/r/WrongGenre
What you may find here are songs by singers/bands that don't usually sing in that style. Not a song done in another style, but a song that shows another style of an artist we haven't seen before.
Welcome to /r/WrongGenre!
We're happy to accept any posts as long as they follow some small rules along side the standard reddiquette.
Submissions should be of songs that brought out another side of an artist, not just where the artist brought out another side of the song. Examples of an good submission are:
Kesha - Old Flames Can't Hold A Candle To You
Disturbed - Sound of Silence
Examples of bad submissions (not necessarily bad covers) are:
Ice Nine Kills - Animals
Fame on Fire - Hello
Please also add a comment to your post telling everyone what genre the band normally plays and what genre the song you're posting is
Submissions should be of YouTube, or similar video sites or of audio playing sites similar to SoundCloud or even to an iTunes location. We don't want to have to go through any sketchy download sites to listen to it.
The amount of mind blown from any submission can change from viewer to viewer. All we ask is that no one is put to shame for not knowing about a different stage in someone's career. While you might be a 90's expert, not everyone knows that Darius Rucker started off with a little band called Hootie and The Blowfish. And people shouldn't be shamed if they don't know that.
