Hi all I wanted to go for a sign heavy build using the griffin set. I'm currently level 17 and the sins are borderline useless (shokwave level 2 deals about 30 damage if I am lucky) I was wondering if I was just too early to benefit from this playstyle ?
I'm thinking about switching to a melee build with bear armor cause I just feel weak
Anyone who has suggestions for some great mods for witcher 3? and also if my notebook will be able to run them
Like the title says. Is this just a plot contrivance? It’s not a huge deal or anything, but I just started the quest where you meet Triss at her rented apartment and her husband & wife landlords kick her out — Geralt tells her to save her own skin, and Triss is like “I can’t abandon my own! You see what’s happening in the city!”
Can’t these mages take care of themselves? Can’t these mages just leave and go somewhere else? Literally just teleport away?
Just something im thinking about — would love to hear some theories for or against my proposition.
Just finished my first playthrough of the the witcher 3 after saying I would play it since release. I played on death march and outside of the first couple hours alchemy and equipment management completely trivialized the game. To the point I would say it was too easy. I did do all optional missions and exploration of an area before carrying on with the story. And in no way am I trying to be a " I can't believe people think this is hard it's so easy" type of guy. But after struggling for the first few hours, I found my self actively trying to make my game harder( not using any signs, potions or bombs) and other things like that. The right decoctions and ability alloyment make the game a pure power fantasy with little risk of ever dying. Is this a consensus feeling within the community or was that just a product of taking my time and "getting good" at the beginning when I didn't have a grasp on the other mechanics
I'm trying to reach lvl 100 in my first playthrough so i can mess around without level restrictions in NG+ and get all gear at max lvl.
I'm on Playstation so no mods or commands available but i don't really mind the grind for now.
I'm using the destroyed bastion wraiths but i've noticed that my xp gain is a lot less now (at lvl 84) then when i started.
At the moment it's still acceptable, but i'm afraid it will get even worse the closer i get to lvl 100. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I tried the infinite drowner method and it might be faster/better but i feel the bastion (at least atm) is a more chill way to grind. I didn't really care for the constant fear of drowning and noises Geralt makes...
My pc can handle the RT on witcher 3 pretty well imo. The highest fps i get is like 88 fps and lowest , weirdly not in densely populated towns but in random certain tiny parts of a forest , is like 60-55 fps. The avg i get is 77-70 fps. Those lows are still are playable framerates but idk.. For me, the RT is the most noticeable indoors, the lighting and the shadows look a lot more realistic with it on. Idc about the outside tho , the water looks acceptable to me too. With RT off , ultra plus settings , I am getting 120-140 fps.
This got me curious, how do you guys play witcher 3 ? With RT on or off ?
Hi! I have never played the game and was wondering how it would handle on an Xbox series S? Does it hold up well with the update or should I not bother until I eventually get a series X?
2nd playthrough romancing triss without the alternate look, now doing 3nd playthrough wanted to romance yen while equipping alternate look for everyone, met triss and instantly got distracted by her dress. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I tried finding a post about it on this sub but no luck. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this before? Sorry I don't have recording software installed on my Pc to post a clip.
I'm on my third playthrough now but it's my first on Pc. So I'm wandering around clearing out "?" and I come across treasure with a bear guarding it and I noticed that when it runs towards me and I just stand still and do nothing it will turn back around and run the opposite direction, repeating until I move again.
Is this a bug or a feature?
I died, I reloaded, this happened!
After 86 hours 29 minutes I finished the base game. Still some more to explore and some gwent cards still to find, but the main quests are done. Going to get started on the DLC next
This game is incredible, the emotional highs and lows really got me as well. I got about the happiest ending I could have hoped for, after the game tried to get me to believe I was going to get the saddest ending.
I won't go into specifics because I don't know how to not spoil things, but I just can't believe how this went. Still so much more to do
I've just started my 9th playthrough, and I needed something different to mix things up a bit. So this playthrough I'm doing a 'Death March, no Quen' playthrough, and I'm really enjoying it so far. My previous 8 playthroughs, apart from my first, have all been on Death March, but I've always relied heavily on Quen. Has anyone else done a 'Death March, no Quen' playthrough?
So am completely new to the game but am wondering...wherever i searched it said that the witcher gear sets are considered the best
Yet when i sometime find armor with higher level requirement and obviously much better base protection than witcher gear ( evem Grandmaster ones )
Whys that, that witcher gear is still considered better than these armors?
So if you know anything about Dijkstra and you played the Radovid side quest out to it's end, you know Dijkstra makes a crazy out of character decision. However, I've been watching too many crazy A Song of Ice and Fire theories and now my brains geared to see plots on plots on plots.
