I'm currently setting up an online store for a medium sized e-commerce business and I would need to get the woocommerce app to be fully functional for admin purposes. One major issue I'm having with the app is that on ios I was unable to login at all (request to generate application password isn't authorized). On android, I'm able to connect to the store and login but I am unable to make any edits (pics, attributes, price, etc). It says error while updating product.
I have tried disabling all plugins, doesn't work even then. Am I missing something here?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello,
A little intro, I'm a experienced web developer that dabbled in a lot of technologies.
For the past year my team and I have been working mainly on custom wordpress themes, plugins etc. We've mostly used ACF blocks to create websites.
What I've noticed is that we're losing a lot of time and development isn't working as fast as I'd like.
My question is: Is there a website builder (block builder) that you would suggest for teams that are technically high level? Something that would streamline the development and make it more efficient?
Hi all!
Everybody now is probably thinking/talking about a WordPress fork.
I decided to see the WordPress situation from another angle, what if we build a new open source CMS that's lean and inspired by some of the awesome WordPress features?
For example: hooks, shortcodes, simple plugin and theme structure.
The idea is to have a fast CMS that's still simple to use, to develop and very customizable (via plugins) and to support multiple backends such as: sqlite, pgsql, mysql
What do you think? Anybody interested?
As a builder I'm using Elementor (Free) and as a theme OceanWP (Free).
Nowhere can I understand how to assign or modify the header.
Thank you for anyone who can help!
Hi everyone,
A little background, I am not a coder or anything but I have used Wordpress to make basic websites for my businesses from time to time. I want to recreate the effect https://www.bluebeetle.ae
Where the text on the left is scrolls while the image animation stay where it was and animates. I think this is a large container, with 2/3 column on the left and 1/3 column on the right.
Edit: The downvote brigade have arrived.
Basically, the title. For the past week I've been trying to debug this weird issue: as soon as I try to add media or go to the media library, my server simply starts timing out everything, even my ssh connection die. When it happens, I have to reboot through AWS, and sometimes it will even refuse to shutdown.
I've disabled all plugins, nothing relevant show up in the logs. My apache log just shows a bunch of requests to images and then the 408 requests.
For context, my site has about 4000 images on the database, but a lot are missing from the uploads folder.
Could these missing files be causing the crash? Maybe a folder permissions issue (the folder has a 775)? I would appreciated any ideas to debug this further 🥲.
Hi everyone ,
I need someone who is quiet used to with salesforce and know how to integrate salesforce cloud to wordpress website. My client has the current website on Drupal and want to do as follows:
• The migration of over 1,400 pages of content from Drupal 7 to WordPress, ensuring a seamless transition of the articles, reports, and event information.
• Integration Member Profiles and Events from Salesforce into Wordpress, mostly for SEO pages, into Wordpress (SEO) with easy, single-login access to member-only content.
If anybody has expertise in this , please drop me a DM. We can discuss further things about time anf budget there only.
This is getting really annoying, it prevent metadata from being retrieven in Discord and SEO (all that get out is that captcha) and I have no idea where it comes from.
What I tried so far:
Can anyone help me ? I'm really desperate since our main source of visitors are from Discord and they can't even see product informations on the link (image, description etc)
This is from https://www.opengraph.xyz/ to check metadata
Edit: (Website hosted on apache server, 48gb ram 24 cpu cores, SSD NVME storage, planning to move to litespeed server 40cores 60gb ram but not sure it'll make any difference.)
I am trying to speed up the response time of ajax calls on a website. These ajax calls retreive info from the database (MariaDb) to display it dynamically on the front end (user specific)
Basically the website has 50 plugins active and all 110% necessary (i only use lightweight plugins and i custom code anything that can avoid adding plugins that aren't 100% crucial, (i hate having to add plugins).
Pages load very fast thanks to the caching (0.6sec) but Ajax quiries take a good 7 seconds to get a response even with 0 other users on the website !
That is until i turn off all the plugins except the ones making the ajax calls to the server that they take 1s.
I imagine when the website goes live with thousands of users !! Is it gonna take 15sec for these ajax calls by then ?!?!?
There is no way around this ? I fear tese delays will ruin user experience.
If i were to use breakdace or elementor to populate the content of my blogpost/pages (aside from the template) am I correct that I than have to change all content when I switch to a different builder (because the layout is part of the content)?
Building a funnel page for a client who hasn't updated their site and I"m stuck using WPBakery 6.1 and WP 6.6.2.
The problem - funnel page should have no header or footer. Selecting "blank template" from the page attributes section takes care of this.
However - this bank template stretches my column to full width. I don't want that. When i compare the row and column settings side-by-side of the default site template with the blank template, they're exactly the same.
My question - how to to change column setting so that it doesn't stretch full width?
My attached image explains it better.
I'm trying to find a plugin that lets me and the customer create ads. I would basically have an admin center and give options to the customers in which they can upload their ads. Is their anything like this?
