Hi! Am a freelance writer and I write blogs for different niches. Recently, I got this job to write blogs for an HVAC company.
Keep in mind that English is not my first language (actually it’s my 3rd) but I learnt it very early and academically. I used to be an editor/copywriter for different research teams so I am also familiar with the harsh, academic texts.
They asked me for a friendly tone and understanding text about different problems that their company can fix. I wrote 6 blogs per request.
Then they came out and said that all of them were 90% AI !!!! With this bloody website called Copyleaks. I was baffled so I even put some of my old articles (9-8 years old) into the AI detectors and guess what! It was 80% AI when it didn’t existed back then!
I re-wrote the blogs, paraphrased them, and again they sent me the reports of being 70-80% AI!
I explained to them that those AI detectors are not liable (I put the US constitution in it and it shows as AI) so I am really exhausted and confused at what to do!
You know that some parts or sentences that are scientific facts, cannot be written that much differently. I even put a personal story and it was AI AGAIN!!!!
What should I say to them? I really like this job and the pay is good, but I am fed up with the AI detectors. I can film myself writing the damn blogs and it will still show as AI!!!!
i recently got hired for project Vouski on Appen and i can't get to the production page on SRT. i downloaded and connected two-step authentication and the VPN they require. There are a lot of steps i think i've done them all, but I'm sure i'm doing something wrong. I submitted a ticket over a week ago and i got no response. When i log in i get a page that says 'access denied'
Do y’all know if there’s a place to view your number of completed/approved sets on the website? I just got this week’s payment summary and it is…not matching up with the amount of essays I know I did last period. I want to see if they got delayed to the next pay period or at the very least have proof of completion if I need to complain.
I'm at a loss. I used to be a part of Speechpad, and I used to love the work as a reviewer. Wasn't that good as a transcriber but I fell in love with review and the work was good for a long time. But between COVID, AI, life issues, and a changing living situation for me, I fell away from the work and the work dried up and was priced down.
Now I'm wondering the following things:
Any help/insights/opinions would be greatly appreciated here as I don't think I'm alone on this forum as Speechpad, Rev, Scribie, etc., go the way of the AI algorithm. We in gen tran have skills, it's just I'm at a loss on how to make those skills translate to something else, ANYTHING ELSE.
Thanks in advance.
Saw a posting on conduent for a data entry position. I wanted to know if anyone has worked at conduent for this position before? I want to apply but I also dont want to waste my time if there is a possibility that it’s a tough position to get.
I had a lengthy description but the post disappeared inconspicously, let me just post this and I'll elaborate on my question more in the comments.
Does anyone know anything about Abakus Europe, the school for mental arithmetics? They are hiring teachers, so just wondering if anyone is working for them and can share their experience. Thanks!
I got into RWS Workzone but haven’t received any task offers that I’m remotely able to do! One was a task for experienced sound engineers paying like $13/hr, and one was a task for bilingual people who speak English and Arabic paying $14. Wtf?? Why would somebody who can do these advanced things be sitting around checking emails for random little short-term tasks that pay the same as fast food? Also I wish when signing up there was some survey asking what u can and can’t do, so they could stop wasting my time with emails about tasks I can’t do.
Has anyone received a message from an OKS digital dataset asking for product reviews?
Hello everyone !
I used to work on several different online projects (Appen, Lionbridge, etc) translation, transcription, moderation etc mostly in french/english
and I would like to work online again. I am looking for a serious project but my hours would be limited (10h max per week). Is there a serious project that comes to your mind ?
Thanks in advance and I wish you all a very beautiful day
Applied for appen about a month ago and completed some onboardings but never got any work. Got this email today. Weird cuz I already completed everything it says. What are the chances id actually get work?

I have an interview with them today and I am curious to know what I should expect myself to get into. Tips or advice?
Does anyone ever have any issues with signing in to Arise in order to apply for or even see available positions? I keep going in circles with the sign in and then I’m locked out of my account because of too many log in attempts. I receive a link to reset my password. After I’ve set a new password and attempt to sign in again, it says it’s invalid. I can sometimes sign into the actual Arise website but when I try to sign into the portal, I keep getting error messages that says my password is incorrect, even though I just reset my password to a brand new one. When I contact support, they tell me to log in and chat with AVA. How can I do that when I’m unable to completely log in without receiving errors?
I'm wondering if anyone has ideas for which bureaus to contact to report shading HR practics for data annotation tech in the US and Europe.
Data annotation tech pays well and seems like a dream at first. From what I can gather, then after what appears to be 9-18 months (and I suspect an income threshhold) they unceremoniously drop workers. Sometimes they make a claim about pay or misbilling and sometimes they simply ghost. These waves of let-go's appears to be preceded by hiring pushes.
While contract workers are poorly protected in the US (and Europe?), there are still opportunities to file complains if companies are using business practices to skirt employment laws.
Could people give me ideas of where to file complaints at any level in the US, Europe (Canada/Australia possibly if they use workers from there), at federal, state/province or any other level.
I'm not sure if they're trying to skirt unemployment laws, labor tax, any claims of contract workers being reclassified as employees, or union avoidance, but they are most certainly doing something shady by this practice with an intention or it wouldn't be so prevalent and so many people wouldn't insist that they, to their knowledge, did not break the rules.