So, when all was said and done, our Geralt meets the blue stripes at a theatre and Dijkstra makes his big, dumb reveal on a stage, even playing up the theatrics of it. Whats more, it's not just any stage but the very one where an earlier (main?) quest has you go to get the attention of a dopler.
Now why, first of all, assemble at a theatre and not, say, at the docks to escape or out of town in the secluded hideout? And why, set it at a theatre that has up until this point only existed, iirc, to serve a subplot involving a doppler?
If you haven't put the pieces together yet, I'm suggesting Dijkstra faked his death. Either he used a body double or hired a doppler to make a theatrical speech, promising lots of cash and lots of gaurds to keep him safe.
I haven't played the game in a while, let alone this quest so maybe I'm forgetting something important here but I've convinced myself. Just seems like such a specific place for such a mastermind to act so out of character.
Hi all,
So I've "completed" the quest, but it isn't showing up in my completed tab (I'm aware this is a known bug). However, what I wanted to ask is, if it won't show up as complete, is that going to prevent me from getting the trophy and thus as a consequence, not be able to get the platinum? If so, what can be done about it please? Thanks.
For the past month or two i've been playing this game obsessively (now 160hrs on this one playtrough). Been having a great time with it and this is easily a top 2 game i've ever played. Even went as far as to explore every single question (pre b&w areas). But i feel like ranting about the last missions of b&w.
So I get Syanna out of the fableland and got the ribbon wich saved her life. As soon as I had finished b&w I went back a save to see what would happen if I didn't get the ribbon. Was pleased to see my actions had consequences and that she died. I "spared" Detlaff because i wanted to see what changes and oh boy.
I seriously get thrown into prison to rot after i SAVED the bloody city!? Because i brought Syanna to Detlaff, the vampires stopped their massacre and left. The price i had to pay was Syanne but after all she was a serial killer and only 1 person. I know the people she got killed weren't good but you can't go around blackmailing one of the most powerfull beings and killing people. Likely hundreds of innocents died in the massacre because of Syanne.
I could understand if it was only the duchess who wanted me imprisoned after i failed to protect her sister (like you could protect someone from a vampire) but even Damien said he wanted me to rot till the end of times even tough i saved everyone by letting one murderous monster die!
On another note why the hell didn't the duchess let Syanna go to meet Detlaff!? Even Syanna herself agreed she should do it. Did the duchess not understand what Detlaff would so if Syanne was not to show up? Did she not already understand that vampires are not something humans can kill or handle in any way? Btw ive never been so mad in witcher than when she compared vampires to foxes after explaining vampires capabilities.
So by locking Syanna to the fableland she just indirectly but knowingly killed hundreds of her subjects. Is she not complicit in the massacre in some regards since she actually had the power to prevent it or should i say she actively made it possible to happen? And here i thought she was a good ruler.
Additionally Henrietta dosen't even want her sister to be held accountable for her actions all because "shes my sister" and better that everyone else automatically i guess. AND even after i tell to her face that Syanne still wants to kill her she just lays down her guard and gives Syanna the opportunity to do it. Wich is in my opinion a huge missed opportunity. Why not have so that by doing the extra detective work you can warn and prevent the duchess' murder from happening or atleast change the way it happens?
Weirdest part about all that is that the duchess hadn't have seen Syanna for decades if she was banished as a child. So she really dosen't know her sister anymore and even the sister she did know was according to the diary, not the perfect person she see her as. I guess she really is just delusional putting her own blood over everything and everyone.
Tldr: ranting why everyone and especially Henrietta are so mad that i saved hundreds of lives by failing to protect one (who is a serial murderer and the one directly responsible for the massacre).
I recently got the game and updated my GPU, then applied the recommended settings. At first, the FPS was skyrocketing to 300, making the game unplayable. To fix this, I set a limit of 120 FPS using the NVIDIA app, which worked fine.
However, there were still some stutters between scenes, and the gameplay occasionally felt choppy. I updated the NVIDIA app settings by changing Low Latency Mode to Ultra and Power Management Mode to "Prefer Maximum Performance." This improved things, but I still notice occasional cuts during gameplay.
I've also tried turning V-Sync on and off, but the issue persists. Honestly, l'm a novice when it comes to GPU settings, and I'm hoping someone in the community can help me. Thank you!
I’m trying to get the trophy “The enemy of my enemy” and the enemy that i control has just started doing no damage. Is there some kind of soft cap and if so how do i reset it?
Nothing else is that authentic why'd they have to go and make us suffer😭
