Win Deck = Steam Deck running Windows
/r/WinDeck
So I created a windows 10 bootable sd card (because I didn’t want to partition my ssd) and I’m wondering would it be possible to upgrade to windows 11 without having to go through making a whole new bootable sd. Just natively upgrade
Hi I’m new to windows on steamdeck. I’ve got it dual booted on a portable 1tb ssd. The main goal is being able to do Xbox game pass and ps5 remote play. I’m currently stuck when trying to use the steam deck handheld while playing. Has anyone got a guide or tips? I tried a version of glossc but couldn’t get it to work. Thanks
Edit: removed out of respect for the devs. Sorry folks. Once a pirate always a pirate eh? What I can say of EmuDeck for Windows so far is it is amazing, and what u/EmuDeck mean by it's not ready for primetime is it simply just doesn't have the full emulator set or the GUI we got in EmuDeck 2.0 but it's very close to parity with EmuDeck 1 and its near, if not identical folder structure should make syncing between Deck and Windows a breeze, which is amazing,

Hi,
I’m considering removing steamOS altogether and just running windows, will I lose out on (bios)updates?
I am on Windows 11, whenever I try to join a world or server the game crashes after a few seconds. It doesnt crash when I play fabric or when I try hosting a server from the deck. Does anyone have a similiar issue or any way to fix it?
I have windows 10 on my steam deck, can you update it to windows 11 with no prob? Or do I have to go through the whole process like when I did with windows 10?
The title. Says it all but if u need more information to be able to help me out pls let me know and I'll do the best I can to provide u with the info u r asking for
EDIT:
so I was told this post was lacking information that would be required for most of you to try and help me find a solution so I'm just going to copy and paste the answers to some questions I was asked in the comments section below just in case that helps.
I believe the format for the SD cards should be either ntfs or ext4 although I have tried to reformat them a bunch to get them to work.
One is a SanDisk and the other one might be a sketchy knockoff although I'm not too sure,
One literally stopped working while I was using my deck while I was downloading stuff to both my internal drive as well as the SD card in question
The other one I honestly can't remember when it stopped working but I think maybe after I tried to reformat it or something along those lines
The SanDisk SD card is not recognized at all and doesn't show up in the desktop mode at all while the other SD card does in fact show up in the desktop mode and seems to be recognized
The SD cards both are either completely empty or pretty close to it and they both have a max storage capacity of 1 TB
And they stopped working one after the other, I bought the non-sandisk micro sd card after the SanDisk one stopped working and just received the new one yesterday but the new one also stopped working yesterday which was the day I received it.
Hope this helps and sorry for not putting all this in the post in the first place if u need any more information please feel free to ask and I'll do the best I can to give u an answer
Thx again, have a great rest of your day, and stay safe.
SteamOS has Windows support now! From what I can tell, the preliminary drivers have 3 main issues:
Let me know what you all think past that. I'm Q1, so I'll be excited to be using Windows on this thing once it comes in!