Hi, I used the All-in-One WP Migration plugin in WordPress to copy my website from a subdomain to my main domain. However, I’m unable to publish it on the main domain. Could you please help me understand why?
As per title, visitors sometimes get promoted to verify theyre not a robot. I noticed this mostly occurs when vpn is on or visitor is from another country.
The only plugin i have that might be causing this is wordfence, and i didabled firewall etc but this still occured. I now completely uninstalled wordfence and deleted all its tables but recaptcha is still occuring.
My hostin provider is Hostinger but they are saying that from their end all is good.
Any clue on how i can discover whats causing this and how to disable it ?
so i got this project which is beyond my scope of expertise. what would you recommend would be the best place to start looking for a developer who can get this job done?
I need help with the MasterStudy LMS
I have set up the LMS pages to have a hero section, and this works great on the 'user-account' and 'wishlist' pages
But for some reason, the 'enrolled-courses', 'my-orders', 'settings', 'chat', 'enrolled-quizzes' don't show the same hero section. If I try to manually add it to the page, the new hero is added to all of the pages, including the ones that already have it.
Has anyone else had this problem and know how to solve it?
Wordpress can be used in so many ways. Let’s start from the editor and pick the most famous options, Gutenberg, the classic editor and Elementor.
Let’s assume you have a company or client that makes around $5 mio revenue a year and needs a new website. What CMS do you chose?
If you need a page builder experience you would chose WP + Gutenberg or Elementor. With basic SEO like Yoast you have around $99 licensing costs a year for Elementor and that ‘s it. Sure, you need hosting, but a basic plan for some bucks somewhere would do that. You need a shop? Let’s add WooCommerce for additional $0.
Let’s go with Webflow as a competitor. What comes for free in Wordpress will cost money in Webflow. If you want unbranded E-Mails, you’ll need to pay at least $84 per month for the eCommerce Plus plan.
Other functionality you may need costs some extra bucks. And you’re locked in.
Let’s assume you want to make a headless page. With ACF now being almost included in the core and faust.js (yes, from WPEngine), you have a scaleable CMS with a great eco system for free. Especially in the headless world there is no real alternative. Strapi is cool, but not for that purpose. Any chage in the data model needs downtime and a redeployment and some other stuff. Directus will cost a lot as you need to get their enterprise plan with that revenue. Contentful and other enterprise CMS often are too expensive as well.
Sure, there are also a lot of other CMS out there. But you always have to keep in mind what you want to offer and also need to “sell” a CMS to your clients. If they have bad UX, it sucks. If it has bad DX, your devs will hate it.
Yes, $2k a year or $5k should be okay for your clients to pay if they make 2-5 mio revenue a year. But for some this is a knock out criteria if you ask them to add that price tag in addition to your services. Some will laugh about the price tag, others will decline your services for that.
Especially you will get locked in into these SaaS CMS. With wordpress you’re locked in as well, but it has a REST and GraphQL-API, you can migrate data relatively easy and you’re free where to host. EU enterprise customers may have some issues with US providers as of Patriot Act and GDPR, even if it’s hosted at EU servers.
Yes, my post is over simplified as a whole strategic paper would have so many slides or a 1 hour talk. But in my opinion picking Wordpress in 2024 and for sure 2025, still strategically is a good pick.
I’m not only talking about technical limitations, pricing only, dev experience and what theme is better, but about a strategical pick in the case you’re going to sell services for the next years to your clients.
Imagine picking a CMS, sell a website plus CMS to your client and then they change their licensing model and you don’t get any updates anymore (see Direcuts…). I feel relatively confident that this won’t happen with Wordpress.
About me: I’m a professional consultant and have worked in Germany and the US (currently) for big enterprise and small clients in the past 13 years. I’m using multiple CMS like Wordpress, Contentful, Strapi, Directus and Crownpeak on a daily basis.
I’m very open for discussion as many of you might have the same problem right now.
Like that...
They show part of the content, like a sample, and then place the login link.
Hi,
So I'm currently trying to figure out any way to avoid having to pay for Wordpress business. I do know that you can download the site migration plugin that Siteground offers on WordPress to make this process simple but I would rather avoid paying if there's a viable solution. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know and thank you.
I was going to probably use ACF Pro and FacetWp but then someone recommended a Food plugin for recipes and maybe I just don't need to complicate my life since they kind of have what I am looking for ? But at the same time. I really don't want to use a plugin if I don't need to. So I am sitting on the fence on what to do ?
I've written some posts on wordpress and when I search myself on google it doesnt come up - its there any way I could make myself accessible on Google if someone was to search my content? thank you!
Looking at these usage statistics from BuiltWith.com, I think people are finally waking up and jumping the ship:
Looking forward to my next few weeks ruined, Might as well just ask my wife for a divorce at this point. I can't wait to migrate the rest of our sites away.
visitors experience a problem on the product page. Initially, they are able to scroll up and down without any issues. However, after approximately one minute, the page freezes and becomes unresponsive to scrolling or further interactions.
