I had the ULLR iPhone app and had to wipe my phone recently and lost it. I tried to redownload it but it looks like the app is no longer maintained by the developer and is no longer available on the app store (also read something online where the developer mentioned this). I read something about how you can still access the offline copy of the map via Avenza maps but I couldn't find it on there. If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.
I see that they have the map still accessible via a website but hoping to get an offline copy since it's more reliable to use.
I can't find a definitive answer from any recent season - does Whistler do any deals on passes come Black Friday, multi-day or otherwise? Thanks!
edit: Thanks people. Not surprised, I guess. Down here in WA, quite a few of our hills offer Black Friday deals, so I'm trying to consider where and when to spend this year (first year without a 'local' pass - Indy Pass & day tix only).
After inputting my email and phone #, the continue button hasn't actually made me continue onto the next page. I could not find any information about this issue and the support bot was incredibly useless. Has anyone else had this issue?
Absolutely gutted that the Whistler village grocery store no longer has those big tubs of Hornby energy balls. Those things were the frickin bee’s knees.
Hello!
My husband and I (both 33) will be coming to Whistler (from Australia) for the start of our Honeymoon trip (heading to Vegas after Whis) so we’re after some recommendations on what to do!
Bonus points for some Vancouver suggestions too!
I should also mention I did work in Whistler for a couple seasons but that was a good 11 years ago now so I’m sure things have changed! Haha
We’re in Vancouver for 2 nights before going to Whistler for 7 nights. We got a 4 day ski pass so we have some days to chill/do some touristy things.
What are the best things to do these days? What comes to mind are the below but totally happy for any / all other suggestions!
Oh I’d love suggestions on the food/bar places to check out. We’re not super foodie people but we enjoy decent food, I think we’d try book somewhere for Christmas Eve to make it special.
I remember Dusty’s used to be good and also longhorns for apres, still good? We do like to drink but I’m not sure we’d go as far as heading to moe joes if that’s even still a thing haha
Thank you!
Hi all sorry I know this is a cypress question but there's way more people here than in the Cypress group and I know most people goto both mountains, so hopefully someone can help me here!
M looking at purchasing lift tickets for my kiddo 2/17-2/21 and I saw the SkyCards, which is supposed discounted, at $182 for 5 days. But if I just purchase the tickets individually, 1 for each of the 5 days, the total is only $135?? Am I missing something? Or that's just the case with kid's and I am better off just buying 5 individual tickets?
I checked the multi-day youth camps and none of the dates work for us, we can only do 2/17-2/21. But I somehow found the 'group lessons' here with the link that's really tucked away, but it seems to let me pick any dates. Does this actually work, and something would I just buy 5 different group lessons for each day of the week? Since it only lets me pick a start date and not an 'end date'?
Thank you all!!!
Unless it's by design, the old system was way, way better. You could actually get information from them rather than random shots looking around the hill.
here's what we're getting now vs before:
instead of showing a lineup at Creekside we get a new angle with a view into people's apartments.
a snowstake that no longer has a proper timelapse feature.
whacked out blackcomb cam that looks like it's being operated by an 8 year old on adderall.
no more timestamps on the cameras.
I'll take a grainy lower resolution which actually gives you information over these. I miss the old system.
My son and I will be there in late February. Planning on renting stuff since we’re on the east coast and our stuff is more suitable for the crappy ice fields here. I ski (intermediate); he snowboards (crazy fool). What’s the best place to arrange equipment rentals that deliver to our hotel in the village—and should we bring our own boots or not?
Hi there. We’re planning to go to whistler this December to enjoy the festivities and beautiful nature. We’re bringing our dog and 1 year old so nothing too crazy. I’m wondering if I’ll have a hard time with our dog, seeing as it’ll be cold. My main concern being that there’s plenty of places that allow dogs inside so he can warm up every now and then. Of course he’ll be well insulated with coat and booties but I like having backup plans. Any insight?
Thanks!
We’re mostly East Coast / Killington skiers, staying at the Aspens condos, got our passes , skiing 3 days. We’re all lifelong skiers of Intermediate skill, not a lot of powder experience in the last 20 years (see: Killington), and we really don’t get much more than 6 -9 days a season in lately. Can’t imagine we’re going to hit a lot of Diamonds while we’re there.
