This subreddit is for news, discussion and collaboration between current and future employees and entrepreneurs in the legal marijuana and hemp industries.
If you are an employee or entrepreneur in the legal marijuana or hemp industry (or aspire to be) then you are in the right place. Dispensary employees, cannabis entrepreneurs, growers, supply chain software developers and industry consultants are a few of the groups this subreddit is intended for.
1) No posts advertising cannabis for sale or requests for hookups. This subreddit was created to be a source of information for cannabis industry professionals, not to facilitate sale of the product.
2) No sales or advertising of any other products or services.
3) Follow the standard reddiquette
4) No bragging. Don't post photos of the dank nugs you grew or the squishy pucks you pressed. Nobody cares.
5) Respect others at all times.
6) No blogspam, low quality links, press releases or clickbait.

Hi all. Our Metrc person is out of country and I need help.
I need to create 451 packages (retail) of 5 gram out of 5 pounds of bulk flower we have. I have tried to create a new packages option and it looks like I have to manually do it 451 times.
Are there any options to do this automatically? We are in California. Thank you!
Hey all, I'm launching a business and I need a business partner. I have posted here before, and spoke with a few people but just keep getting ghosted. This is a real opportunity that services the Dispo world (I'm not opening a dispo, but developing services for them). And I need someone with deep retail leadership and experience.
We're not cash positive yet (as I'm just building it) but I have alot done! I'm willing to give equity (as I know I need a partner) and we split the earnings. This is something I'm doing on the side and I know it's going to grow. This opportunity isn't for everyone, as it's not paid (yet). But if you want to build something, and work for yourself, and have great retail management and leadership experience, then I want to talk to you!
Hey! I’m 19 and desperately want to get into the weed business. I see tons of smoke shops hiring around PDX where I live, and working in a dispensary is one of my biggest goals. What do I need to do to legally be able to apply without being 21 in Oregon? Whether in a dispensary smoke shop or elsewhere, I just wanna work weed.
Thanks!
Do you need a dispensary license if you want to start delivering cannabis? Or is getting a delivery license all you need? What other licenses / requirements do you need to start a cannabis delivery business?
Was wondering for those in marketing + sales outreach, how valuable an SMS list is for customers —- additionally, any platform red flags? I’ve heard amazing and horrible things about Klaviyo, but will most likely proceed with that option anyways
Hey all, I'm opening a new business, and I need a dispo retailer guru to help out. Are there any dispo managers or GM's in here? I have an opportunity/idea that I need some help in unpacking!
Hi, in Massachusettes they track our driver's licenses for every dispensary and we can only legally buy 1 ounce or 5 grams of concentrate per day and that's across the whole state and so your license is always counting during that day what you're buying and how much you can left. Does Michigan have the same thing or can you just go in there and do some shopping?
So I got an interview at this distribution center here in California for the central valleys dispensary but it’s a hour and 10 minutes drive from me for $16 a hour. Is the weed business worth working in I am so interested in weed and everything about it but is it a good profession to go with. Cuz I start on Monday at a welding shop (most of my work experience is in trades) closer for $20 a hour but really ain’t passionate about welding or even like it just really do it for the money. Is it worth taking the $16 a hour plus the drive for following my passion of cannabis?
My dad and I have opened a grow equipment shop in central Germany beginning of 2024 and we are trying to connect with other players on the DE/EU market. We sell equipment, fertiliser, CBD and Seeds but so far only in store. Looking to expand online. Anyone had any good experience with POS Solutions? They are giving us big time headaches.
Feel free to contact me in English or German. :)
guys, I have this super idea (found the market fit already) to develop a strain that makes you speak like BIDEN. And name the strain "BIDEN HAZE" (we all love Biden, no hate here)
Who ever has the resources, go out there and make it real and invite me to the release party or launch.
I am a long time cannabis operation consultant and recently was awarded my own cannabis license. Looking to pay it forward. A lot of interesting things are to happen over the next 12 months. I had an idea for a unique AMA series but wanted to gauge interest in it before going through the effort of getting verified and whatnot.
