This episode was too much! I don’t usually rewatch episodes immediately but it was a must for Come Out and Play.
In these past few episodes they just bicker all the time. And it always goes similarly- Laszlo does something innocuous, Nadja screams at him, Laszlo reveals that it wasn’t innocuous and he is patronizing, telling her she needs protection, Nadja gets angrier. Rinse and repeat.
I don’t want to be too quick to say I hate it, because I also hated the third season, but loved it after the finale. Sometimes this show can be unpredictable and frustrating until you understand where they’re going with things. And the thematic reason for it. And I understand the theme of eternal life making things pointless, that they don’t develop or grow and will stay the same for thousands and thousands of years, but this bothers me because it doesn’t seem like behavior we’ve ever seen before?? They’ve reverted to a version of them that was added retroactively with Jerry.
Laszlo is protective, since he stayed with Collin Robinson and that whole arc, but he’s never been so patronizing about it. He did send Guillermo with Nadja, but he didn’t insinuate so clearly that Nadja can’t take care of herself. And Nadja has never been so particularly angry at Laszlo. She has gotten angry and been dramatic but I can’t remember a time that they were directed at Laszlo in this way. Maybe it’s that sitcom syndrome where all the characters become shells of themselves, and act uncharacteristically because they’ve been boiled down to two or three traits??
The last episode has to be the greatest episode in the series
I've seen every episode this season I double checked but why is Nandor hitting on The Guide so much in this new episode?
Just rewatching season 5 now in anticipation for the new season and have just spotted it says that season 6 will finally be released in the UK on the 17th December!
Just seen the new season will be on Disney + on December 17th so not long to wait!
The monster
Laszlo and Colin Robinson's relationship
Guillermo as an office worker
How they're trying to show more of Colin Robinson hanging around with others (Like when he went to Guillermo's office or when Nadja and he went to his friends house)
Laszlo and Nandor being closer than ever and spending time together (when they were trying to help Sean)
How they didn't make the last season all about saying goodbye and sad moments
Laszlo and Sean's conversation when Sean was in hospital bed
The emotional development in every character
Another episode with Nandor talking Farsi
Guillermo randomly showing up with his towel
I texted last week super excited about the infamous Mr Democracy Manifest reference: succulent Chinese meal.
This week I loved the Warriors tribute.
But I almost missed another 2 references to Mr Democracy Manifest: I see you know your judo well and Unhand me.
Very good episode, happy to see they are ending the show on a high note.
Jerry’s dead. Rip Jerry. You were there.
CAN VAMPIRES DIE FROM NORMAL THINGS??? IS IT NOT JUST STAKES AND SILVER AND ORGANIZED RELIGIONS??? Like if you stab one in the brain will they die? How’s this work?
Enough said. Who would you watch?
The Cameo in episode S06E09 made my whole year! I found myself standing and clapping in a room by myself. thanks for that surprise E.N.
Ive had this idea for a while but after the latest episode I think it might actually be a possibility. He could be leading the fight against the impending vampire take over of the new world. He knows about vampires now and it was never shown he got hypnotized to forget them. His sidekick could be Craig Robinson, would be easy to bring in Guillermo too for a couple episodes throughout the series. Possibly bring back Jenna or her roommate as well to round out the cast.
Miguel is such a great character in this show and i think has what it takes to be lead especially if he’s partnered with someone like Craig.
Nandor in S5E10:
"Just as I feared. Guillermo is not cut out to be a vampire... I will fix."
Is it just me, or is "I will fix" as good or better than "As you wish" when it comes to declarations of love? 🫠
Hope we all find that person/persons who look at our problems and say, "I will fix"
Season 3 watching Colin Robinson and Laslo become friends and then Laslo becoming baby Colin Robinsons "father" in season 4 made my heart grow 3times its size. The most random and weird yet heart warming duo on television. I love them lol
You say that you want to live long…. I love it!!
This season doesn’t feel like the final season.
In the most recent episode what I like the most was seeing Guillermo use his Van Helsing blood, but overall it feels like the writing has gone down.
The whole thing with nandor and the guide makes no sense. It’s like they are creating new plot lines without addressing old ones?
And, having Nadja and Laszlo fight every other episode makes no sense to me? It’s like it’s continuously wanting to make it seem like Nadja is nitpicking what Lazlo says and does. Which is the total opposite of her early character from the past seasons??
I don’t know I feel like they’ve kind of wanted to tackle too much all at once, without having a real sense of direction or overarching arch?
I can’t hide spoilers so I’ll just cryptically ask: what role did the first person listed in the guest credits at the end of tonight’s episode play?
no spoilers just that it was VERY FUNNY FINALLY (i mean i love it all but this one felt like old seasons) —- laugh out loud stuff esp Nadja!! 🔥EDIT - i was talking about last weeks episode not realizing one came out 12/2 - 😂😂BUT THAT ONE IS equally amazing (maybe even better!!) (now i understand some of these comments haha)
