Is there seriously no more tickets for the Nov 10th game available š. I swear I looked a few days ago to buy and there were so many and today there are none. If so - is anyone selling? Looking for 2 tickets.
Thanks!
Hi guys! I unfortunately will be out of town for the playoff game on Nov 10 and am wanting to sell my 2 tickets without Ticketmaster making a profit. My tickets are Field Level (section F2, row 4, seats 7-8), which has all-inclusive food and drinks - located in the FanDuel VIP lounge. This includes the food buffet and alcoholic beverages (draft beer, wine, some canned cocktails), as well as non-alcoholic beverages. The lounge is only a few steps from the seats and is an amazing premium level experience :)
On Ticketmaster, the cheapest you can buy 2 field level tickets for with fees is $430 total. I am willing to sell both tickets for $190 each ($380 all in). I am happy to sell via PayPal or Venmo with the buyer protection turned on, whatever you feel most comfortable with. DM me if interested!
Now that Gotham has won, what are the tiebreaker scenarios for us to get 2nd place? I guess we must win by 1 goal or more? Is that all we need?
Hey all - I tired so many times to buy these today and the website had a melt down and then showed that there were more tickets but then I couldnāt put them in my cart. I would love to buy two if anyone has them to sell! Help! TIA

Sucks that Ouleye is still struggling, glad Hatchy is at the top of her game.
Iām excited for my first playoff game and Iād love for us to sell out, so Iāve been looking at Ticketmaster regularly to see how many tickets are left. It doesnāt seem like many, but they havenāt opened up the 100 and 200 seats.
Are they just waiting to see who we will play? Is there some sort of rule to allow for the opposing team? Usually thatās in one of the end sections but tickets have been sold there liberally. Are they still waiting for season ticket holders to decline?
Time will tell!
Edit: obvs they were waiting for me to post this.
Hello! I have a few basic (and probably kinda stupid) questions/topics Iām hoping to chat about.
I have watched the USWNT major tournaments for over a decade now (Olympics, WC) but up until this year I didnāt watch the friendlies or any other tournaments in the in between times. Could anyone tell me what other major tournaments I should be looking out for until the WC returns and what their significance may be? Iāve been watching this weeks friendlies and I went to the send off game at Audi Field and it was one of the highlights of my year so I donāt want to miss other opportunities to support out of newbie ignorance :)
In regard to Spirit, Iām having a hard time keeping track of the schedule. Maybe this is just an adjustment I need to make because Iām used to a more quickly paced schedule for other sports, but it feels like thereās a wildly long time between games. The quarter final is still 2 weeks away and I think Iāve been seeing ticket ads for it for about 2 weeks already? Any insight into the long stretches? Is that just a soccer thing?
TIAš¬š¬š¬
Hopefully, someone works up a playoff chat along the lines of "Don't let Rose's season end!" for some very "Marta in the Olympics" vibe...
Saw a tweet from NWSL Analytics and thought I would share the viz. Look below at the company she is keeping statistically for attacking power. What an amazing talent we got - out of nowhere!
As I have said numerous times: "Rose is inevitable!"
Attacking power: Taking on defenders in the box vs touches in the box
Any insights welcome
We decided to try to stop for the first time at Dacha on our way to a Spirit match and got basically turned away for a BS reason because one of us had a small mobility scooter. They kept saying they didnāt have any tables everything was reserved. Iām pretty sure the benches are open seating right? I think they just didnāt want to deal with a mobility aid, even one thatās small and foldable.
Then we went across the street to Jackieās and got told their kitchen was closing soon so they wouldnāt seat us (ok? Can we just get a drink?)
So we went on down toward Audi and stumbled on this place called Tinetteās, itās a little hard to see because their signage isnāt great but itās right on that corner where you turn to go to Solace. And it was fantastic! Intimate and not crowded, excellent French finger foods and a full bar - and super welcoming people who were excited to see us.
I think we will make that our new pre-match place. Please check it out!

Love the subtle nod to the Spirit fans ("I have played in front of large crowds before") and all of the texts she says she's been getting constantly from her teammates.

She got her first international goal this week, as Ireland beat up on Georgia. A bit of redemption after she gave away a penalty in the World Cup.

