is it like nosleep where it has to be like 10000 words minimum or you can't post it or something? and what if it's too long? How do I know to make it into like a part 2? also can stories here be third person cause I like actual books in third person and i want to write in third person too I don't really like first person except goosebumps and animorphs.
I think it was posted 1-2 years ago? It was a series, I think.
This girl was in an abusive relationship and met this thing that said if she fed it, it'd grant her a wish. So she kept feeding it and feeding it and eventually it had her feed her abusive boyfriend to it, and that's when the wish was granted; the creature spit back up the boyfriend and he was no longer abusive.
I really liked that story made by lightingnations and I was pleasantly impressed, so I made a video on youtube about it. Thank you very much, and we are still waiting for stories like this from you!

on the recommendation of poppy_moonray i have posted here
Murder of Crows is a series featured on Wholesomenosleep and a couple other subreddits. It is about a talking crow and his adventures solving deaths with supernatural and horrifying mysteries.
Just wanted to get some reactions and measure some interest! Not sure how the copyright thing comes into play here, as the characters are all original within the established mythos.š I'm currently in the middle of writing this and here are two excerpts from what I've written so far.Ā Thank you so much in advance!
I'd love to have it narrated eventually, but since I personally sound like a frog choking a goose eating a waffle, I would definitely source this out to a REAL narrator! Lol! Anyway, here goes...
(1st)....Our contact, Samantha Lockheed, has been a welcome liaison to get us acclimated to this world and itsā¦peculiarities. Being familiar with us as Cybertronians, and having worked with the previous company of Autobots, she has been a godsend in navigating any terrain we need to accomplish our objectives and maintain our covert status.Ā Ā Ā
Incidentally, she had told me about her creatureā¦.sorry, herā¦.pet, I think she called it? Whatever you humans call the companionship of another species. Sorry, I've only been here a few weeks, so some of the terminology is still uploading. She describes her pet as a ādog". Iāve seen pictures on her communication device. Her name is Ginger. That's how I know at least what I'm looking at now, hanging around our neck of the woods. A dog. That must be what this is. Itās a lot bigger than her dog, mostly due to the way it stands, I guess. Itās quite feral and foul-smelling, so it doesnāt seem to belong to anybody. The others haven't seen it, and honestly, itās probably better that way. They would just tell me to get rid of it, or not to interact with it. And theyād be right, of course. But there's just something so endearing about itās curiosity.Ā This poor thing must have been through some extremely rough times, looks like it hasn't eaten for at least a few cycles. It may not be pretty, but it sure is brave. Most of the creatures on this planet are terrified of us, humans included. But I feel like this dog senses that we're not from this world. Maybe thatās why he's taken such a liking to me. I've even been able to touch it, when it gets close enough. Heāll get down on four legs and stare almost motionlessly at his reflection in my chassis, the parts that are still shiny and not caked in mud, at least. Then he'll justā¦linger, his bulging, white eyes unblinking, almost entranced, swaying slightly from side to side. That's my chance! I have to be gentle as I stroke itās fur, careful that my big metal hands donāt damage itās horns. I think I'll call him Scruffā¦
Ā Ā Ā Ā āTrackout!ā came Wildchargers voice through the trees, causing Scruff to take off, bounding into the thicker parts of the forest. āFinally got word from Samantha, says she needs a lift! Itās not scheduled, but she says she needs an unplanned meeting with us. She sounded upset, said she'd like to meet us here. I told her Iād send a car overā¦you up for It?ā
Ā Ā Ā āSounds good to me! You know I don't need an excuse to go for a drive!ā I was already in my alt mode before I even finished replying. .....
And the 2nd except...
Ā Ā Ā (2nd)
āEyes up!!ā came Wildchargers urgent warning. A small dark spot had appeared in the distance, an aircraft moving at high speed toward us. We all slowed down to just below the speed limit.
āThat's a military drone!ā Samantha exclaimed, peering through her binoculars out of my windshield. āIs that one of them?ā
āScour, the Paraconsā eye in the sky,ā hissed Sidefire. āI've got my tracers locked on his position. Five other signatures incoming!ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā āSidefire, stand down!ā barked the commander. You had to be decisive with her, or she'd initiate a firefight before you could shift gears. āAutobots, hold your positions!ā
WHHHOOOOOOOSH!!! In a flash, Scour flew right over us and continued on, apparently unaware of our presence. Rounding a curve in the distance ahead of us, a convoy of vehicles came slowly into view, approaching at a moderate, unhurried speed.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āTrackout! Proceed to the right lane and prepare to break off. If this gets ugly, you and Samantha hightail it out of here! The rest of you, beta formation!ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Wildcharger, SwingArm, Holeshot, Sidefire and Slix all closed ranks, creating a barrier between us and the ācons, as I slowly moved toward the roadās shoulder. Suddenly, Sidefire's distressed voice came through the comm.
