What role or influence does punk rock play in their music?

I know that Jack has said that he discovered The Stooges LP in a trash bin and then the guy who trained him to be an upholsterer showed him Black Flag. Is that it?

Did Jack just go nuts for punk early in life? Did he like The Germs etc.?

I just wanted to share my/our mashup (I am Count Tobicula, but the band I had with my best friend was "Glamatory") of the most infamous White Stripes song and a "New German Wave" classic from the 1980's with you.