I think its time to explore accountability for online businesses when they try to shirk responsibility to workers. (A good set of ideas could also be used to dispute practices at remotasks/otter, and now I am seeing some familiar sounding complains for other ai training companies.)
i want to start out by saying ive never worked remotely before and i dont have what i consider a lot of job experience. ive only worked with three different companies, and one of them is a job i currently have for a couple weeks.
my "main" job has been as a personal care assistant/home health aid (ten years). most of the healthcare related jobs ive applied/interviewed for are ones that i think my skills will translate to which have to be done in person since it involves interacting directly with patients. ive recently had to decline an offer that would've paid well because i simply don't have the transportation for it. this really hurt me and got me thinking about remote work.
so, are there any remote positions that relate to being a PCA? is something like customer service for a healthcare company considered close enough? i assume that id have to do entry level work, which is fine with me, but id like my experience as a PCA to be relevant when i apply. i also have minimal customer service skills from previous/current work in retail.
Hello, i'm currently looking for a job related to these. Feel free to message me
Hi guys. Today I was working on a task when several errors started appearing on the website as I tried to submit the task I was working on. After refreshing the page, I suddenly saw the following message:
After careful review of your account activity, we have detected multiple attempts to defraud our payment system. This is a violation of our Code of Conduct and Terms of Use, and your account has been permanently suspended.
Our policy for violations of the Code of Conduct exists because unethical behavior undermines our platform's integrity.
Sincerely,
The DataAnnotation Team
I have never attempted to defraud the payment system as stated in the message. I always reported my working time correctly and have always worked correctly for 7 months. I have also funds available for withdrawal in my account.
I don’t know what could have happened; the only idea that comes to mind is that someone may have accessed my account. Has anyone had the same experience?
Thank you.
Hi all.
I signed up for Appen forever ago and forgot about it. Today they sent me an email with an exciting project opportunity. I then noticed multiple interesting projects and applied.
I had three project applications pending where I got through every stage and was just waiting on them to verify my ID, and I submitted everything relating to that correctly because I've done it a thousand times with other websites recently before anybody asks when I state my issue.
I also had several available projects and two instant tasks available. I didn't claim any of those or apply to any of those, though.
It said it would take about 15 minutes to verify my ID. I found this strange, given that using the exact same process, other websites did so instantly. I checked back several hours later and I still had three applications pending all because my ID was not yet verified, but it wouldn't let me resubmit the verification or anything, so I assumed a real person had to look at it to verify it or something like that?
A few more hours passed and I checked back again. Suddenly, I have no projects available to apply to, the pending ones have vanished, and all I have are two tasks that I can apply to that are, you know, the instant kind.
Does anyone know what may have happened? Is this normal and I've just been rejected from the pending ones without them telling me, or is something weird happening?
hi! I got an interview offer with carenet health for a medical receptionist position. has anyone had experience in this position before? I have an almost 3 month old, so I wasn’t sure if this would be a good fit. thanks for any insight <3
Does anyone know the company “GTK Timek Group SA”? The weird interview was over teams as a series of questions ending and after saying I have the position they asked with what bank I use and how long I’ve used them for.
Hi there. A doctor, tho i’m still training. I would like to know what options should i research for an alternative career in IT that would have a remote job? I’m very keen to have a way out. Thanks ☺️
I tried to register with Appen a few days ago. They sent me a link to confirm the registration, and I entered my username and password as instructed. The site said my username and password were incorrect, but both were correct. I tried to reset my password, but Appen never sent me the link to do that. Anybody else having this issue?
this company is a scam that offers to hire anyone with a health license provided by the company. it is a $199 fee that covers 20 weeks of classes, agent code, a background check, and the health license.
Hi,
So I've been working for Crisp thinking for past few years doing content moderation. In past year the company moderation seems to have been taken over by ai services which results in much less content for the human moderators. I get it, times are such as they are, there is a lot of content happening so automatization is expected.
I have been researching companies that hire moderators because, ya know, i kinda need to eat and pay rent but from what I see hardly anyone seems to hire human remote moderators anymore? It's either on site (and usually in countries outside of EU where I am based) or it's all Ai.
Due to health reasons i am mostly looking for remote options. Is this becoming a dead job? Or are there still any companies that hire people remotely that I simply somehow haven't found yet?
Hi ,
I was working on e-moderators or operatorpanelau.com and it's just thrown me out with no explanation. I haven't even gotten an email saying I've done something wrong.
Is anyone else have this problem?
My 26 year old daughter just came to me asking about a job she was applying for that seems pretty scammy.
My wife found a post in a local buy and sell group on Facebook for ResultsCK looking for customer service reps.
My daughter went through an extensive text interview which I was very involved with. They eventually offered her a job at $30 per hour and are going to provide her with a home office setup.
It seemed a lot to good to be true that they hired a 26 year old stay at home mom (5.5 years) who's only job experience is McDonald's as a teen.
They told her that they would make a deposit into her bank for her to order the equipment from their approved vendor.
Is this a scam? What should I watch for to keep her safe?
Is there anyone who has issues with tryrating platform for the above mentioned projects?
