Hey guys I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on the 11rh and I need to know what do I need to get for post op, I have the medications like ibuprofen and stuff but like food wise
I recently released an app which I think has a lot of potential, but I don't have any money to market it, so I'm looking for a way to get funding. I'm living in Wenatchee and I came across NCW Tech Alliance as a local resource. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with them and if you think they'd be able to help with finding investors or publishers. I've been working solo, mainly focused on getting the app done, so I should probably start doing some sort of networking.
Also, if I can't find funding, I'll need to get a software job in the area or move to find a job. Most of the CS jobs in the area seem related to sys admin, whereas my skillset is primarily in software development with a focus on the Unity engine. Maybe some local networking would help with finding a local job as well. Let me know if you have any thoughts on how to get funding for my app or find a job in the area through networking.
Here's a link to my app on the Google Play Store in case anyone is interested. Feedback is welcome!

Does anyone have any winter activity suggestions to entertain a guest who isn’t outdoorsy? All we can think of are activities that involve drinking, so we are hoping to come up with some other options as well. TIA!
Hello Wenatchee, does Wenatchee have good free digital channels? I just moved here and my current antenna is not pulling in any channels.
Do you know the difference between Magma and Lava but would be hard pressed to answer questions about pop music or TV? Oh man, do we have the trivia for you. Grab a friend and come on down for a beer, good clean fun and prizes. See you there.
Hey there, we're coming down in a few days from Alaska to visit family. Curious on snow conditions as we were planning to bring backcountry skis and potentially cross country skis. How's the snow? It looks decent at Mission Ridge but hard to tell how it is out of bounds so any beta is appreciated!
Hi all! I'm new-ish to the area and looking to volunteer some time at a nonprofit. My main interests are related to the outdoors (skiing, hiking, fishing, climbing, etc.) and conservation. Please share your favorite nonprofit in the area and why!
It can be anywhere from Leavenworth to Wenatchee.
Been living in the area for a little over a year and haven’t had issues flying in or out of EAT in the warmer months, but this upcoming Friday I have a flight at 5am to SEA, with my connector leaving at 8am, giving me a 2hr layover. I see there’s snow in the forecast, and have heard from a handful of people that this route regularly is delayed / canceled.
Anyone have any insight on how frequently / under what conditions these routes get delayed? Not sure if I’m worrying too much or if I should start planning for an early morning drive to Seattle…
Just moved here and went to Costco for lunch and they didn't have churros but have chocolate chip cookies. Did this Costco ever have churros? Where can I get good churros?
Does anyone else see the super bright object in the sky over town tonight? It’s almost like it’s radiating light. I read something about a recent planetary alignment and am wondering if that’s what I’m seeing.
First, thank you for those who provided great input about the Wilds game last night, I had a blast.
I’m interested in hiking/snowshoeing early tomorrow, before afternoon football, and have been trying to find trail conditions online. I’m looking at the Leavenworth, Steven’s and Blewett Pass areas. I have hiked those areas in spring/summer/fall, never winter. I hike in other areas of the US outside of FS lands and I suppose since there’s so much federal/state land here that I assumed I could find info online about how much snow there is in a general area but I’m coming up short. I came prepared as far as winter hiking shoes and clothes, but I’m really curious if I should try renting snowshoes. If there’s an online weather station or website which could help me glean some info, I’d appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Yes, I could just show up and go from there but I’d like to be prepared considering I want to watch the Bills game.
Thanks for any advice!
Edit: I’m open to bar recommendations for watching the bills vs chiefs game, with volume!
Anybody have a phone number to a group who can help me with a colony of cats?
I was looking forward to connecting with people who are interested in helping our migrant neighbors and beloved orchard workers get hooked into existing advocacy services if they're picked up by mistake during the immigration crackdowns happening in WA. I liked a few comments on a recent post, went to lunch, and came back to the post being gone so totally missed out on following up with those people. I'm hoping if you commented on that post you might comment on this one, or perhaps DM me if the post was deleted by mods in case this one is too for some reason. Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I am looking for recommendations for a good lawyer so my partner and I can do his estate planning. Bonus points if they can advise us of the legal advantages or disadvantages of getting legally married or not. Time is of the essence in this situation, unfortunately. It's nothing overly complicated, we just want to have all the legal paperwork sewed up before the inevitable.
Thanks in advance.
Looking for recommendations on two different services:
First, need a decorated sugar cookie baker to make a dozen or so cookies for a kids birthday party.
Also, need a reputable jeweler for resizing my wedding bands.
Would prefer to support inclusive, progressive and local businesses or at the very least, businesses that don't feel the need to publicize and lead with their political views. Thanks!!
I called and they said no but I heard they do. Are they just playing hard ball?
Hi everyone, we are looking at buying our first home and I’m wondering how well these homes with window units cool and warm up? What’s everyone’s experience?
