minutes] worked for me.
*I tried doing every steps without having to turn off the console every time, but it didn't work unless I shut it down this exact way.

^(3) If your power cycling does not work as expected or if you need help, I would be glad to help you in the comments.

I tried shutting down normally either with \"sleep mode\" and \"energy saving mode\" and the method didn't work. I really needed to do it from the setting menu with this specific option for it to work.

|Step 5|
After starting your console, go back to Settings --> Preferences --> Capture and share (just like step 1). Then in the Allow game capture box, select "Capture by me or games"^(4). After this, in your Capture location box, select your external storage device if you wish to record on it. If you wish to record in your internal storage leave it as it is.

^(4) Could work with "Capture by me" only, I did't test it out

I habe bought xbox game pass ultimate on my xbox series s but now want to play a game that is included in game pass on my laptop is there a way I can do that?

Suddenly started having this issue tonight after two years of it working perfectly. I didn't change anything about my 360 account. In any 360-backwards-compatible games on my Series X, it won't auto-sign into my profile, so I have to select it manually, which leads to it taking a minute or two to try and sign in. It will the fail, saying that it cannot connect to Xbox Live, with the error code 8015190E. As a result, New Vegas sometimes freezes up when attempting to load Downloadable Content. Internet connection is perfectly fine, Xbox status page says that there currently aren't any errors or server outages. I'm really confused... Occasionally it succeeds normally but this is VERY rare. Occasionally it just says that there was an error signing in instead without any manual selection.

Anyone else experiencing issues right now?

Hi hopefully someone on here can help. I have 2 xboxes, an x and s. My x works great but my s is having an issue with controllers. Keep in mind both of my controllers work fine with my x but when I connect either of them to my s they start going right. It happens with both controllers and I can't do anything on the Xbox because of this. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I'm trying to play wwe 2K19 on my Xbox series x but when my save tries to download from the cloud it gives me a pop up saying "your Xbox is out of space for save data to make room select a game or app from my game and apps press the menu button on your controller and then select game and add-ons"

however I don't need to delete anything because I still have storage room on my Xbox and external hard drive. I hope there’s a fix because I have some content on there that is inaccessible due to their servers being disabled.

TLDR: Experiencing a persistent cracking sound on Xbox home page and streaming apps, but not during gameplay.

I've been dealing with this annoying cracking sound every time I'm on my Xbox's home page or streaming something on YouTube, Crunchyroll, or just browsing videos online.

What's weird is that as soon as I launch a game, poof! The sound disappears like magic. No audio issues whatsoever during gameplay—it's smooth sailing.

At first, I thought my headset was acting up, even though it's brand new and “optimized” for next-gen gaming. But no matter how much I troubleshoot, I can't seem to shake off this cracking sound.

It's not a constant nuisance, but it pops up frequently enough to be a bother. Sometimes, a quick reset does the trick, but it always creeps back in.

This has been bugging me since I got my Xbox, and I know it's not a cable problem because I've never messed with the headset's connections.

I'm leaning towards it being a software glitch, but any tips or leads on fixing this would be great.

Hello. My 4 year old son has an Xbox as well as at his mom's house. What's the easiest way for him to play games through a game pass account and not have it mess up the other one playing at the same time? I even signed him up for game pass ultimate with another profile and password and still no dice. Kinda frustrating to go play a game and have to stop because he wants to play one at his mom's or vice versa. Granted, i stop and let him play

So 2 seperate profiles, 2 game pass ultimate accounts and still run into issues and trying to play different games. Ex- Him- Hello Neighbor. Me- Ac Valhalla

for over 4 months I’ve had this issue and it’s really making me mad. My xbox only works from 2pm to 8pm and when i try to connect to the internet before/after it tells me “if you have a pc try to connect to the network on it, you may have to work this out with your isp” i’ve talked to my isp multiple times and each time they told me that they have no time restrictions placed on my xbox how do i fix this before i throw my xbox on the floor

They’re marked as favorite but I never get the pop up that they’re online.

