Other places known as 'West Bank' around the world

I'm an American visiting Palestine and Israel. I was wondering if I needed to bring/show a passport if I take a bus from Jerusalem to Bethlehem and back?

I'm excited to explore cities in the West Bank/Palestine, see some of your rich culture, and just wanted to be prepared for what I need at security/border crossings?

The IDF is the most moral and principled army in the world. Try to change my mind. Or at least beat my at one (or all) of my contentions.