Hi there, I’m looking for opinions/reviews on a doctor by the name of Brock Foster? Couldn’t find any reviews on google so hoping to get some feedback here
Hello, I'm looking to get some self storage in Wenatchee for a few months. I've never used self storage before, all I need is something big enough to fit a mattress and some boxes. Glacier west looks like the most affordable option, does anyone have any experiences with them, good or bad? Is climate controlled necessary, I know it gets hot in the summer and that's when I will be wanting a unit. Recommendations on different places are welcome. Thanks!
I moved out to Washington in the June of 2023. While I've been out here, I've taken an interest in camping and hiking and have gone out and gotten some experience doing these activities. My friend from back home then introduced me to backpacking, and I think that this sounds like a really fun combination of both camping and hiking. However, since I moved here from the east coast, I really have no one to go with me as a "first run."
In my mind, I can read all the theory I want to, but that doesn't really compare to going out and getting the full experience. In case I struggle with anything, I wouldn't have anyone to rely on in case things go awry. So I was wondering if there are any trails nearby that either lead to / have social campsites along them? I can find trails with campsites on WTA.org, but - other than ratings - I have no clue if the trail is popular or not.
I'm not opposed to it, but I'm not specifically asking for someone to go with. Just recommendations for places where I know I'll be around people.
I’m looking for recommendations of any and all adult rec sports leagues or communities in the valley. I know of some but I’m looking to gather a master list for myself and for others to help find ways to stay active and engaged.
Brrrrrrrrr.
Hey everyone, I (23M) am most likely moving to Wenatchee for work at the end of the month or early February. I’m from North Carolina, so this area of the country is pretty new to me. I’m gonna be flying in with basically just as much clothing as I can cram in my suitcase, and I have a couple questions I was hoping y’all could answer
My biggest concern is about the weather. I have never lived somewhere with as low temperatures or as much snow as I believe y’all get, what are some of the biggest things I should look out for and/or purchases I should make once I get there? Literally anything, the most snow I’ve ever seen was about 6 inches so I’m entirely unprepared lol
What sort of things are there to do? I’m from Charlotte which has a population of about a million so I’m also not used to being in a relatively smaller place. Also, what does the dating scene look like for folks my age?
I’ve looked around Google street view a bit and y’all’s town looks gorgeous, I’ve only ever seen the Appalachians so being in the shadow of the Rockies is exciting. I’m big on outdoors stuff as well, and I assume there’s a lot of parks and/or hiking trails around?
Thanks everyone, I’m super excited to be moving.
Hey y'all I gotta get a tooth pulled tmrw at cvch dental and it's my very back molar and I'm scared of dentists, any tips?
Hello! I am a wildland firefighter and My fiancée and I are moving to Wenatchee in April and want to know the best areas to stay in Wenatchee. I’ve never been there let alone the PNW so I am going in blind and want to be in a spot that is either close or walking distance to fun stuff in town or close to trails but still relative access to get around and get to work on time. What is everyone’s opinion on sunnyslope or East Wenatchee? Thank You!
WM has consistently missed our recycling pickup for weeks/months now. They will usually send a truck back the next day but occasionally they tell us to just save all recycling for the next scheduled pickup.
The driver is marking it as picked up, when it’s obviously not.
Our garbage service hasn’t had any issues. I was able to speak with someone once and they said it would be fixed but obviously it hasn’t. I cannot get ahold of a human at all, and I would like to speak with someone locally.
Does anyone know how I can contact our local WM office? I tried calling the number I had (662-4591) and it’s automated only.
I'm (27M) moving to Wenatchee to start work in February! I'm from the west side, but I've lived in the midwest and Montana. I'm very active and love the outdoors. Obviously I'm really looking forward to the recreation opportunities the area has to offer.
The downside: I don't have any friends or family in Wenatchee or within a 3 hour drive. Sure, I can go visit them whenever on the weekends (passes permitting), but I'm wondering what kind of social opportunities Wenatchee has to offer.
I'm interested in joining a rec/co-ed soccer or softball league or some other sporty kind of thing. I also enjoy going to the gym.
I do drink socially and I've read the bar scene is pretty good in the area and good for meeting people. FWIW I'm pretty left-leaning in my beliefs and ideals, and I'm not religious, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Most of my friends are pretty conservative or just DGAF.
What other kind of social opportunities are there? Open to arts/crafts, open mics, etc. Actually I'm really open to anything because I want to make this area my home for the forseeable future as I build a new life coming off a long term relationship (over seven years).
Any input is appreciated!
Hey everyone. My wife and I have three kids and we live on a property in South Seattle. Our home is wonderful, but the crime, traffic and cost of living have us seriously considering a simpler life out in Wenatchee.
We have three kids and their education and safety is our top priority. I'd be continuing to work my job at Wizards of the Coast in Seattle, but remotely. Having said that I'm hoping to solicit some honest opinions about our idea.
I realize this is asking a lot, but I would sincerely appreciate any answers or perspectives. This is a major life decision for us, and we're really very nervous (and excited) for the prospect. Thank you again!
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your answers. This was tremendously helpful!