Turned on my Xbox to find that my controller wasn’t synced (it’s on and blinking), and went to normally resync. The console sync button was unresponsive (which is new), so I plugged the controller into the front usb port of the console and got no response. I then plugged in into the back usb port of the console, and the controller synced. I then updated the controller and removed the usb cord, and it unsynced again. Any suggestions?

I’ve recently become aware that having games like Baldur’s Gate on external storage renders them unplayable, something to do with the load speed? I get a message “sorry, this game cannot be played from external storage.” I’ve been shopping around a bit bc maybe it’s time to upgrade my storage, and a few articles have stated that the seagate storage expansion card loads and works just as fast, but I don’t want to drop money on it just to get the same message. Is it going to let me play it if the game is on the Seagate card? Or should I just consider it an annoyance and leave it be?

For reference, the external storage I have now is 5TB but only 1 is used, and it’s usb instead of storage slot. I had it for my Xbox one, and recently upgraded.

how can i know my series x release year? + the country that made it ? + does there any difference between the quality of the different countries ?

I have a Series X and two HDD's connected for a collection of dumped movies and shows of mine and the other for all non XS games. For one reason or another, the drive for movies and videos will often go for long periods making a quiet, yet very clear beeping. Long/slow beeps that's enough to give someone a migraine. It's consistent in the beeps where it would hold for as long as it would go quiet, about 1 beep a second or so. I unplugged the drive and that fixed my issue but I wanna know why this is happening. Will be replacing it with a newer drive and recycling the old one if not using it elsewhere.

The drive is old, but within USB 3.0 spec. The noise was absolutely coming from the Xbox after some careful listening but is interesting how this drive, compared to the drive I use for games remains silent, albeit, newer by at least six years, give or take. Both are HDD's, neither are SSD's, mind you. Specifically it's a Wester Digital "My Passport for Mac" from 2011 if that helps.

Asking to open a discussion to why this is even a problem with some drives but not others when they behave normally otherwise outside of the Series X.

I dislike having all my 9 most recent games and apps appearing there, it looks messy. is there a way to hide this or at the very least, customize it to only show a select few?

Hope everyone doing well, just wandering how exactly the hard drives work for the Xbox Series S. I understand that you cant run games directly of the drive, but will any drive work for storing games to transfer. And if not would anyone know if the Seagate Expansion Portable 2TB Hard Drive will be suitable to use. Appreciate the help.

Just like the title says. I tested my network connection and it comes back 90mbps download and 20mbps upload, 100% strength. In game (Gears 5) shows very low ping (25 ish) and in games like that and Fortnite every so often for the last day I will experience about 30 seconds at a time at random what I experience as a massive ping spike. Characters running into walls, the whole rest of the game freezing. All other devices on my network are working fine and no changes to devices on the network have been made when this started. Attempted a full system restart and a restart of my modem.

Any other tips I should be aware of? Could this be a hardware issue or needing to change some settings?

I don't even know how to describe this. I own 2 separate series x consoles at two different houses, both are not working even though my home xbox was working fine last night. Neither console will let me sign in all, which also means I can't play any game, even though I'm well aware I should be to play games without signing in. I have no ideas, please help. title, i tried download fallouf4 dlcs (i bought and paid for) and it didn’t work, i tried uninstalling fallout4, didnt work, i restarted my xbox numerous times and its still on my homepage, i cant access the game though. but its there, any fix? this is a really bad problem.

With all the Fallout craze that came from the show I wanted to play Fallout 4 again, but when I went to look through my catalog, there was nothing there. I went to look up storage options in the Settings and the only one it shows is Internal Storage. I’ve tried switching to different USB ports, resetting my console, nothing changes. I can hear the Xbox start running louder when I plug it in, and the indicator on my hard drive lights up, but I’m not seeing anything. Any thoughts/ideas?

Can anyone help guide me to what the requirements for an internal hard drive are? I’m looking to replace one for cheap but don’t even know what I’m looking for. Is there size requirements? And do both HDD and SSD work? If anyone could link any internal drives I would really appreciate it!