Ā Ā Ā āCommander! Iām detecting multiple organic vital signatures! They'veā¦I think they've got humans on board!!ā
āWhat?!?ā he responded, expressing the shock we all felt. āScan and confirm!ā
There was a moment of silence immediately followed by a familiar buzz: the discharge of Energon scanners and other detection devices in unison.
Ā Ā Ā āā¦ā¦.scanning,ā she said at length. āConfirmed! Identifications positive: Paracons, Decepticon special forces, unit 522! Designations: Threshkill, Crackdown, SkipTrace, Slidewinder and Deepsix, with Scour in the air!! Also confirmed: 9 human lifeforms, with several others; Im getting some major distortion on these vital readings, but it appears they've got hostages!!ā
Ā Ā Ā āHold positions and initiate defensive schematics! DO NOT ENGAGE,ā ordered Wildcharger.Ā Samantha expressed exactly what I was thinking in that moment.
Ā Ā Ā āWhy would they take hostages if they didnāt know about us?ā she asked. We braced ourselves as the convoy closed the distance between us.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Clearly, discretion hadnāt ranked very highly on their list of priorities, as their bulky, heavily armed military Earth vehicle modes rumbled past us in the opposite direction. The awe upon the faces of the surrounding drivers confirmed that this was a spectacle of considerable proportions, even by human standards. Itās a wonder they hadnāt attracted the attention of the highway authorities already!
Ā Ā Ā Ā They roared past us unceremoniously, the humming of their engines unbroken by even so much as a stutter, as they kept up the pace without braking at all. Just as Crackdown rumbled past, however, we were met with a deafening static buzz. The sound was one familiar to me. A transmission scrambler: a short, continuous sonic pulse that makes it impossible to detect one's energon signature, when stealth is of the greatest importance. Indeed, if Sidefire's equipment hadn't been of the latest, state of the art technology, together with her own innovative upgrades, we likely wouldn't have been able to detect them at all!
Ā Ā Ā Ā āWhat gives?ā asked Swingarm, incredulously, as we all continued forward, slowing our pace considerably.Ā
āTheyāre using scramblers, powerful ones! Scrap! My receivers are still glitching,ā answered Sidefire, actually more annoyed than relieved. āBut, that also means they couldnāt have been using detectors themselves; so either they didn't SEE us, or they didnāt CARE.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā āTrac, if they were using scramblers, how was she still able to find them?ā asked Samantha.
āBecause Iām very, very good at my job,ā responded Sidefire through my radio.
Ā Ā āAlso, she's crazy,ā I added.
āAlso Iām crazy.āĀ
There was an author I used to love reading on this sub, I canāt remember their name or if theyāre even still on reddit, but their stories were amazing! I can remember the names of 4 stories: -sin eater -graveyard tree -corpse picker -flower girl If anyone can help me out (or has a link to these stories) I would be ever so thankful!!
Does anyone have any book recommendations that have the same vibe as wns stories?
I am so grateful to everyone who has read my story and made it my most liked story. I was afraid it wouldn't quite fit but there has been so much love. Just wanted to say my writing has been justified after being dismissed for so long. THANK YOU!
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know that I just launched a new sub dedicated to Christmas stories. If you have any please send them to r/christmasstories.
Thanks.
Maybe itās like this every year near the holiday season and I havenāt been around long enough to recognize the pattern but it seems like WNS has slowed down quite a bit. Is this a seasonal thing?
Hello.
I am looking for any Wholesomely scary Christmas stories to narrate the holiday season. If you have any please send them to r/CreepyGeeksta here on Reddit.
Thanks,
CG
I have a question for my fellow writing enthusiasts. When writing stories under the general umbrella theme of āhorrorā, do you gravitate to less-trodden subjects (for originality sake), or do you just take the ideas and inspiration as they come to you?
If this isnāt the place to post this, I understand if it is deleted. I just wanted to ask other readers and writers their thoughts on something. I love wholesomenosleep and the group and readers have been very kind to me for reading and commenting on my stories.
The thing is, while this genre seems to be a niche for me, I write other things too. When I write a story that doesnāt fit in the accepted parameters of this Reddit, I have the displeasure of trying to find another home for it. In my experience itās a crapshoot to do that. I read the rules and feel that my submission fits and post, only to be told that they (the moderators) do not agree. Instead of just leaving my story and allowing the members to democratically decide (through the upvote system) they just remove it based on their preference. Thatās their prerogative but Iām finding it hard to accept the heavily regimented, razor thin bandwidth that many of these other subreddits limit submissions to. Are there no Reddit groups with just good stories as a focus, (with a significant, active reader base)