The idea is to have 3 or 4 separate AMAs at key points throughout the process to help others learn about the intricacies of starting a legal cannabis business. The AMA will be focused on specific phases and questions For example:
I thought it might be useful to answer questions while I am deep in the thick of each of these phases so the knowledge is fresh.
Anyway if I get 30 upvotes or comments I’ll go ahead and do it! If not, carry on.
I have 10ish lbs of some decent outdoor, that unfortunately hermed. Looking for ideas how to best use without having to remove countless seeds.. edibles, shatter (do seeds need removed?), bubble hash… any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi! What is the best way to take wholesale payments at an expo/convention when using a high-risk merchant processor?
I have a substantial amount of money for my pre-roll brand and I'm looking for a manufacturer to collab with on a white label deal. I am budgeting and setting aside a specific amount for this. I am in NY. Does anyone have experience with the costs associated with white labeling? I want to purchase the cannabis, pack the pre-rolls, and distribute them. I'm looking for a one stop shop. My pre-rolls are .4 dog walkers in a 5 pack. I'm looking to process 10,000 pre-rolls to start. Even if the costs are from another state It would be nice to know so I can start projecting. Thanks! If you are a cultivator and processor in NY hit me up :)
Looking for cannabis specific professional groups in Minnesota. I’m currently in the Michigan market and interested in possibly consulting, or even relocating to MN. Here in Michigan we have a robust Facebook group that’s been a huge help to many, hoping there may be something similar.
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone, I'm still going deeper in my research for a family owned-and-operated cultivation facility. Was wondering, among the experienced marketers and cannabis business owners/employees in the sub, who's seen great decks and marketing rollouts?
Any specific marketing examples that stuck with you to this day?
Any decks you remember or have access to that impressed you?
In California. How difficult is it to acquire? How strict is it? How often do they come to inspect your facility? How much work is it to get one’s building up to code? Any information would be appreciated 🙏🏻
Vouches and all I got u
Pretty bummed. Found out through email as I was on my way to work.
Been with the same company for a little over 5 years. Joined when they were relatively small, getting paid under the table and stuck around to see them expand and legitimize. Was apart of the logistics team and mainly worked as a delivery driver. Between hours, tips, and mileage, I was making pretty decent money, enough to get by comfortably and start a small family.
I worked all over SoCal. IE, OC, LA, SD. The area we covered was huge and I thoroughly enjoyed what I did and the customers I’ve met, places I’ve been. I showed up, worked hard, and for the most part, treated the business as if it was my own. Though I’m well aware it wasn’t. At one point I just had that much respect and was thrilled to be apart of a team that I thought had a lot of potential. I seen countless people come and go and overtime became one of the few original drivers.
Towards the end of this year it was apparent that the company wasn’t doing as well as it had and was showing signs of failing. We had layoffs, reduced hours, and the last few months I was working, alarmingly low inventory on a day to day basis which caused sales to suffer even more. I seen the writing on the wall, I was just hoping I’d make it through the holidays.
Wish I could continue to be apart of the industry but I’m not sure where my road will take me now. For those still in it, I wish you the best and good luck
We are creating a CBD beverage in Illinois, but are having difficulty finding a shared or commissary kitchen to work out of. We were told a cottage production was not an option for CBD—is this true? I get a lot of no's as soon as I mention CBD. Of course we want to do this the right way. Do dispensaries that produce edibles sometimes rent out their facility for production? We would need storage as well. Any advice?
First, I wanna thank the active and informative members of this sub, I've learned a lot today and will be coming back every day.
I'm 19 and my family managed to become a local cannabis cultivation facility in Vegas, and I've been researching trying to understand why we're not doing great and how to become better.
People here are so kind + informative but, there's this consistently negative, dreading emotion underlying everyone's posts.
Is the cannabis industry doomed right now? Why is everything so difficult for family-owned and operated sales? What do you guys think is the biggest contributor, and is there a better future coming soon?
