Tl;dr WPE hosted clients get their access to .org plugins, themes, apis, admin panel restored, Automattic gets to keep SCF and shut out WPE from maintaining or adding plugins in .org
I would welcome correction, but my reading is that WPE gets full unauthenticated access to WordPress.org and associated APIs and admin panel, so that they no longer need a mirror for their clients to download and update themes and plugins from within their WPE hosted instances. They also get access to wp.org security and support for them and their clients. Finally, Automattic commits to adding a button to their trolling page so WPE clients or former clients mentioned in the irresponsible CSV can request to have their non-public domains removed from the CSV within 2 days.
Automattic gets to withhold passworded access from WPE to wp.org, meaning, if I read it right, that while WPE clients can now download and update plugins and themes, WPE can't access or update its own plugins on wp.org or add new ones. So they remain locked out of ACF on wp.org and Matt gets to keep for now the nulled, stolen SCF version. Matt also gets to keep WPE from communicating in WP slack and fora. Matt also gets to keep trolling, disparaging and aggressively trying to poach WPE clients, as there's no clauses against it and the judge asked him to stop only until this submission. It will be harder to steal clients now WPE can restore their access to WP.org, the main pain point, but Matt can keep on being himself without immediate repercussions. Automattic also maintains the right to appeal any injunction, including this one they've agreed to.
It is definitely a compromise, probably slightly favouring WPE in line with the judge's inclination, but keeps the dispute very much alive, with major elements unresolved and both parties dissatisfied. I think this will be the new status quo for at least months, possibly years if as Mike Dunford predicted the case is headed for a stay.
Wondering how can we set up pricing for services based on the dog breed and weight for our salon.
Any help much appreciated.
Any plugins, features? We're all ears.
Edit - more context as below.
A. Customer based discount - Category A, B, and C (10, 15, and 20% respectively)
B. Dealing with a large service set here - 200 dog breeds, each with 6 weight bands.
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to replicate a specific effect from the Bridge theme demo. You can check out the page here: https://bridgelanding.qodeinteractive.com/tour/.
In this demo, there’s a section where, as you scroll, the phrase "200000 + user" rotate and form a 3D cube. It’s a seamless and interactive effect that reacts beautifully to scrolling.
I want to know the exact process or tools/plugins needed to recreate this effect:
The rotating cube is exactly what I need for my project. Any detailed guidance, tutorials, or code snippets would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Any wordpress developer need work dm
I an learning that this platform is mostly plugin based while WP itself is missing a lot of functionality. I have ecom sites with SHopify and don't use more than 3 necessary 3rd party applications as they are are invasion, cause issues and slow your site.
This is a news site. No ecommerce. but I have already had to install various plugins to do what is built into shopify. I cannot even add meta descriptions or duplicate a page without the help from something. I am comfortable with adding code, etc but want to follow experienced users lead.
what are the 100% necessary Plugins? I know I will have to add many more as time goes on but what are the ones everyone needs.
Thanks!
I am not using woocommerce product categories pages as my default page to showcase website products.
I already blocked the indexing of these pages from yoast. but how can i add canonical tags on that category pages because some of them are still indexing in google and I want to pass the page rank to new urls that I created with elementor.
hi,
I am trying to link image from Flexible content of ACF with image block from kadence pro?
I tried using the cutom input and using the field key as well as the field name. Could not make it work.
Any suggestion would be helpful.
Thanks
Hello,
I want to know if there is a way to create an easy plain text field in wordpress, where the user can type something in (a question or sentence). Here is an example of what I mean: http://www.facade.com/yesno/ .
If possible I dont want another plugin for this.
Thanks a lot!
I am just curious to see if there are entities out there that take Elementor created websites and rebuild them using Gutenberg blocks ?
As you can see in the picture, there are options to pay in the product page area. I only want payment options in my checkout area. I feel like this just make stuff confusing. Any help in this area?
I built my own site and then got help from a freelancer to help build my store within it. Long story short I do not know how to efectively use it. I have WooCommerce, Shippo, and USPS bcuz that's what he told me to get. But aside from that I do not really know what I am doing ahaha. Any developers want to help to help me out?
The current one i am using seems to only let me put in the Amazon Affiliate API from one country and one store ID. Wondering if it will mess up my referral links. Thanks.
I have a Wordpress multi-site installation. In addition to my main site, I have 2 sub-sites both mapped to domains which work fine. These were set up years ago.
Now, any new site that I create works fine as a sub-site (i.e. subsite.maindomain.com) but as soon as I map it to a domain, trying to log into the dashboard gets “Error: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.”
I’ve created and deleted many sites, tried 3 different domains with two different registrars. My webhost says it’s definitely something in the WordPress code doing this. Is this a bug or just some weird unique thing to me? I’ve been working on this for weeks now with no solution.
The only solution I’ve seen ways to add a line “define( ‘COOKIE_DOMAIN’, $_SERVER[‘HTTP_HOST’] );” to the wp-config file but if I add that line, I can’t access anything and just get an error page that says to remove that line from my wp-config. So currently I seem totally unable to map any new sites to any new domains. I (and my webhost) are totally baffled.
