Skull Island - King Kong 2005

This is the landscape and base layout of my complete Skull Island build from Peter Jackson’s King Kong. I completed this build 100% a while back but am revisiting it to make way more detailed island and thus the most accurate Kong map ever made in Minecraft

Advice For Underground

I’m trying to get the underground section of my map to look as authentic to vanilla Minecraft as possible with caves and those massive caverns with water/lava falls

Is there an easy way to add these in the export screen. I know you can select “add caves, add chasms, add caverns” but the caverns and everything seem really small

Worldpainter unread chunks not showing on squaremap

Hello, I am having an issue where squaremap is not properly rendering or just not reading the unread chunks from worldpainter. I tried using chunky, it said it would take about 5 days to fully render this whole map. When I tried to use chunky actual minecraft worlds started popping up in those unread chunks.

World scaling issue

I made a 6k x 6k map and I decided to scale it to 9k x 9k. Turns out that 1 block height difference is now 2 blocks, and it's everywhere. You can't walk normally, since you have to break a block to get a little higher.

Is there a way to fix that? I'm starting to bang my head against the wall since I can't find a solution.

Hiya! I was wondering if there is a way to make caves not breach certain layers. | I have a custom ground object layer as water, acting as rivers but I keep having caves breach through with the water dropping into it. Thank you.

My Custom Objects Are Not Touching The Ground -Fix?

The bottom of these custom trees is clearly floating and I was just wondering if there's a way in World Painter to extend the objects to the ground? Even if the trees flattened out an area of the ground when they were inserted that would be ok as long as it doesn't look like a perfectly symmetrical square surrounding them or something. The issue is the map I am creating is a very rocky and jagged landscape so there's not really any way to flatten out the terrain. My map is very full of slopes and even some 90o cliffs.

A bunch of black X's

There is a problem with my world painter when I load into the map there is tons of black X's and unloaded chunks, I tried exporting it and the black chunks where regular chunks. Is there anything I can do? I know about the "Reading chunks" thing but I have no idea on how to do it.

How to make the underground of my world stone

the entirety of my world is dirt. I want to make sure that the underground, lets say 4-5 blocks from dirt at any point including mountains, is stone. How would I go about doing that? Right now I can only assume that global operations will do this for me

I think exporting causes my computer to turn off?

Okay so basically I'm working on my world. I finish a version and I want to see it in game so I hit export and then wait. Then out of no where my computer just turns off, no blue screen just off. It's also only when I'm exporting. I've made sure that it was only during that. Maybe it doesn't like having multiple layers over each other?

how do I fix this elevation bug (inverted)?????

I had this problem for a while but the elevation is acting wierd on my worldpainter and the water level is messed up. Its almost like it is inverted.

Is there any risk of my map being stolen by allowing players to view it in a server? If there is, is there anyway to minimize this risk?

So I know there are a variety of ways that a player on a server can download and save chunks to their computer. I am just finishing up a map I have spent too much of my time and money on and I want to ensure that it remains in my possession and is not stolen and used on another server. The map is quite large but I don't see it outside the realm of possibility if someone were to get a bot on the server and download all the chunks. I do want players to be able to check out the map before the server is officially launched in order to generate hype and ensure that all the server sided mechanics are working properly before I go ahead with a full release. Am I just overthinking things or is this a valid concern to have?

Using worldpainter on my terra 1:1 world?

So Im using terra 1:1 to create a map of the earth to play with my buddy.

The issue is the mod doesnt generate the great lakes or any other rivers, and the only way I can think of to add these mass scale bodies of water is via worldpainter.

It was gonna go good, but the issue is when I import my world file onto world I get the error.

(This map has no surface dimension ; this is not supported by World Painter”

Its probably just due to the huge size of a planet earth, but I cant think of any other software to add a massive body of water like the Great Lakes.

Trouble with Importing a height map

Okay, so I've been trying to import a height map of the ATLA map into WP, but when I tried to, It always came back with the exact same error message: "Indexed image not supported! Please convert to non-indexed"

I tried to look around on Google but I have zero clue what it means by converting the image to a non-indexed format. Please I need some help ASAP!

I've already tried importing it as a BMP & PNG, with varying bit depths using paint.net, but that never worked so I'm just stumped now. For a bit of extra information I've attached the PNG of the image I have been trying to import.

Custom height data packs not working (1.20.1)

I cannot for the life of me get an increased height datapack to work for me in 1.20.1. When I test export, I make sure I have the datapack zip selected. When I load up the world, it asks to go into safe mode.

The logs tells me there's something wrong with it not being able to properly load the other dimensions with the datapack or something like that. I'm using Higher Heights. Any ideas?

How do I get my custom world to load in Minecraft?

I started looking into world painter today and watched a few videos. I went to try it out and everything was going well but the videos told me to export the world to make sure everything looked good and so I did but I cant figure out why it isnt loading the world in Minecraft. am I doing something wrong or am I missing something? any and all help is greatly appreciated T^T

Export without restarting?

A really simple question but I can't seem to find an answer online anywhere. I've been watching world painter tutorials, and one of the things they do is say how you should export the section you're working on to look at it in game. But then they'll export, and it'll be automatically updated after they rejoin the world without restarting the minecraft application. It also doesn't create a brand new save file but is instead an updated version of the same map. But I can't find how to do this because when I do it, I have to restart minecraft and it becomes a new save file. Is there a tutorial on how to set this up so I don't have to waste so much time on quitting and restarting minecraft?

Open Cavern

What I'm trying to make is a large cavern with an open hole at the top that will then have room at the surface for mountains and trees and space for builds and things like that. Is there anyway that this could be done? I know Jeracraft did a video tutorial where he showed how to make an open cavern and in it he had trees and stuff and i wanted to know how I could do something similar.

I'm working on a 1.20.1 world and I'd like to have at least 120+ blocks to work with above the cavern ceiling, but inside the cavern doesn't need to be more than like...100 blocks. Any assistance would be appreciated

Problem with custom object layer

so, i made this tree as a custom object layer but when i put it in the world with a frost layer, the snow stays on top of the tree, not on the ground. is there any way to change this?

Worldpainter is working for me

I am trying to download Worldpainter, but it has this error message that says "The install4j wizard could not find a Java(TM) Runtime Environment on your system. Please locate a suitable 64-bit JRE. (minimum: 1.8). I have tried downloading Windows Online, Windows Offline, and Windows Offline (64-bit). I have also tried to click the link in FAQ. It brings up this error code. When I tried to find the files not popped up. Since none of those worked, so I deleted only those files. What should I do

Random missing chunk in my world

Ive tried updating the chunks by smoothening them and other stuff, but it just hasnt worked froi some reason.

Found other posts reporting missing chunks, but mine only had one, which wasnt there bdfore i updated it to 1.19 and later. Is there a fix?

Merging error

So I’ve been messing with world painter for over a month now and have gotten pretty solid at it I’d say, however the one thing that gets me is the merging. World painter says I have to optimize the world every time I want to merge. (Note: I exported from world painter to see how it would look). So ofc I have been optimizing it so I can see what it looks like. But I’m getting kind of tired of needing to optimize every time. Can someone help me?