Anything we should be aware of, prepare for, to avoid?
Hey, I’m planning a trip from Vancouver to whistler next week. Is there any snow on the road right now? I got snow chains but honestly never had a chance to use them before. Tires are M+S as well.
Looking for any recommendations for an elopement ceremony spot either in Whistler or Pemberton besides the Stone Circle.
Hi guys, I'll be in Whistler for the upcoming weekend, I'd like to hit a pub or bar to watch the Real Madrid v Barcelona game. Do you have any bars/pubs you reckon the game will be broadcasted?
Thanks!!
We getting a new movie theater yet?
For those of you that have done the dinner cat/mobile tours, is the food good, is it worth the ~$300 price tag, and is it memorable or gimmicky? Looking for a cool dinner experience for a group of friends that are visiting! These ladies are well traveled, many of us have been on snowmobiles or cat skiing before, and we are not looking to spend $300 on something with bad food or is over the top gimmicky. We do love how intimate and unique the experience looks! We would rather hit brickworks and spend our money there if the experience isn't all that for the price. Hoping for some great feedback, and if you have any other recommendations I'm all ears!
Thinking about heading to whistler with some family for spring break first week in April this year. 2 families, 6 young kids, 2 adults in total. Taking a chance on that late in the season but have read great things about whistler late season. Did Breck last year at the same time and got really lucky with the weather, so hoping for a repeat.
Half the group are novice skiers, our family are decent but just want to make sure the other family has a great time, so we aren't looking for anything technical, just to have fun. Anyone have recommendations on where to stay, family activities, anything for first timers in the area. More worried about where to look to stay.
Thanks in advance for any help provided!
Hello everybody,
I am looking for a seasonal job in Whistler for the 24/25 winter season and I need some help.
I am living in Germany and since I just finished High School here I would like to do some work and travel in Canada. I already got a working permit and a visa, but I'm still looking for a job. These are my basic qualifications:
-fluent in both written and spoken English due to me spending an entire schoolyear at a Canadian High School
-licensed skiing instructor in Germany
-1 full season of experience as a server and 2 full seasons of experience as a barkeeper
I already applied to the whistler blackcomb resort but they declined my application.
So my question would be if anyone on here would know a few bars I could apply to to work for the winter 24/25 season?
Hey all!
So, I applied for a ski instructor job with Vail and after submitting the application, I was asked to do a candidate assessment. Which I did, only to then receive several email reminders that I still need to to the assessment, with a link to it. But when I clicked the link, the page showed "you already applied to this position". So I have basically no idea if my assessment went through and they're just taking a while to get back to me, or my entire application is stuck in a limbo.
Has anyone been in this situation? Any tips what to do? I sent an email to recruiting@vailresorts.com but they have yet to get back to me, any other way I can get in touch with them?
Also, how long after applying to they usually get back to people? I applied on October 11th (10 days ago), do you guys think there's any chance they did get the application and are just taking their time?
Thanks in advance!
Hey I am headed to Whistler and need some new hiking shoes. Maybe some Salomon’s. I was wondering if there is anywhere is Whistler or surrounding areas I can buy them? Thanks so much.
So, what’s a left leaning voter to do tomorrow. I guess we need to vote strategically. Happy to vote green or NDP, but worried about vote splitting.
ETA why the hell is this tagged “ask Vancouver”. I’m removing my question marks to see if that fixes it.
Ciao everyone, so I see that epic pass seems to have dates of being able to be used around the end of the first week of November but whistlers open is around the 22nd of November.
Im just wondering whether the epic pass dates are more notional and actually can be used as soon as whistler opens.
Thanks for any responses!

The way the parking system works is very outright backward because the parking is free from 5:00 PM until 8:00 AM but then if you want to pay for the next day's 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the evening then that is NOT allowed in which case your only option is to either use the app in the morning before 8:00 AM or go to the parking meter and buy a ticket, why can't they just allow people to pay for one or two days just at once or keep the meters running the night so people can pre pay for the next day's ticket.
People come to whistler for vacation and are expected to manage parking early in the morning at 7 am?