Just over a week ago, I wrote an extremely upset post here about how, for some inane reason, users were not getting the most recent version of my home page for my site. I was reassured by someone that it was at least functioning properly and that the caches just needed time to update; they showed me how Ctrl + F5 loads the page without browser caches just fine. However, it's been over a week, and the page is STILL loading the year-old front page of my site unless you press Ctrl + F5. This isn't just on browsers I've already used either. I opened five different Chrome accounts who'd never visited the site before. All old. I used Edge to open the site. Old. I asked friends who had never before in their life visited my site before. All old, unless they press Ctrl + F5. The hard refresh loads the new stuff every single time. So, if it CAN load the correct content, it's not a server cache problem (ignoring the fact that I have seriously cleared my server's cache around two dozen times at this point), but it's also clearly not a browser cache issue if people who have never been to the site before are still miraculously loading the old content. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I run weekly events and I am looking to make a page on my website that shows our entire year schedule in the users time zone. If anyone knows a way to do this, or if there is a plug-in that does this please let me know.
Please help.
Thank you.
maddening I cannot find the box to enter this info
Is there any free custom calculator plugin which is highly modifiable and has aesthetically pleasing output as well.
Anyone else experience this? Nothing on the site changed, just one moment Simple Cloudflare Turnstile works fine and the next day it suddenly doesn't?Other than re-aurthorising the site key or deactivating the plugin, does anyone have any suggestions for getting it working again?
I’m thinking of switching from Squarespace to WordPress for my photography website. Squarespace limits photo resolution and requires tedious manual work to create galleries, upload files, and link high-res downloads.
I’d like to use Python to automate tasks like:
Is it possible to achieve this on WordPress? I envision that this would be possible if I had some sort of direct access to the file system of my website which I can then use my file manager to mount onto my local filesystem and then transfer the necessary images and HTML files for each new album/webpage. I also would ideally like to use a visual WYSIWYG web editor to make minor edits, but for the most part I want more advanced access/flexibilty of editing using HTML files directly.
Can I access the file system or generate/upload custom HTML files to integrate with WordPress themes?
Hello - I may be looking for something that does not exist. I have a WooCommerce site and then 3 Wordpress sites. Those are brand, community and lead generation. All on four different installs. When I blog on those 3 sites I would like to enter a short code or link or something that will go to my Woo shop and retrieve the needed product image, name, snippet, price, etc. Does such a plug in exist?
I’ve tried to hack around with some Wordpress and Woo affiliate plugins and all seem built to pull in Amazon or just manage paying your roster of affiliates. Basically, I need to retrieve products from my shop without running a cron job to sync things up and copy over, etc. (we tried this) and display it whenever needed in a blog post on the brand, community or lead gen site.
Thanks, in advance, for any thought or ideas you might offer.
So, I want to design pull quotes using different fonts, designs and photos, save them as jpg files and import them into my theme. But whenever I try, the text loses its crispness once it is imported into my theme. Is there something I can do that keeps the text from losing resolution/clarity?
WordPress Core - Informational - All known Versions - Weak Hashing Algorithm
All known versions of WordPress core use a weak MD5-based password hashing algorithm, which makes it easier for attackers to determine cleartext values by leveraging access to the hash values. NOTE: the approach to changing this may not be fully compatible with certain use cases, such as migration of a WordPress site from a web host that uses a recent PHP version to a different web host that uses PHP 5.2. These use cases are plausible (but very unlikely) based on statistics showing widespread deployment of WordPress with obsolete PHP versions.
and
WordPress Core - All Known Versions - Cleartext Storage of wp_signups.activation_key
All known versions of WordPress Core store cleartext wp_signups.activation_key values (but stores the analogous wp_users.user_activation_key values as hashes), which might make it easier for remote attackers to hijack unactivated user accounts by leveraging database read access (such as access gained through an unspecified SQL injection vulnerability).
I have been in the tech space for over a decade. Working in various technologies at small design firms/agencies. I made the leap last year and decided to dive into WordPress development and run a small business of my own. I'm wondering how many of you out there have done the same and is it wise to build a business on all various projects or niche down. Has the semi-recession and Matt's legal issue hurt your morale in anyway? How to gain a client audience or find leads?
I recently started making my own website and I noticed that the buttton for Appearance -> Menu is not there. I am currently using a default theme, "Twenty Four". It also doesn't seem to appear with any of the other default ones too. It seems to work for Astra though, but I am having a lot off issues with that theme. Does anyone know what is causing this for the default themes?
Hi! Looking for some guidance/tips on how to make my website feel more seamless. I didn't use any templates because I somehow found them more complicated to use than just making it from scratch, so go ahead and roast me: https://everywherewaswild.org/
I wanted it feeling simple and clean but with still a bit of personality, so I tried to use a simple color gradient and a sort-of old-school blogging site format.
Hi
I made my website years ago with a theme called Stockholm, as I'm not a developer and only fumble my way around Wordpress and get frustrated!
I need to make a sub domain for a different area of my business, but it will look pretty similar to the main site, just with a different menu and page content
As the site is very simple I wondered is there any good reason to have a theme? I basically have a Logo at the top, then a central menu, and the rest is just embedded videos and text
Here is my site : https://alexdelfont.co.uk
If I don't need a theme, would someone just build it in Elementor or similar? I'd really like something I can add to easily, and also that's future proof
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Hi there,
I'm using the MyListing theme, I've added the tabs I want for listings, I've added all of them, logo, description, phone number ect. When I manually add a listing on Dashboard most of the fields don't show on the front end, they're there in the back end and the tabs/fields on "listing type" but I can't get them to show, only category, logo and profile photo show. Help!! I'm attaching some screenshots.
Here, "perfil/profile" it shows the category and that's it.
Here, \"perfil/profile\" it shows the category and that's it.