After Chicagoās inexplicable, odd name change, I canāt help but wonder about the previous rumors of name changes for the Spirit. Especially because weāre in the middle of our rebranding process.
I have so much faith in Kang, but Iām nervous that we might move away from the Spirit name to something we have a very hard time identifying with. I know the Spirit maybe donāt have the best name but Iāve grown attached to it, yāknow?
Iām cool with things like color changes, crest changes, etc. But name changes? Thatās a really hard thing to pull off because in my opinion, a name creates truer sense of recognition and identity between a team, a fan base, and the community theyāre in. Iām not entirely closed off to a name change, but I hope that itās incredibly well thought-out and thoroughly vetted if it happens.
What do you think?
Tweaking the previous phrasing of these polls given the season is almost over, who would you be MOST EXCITED to see score their first goal of 2024 for the Spirit between now and the end of playoffs?
Vote below, and consider upvoting this post and commenting with your reasoning (these latter steps increase the likelihood the Reddit algorithm will show this poll to other redditors).
P.S. Congrats to Heather for being the Spirit's goalscorer #15 of 2024, and the 1 person out of 55 poll participants on this subreddit who predicted that outcome. Poll options and ordering are based on recent minutes played.
At the beginning of the season, we won several matches seemingly from the skin of our teeth. It seemed that whenever our regular starting line-up players were subbed out, we lost our attack and looked a bit lost.
Then came Jona and the Olympic break. Since then, the 2nd tier team picked up a ton of playing time. The Nations League matches gave several players an opportunity to play, learn, improve. Then the āweāve had our full of injuriesā phase started, and these same players gained the opportunity to continue their growth, against superb competition (we learn more in a loss than a win).
I think Courtney Brown is a perfect example. At the start of the season, when compared to Bethune and Hershfeltāwho so naturally settled into their professional careersāBrown looked like a deer in the headlights. But Sunday, she was fantastic, disrupting Chicagoās attempts to build out of the back and creating opportunities out of seemingly nothing.
But the same can be said about everyone, including Hatch, who seemed, I think, shaken by Sanchezās trade.
We may be playing without some critical components of our full potential, but I think Kang, Krikorian, GonzƔlez, and GirƔldez certainly represent the Rising Tide that is raising All Ships.
The 2024 season is winding down. We'll have match data and the Spirit website to remind us of the official story, but let's try and compile all the unofficial highlights from this past year while it's still fresh.
If possible, share links to YT, Twitter, IG, etc., but also consider directly posting pics or whatever in your comments here on Reddit in case other parts of the internet disappear (coughXcough).
For example, some unofficial highlights from this past year for me include Jona saying "cake" in his first day video, Jona stroking the "cat" (aka, mic windscreen) during 1 post-game presser than commenting about the bigger size of the next "cat" during a subsequent presser, Trinity's dunk & sleeping cellies, Hal getting caught on a field mic saying "oh sh*t" when failing to stop a ball before it went out of bounds, the baby proofing for Caleb, the In-N-Out lore, etc. (I'll try & find documentation of all those moments and share them in the comments below, though if others have them handy feel free to beat me to the punch!)
I have mentioned before that we Spirit fans are lucky to have two of the best soccer minds in the world. Emma - who shares nothing out of her admitted compulsion to always win, and Jona - who can't shake the teacher in him. The irony is that Emma often gives away subtle things because of her exceptional communication skills, and Jona often can be harder to follow because he is translating soccer jargon to English.
So, I have found both of them interesting to study, for entirely different reasons, and I offer to my fellow soccer nerds my notes from Jona's latest press conference. Please feel free to correct or disagree with any or all of it. I share this here, amongst us Spirit fans, recognizing we all are willing to give him and the players the benefit of the doubt rather than sowing controversy.
He said they saw Chicago as a really good transition team, and he thought they did a good job mostly with that, except for a short spell at the beginning of the second half, and even then their chances were not that dangerous.
Was happy with Hal and Heather having different roles, Heather starting as a 10, and then the last 30 minutes dropping back with Hal into double pivot base.
He talked about how they defend at multiple heights, so when Hatch presses, and the opponent is in base (me: I think he means what we usually call a double pivot as base - I think a double pivot is a base alignment, but a base alignment doesn't have to work as a double pivot), they have their pocket (half-space between back line and midfield line) defenders and Hal supporting to turn them over high up the pitch. He said Courtney and Heather were recovering balls well, but he thought it was a pity the team wasn't creating big chances off of them. He said the teams needed a little more confidence in the finishing of those.
He said that he is generally happy with how they are performing out of possession. They need to improve in small details particularly "side backs" versus wingers. Pretty sure side backs refers to Tara and Esme and the wingers are Casey and Gabby. Likely is referencing how they transition back to defense. When you push your wing backs forward, teams will want to try to play into the space behind them in transition. So, whether the wingers chase back in the wide space, or switch with the center back is likely dependent on these details.
Andre asked about the new midfield and facing a couple of teams that don't like to press that high. JG said that Racing had an unpredictable press, constantly mixing it up, and Chicago was very different, and the Spirit had to determine other ways to progress using the fullbacks. Generally, teams (like Emma and USWNT) that don't press very high will tighten up a block in the midfield and force you to try to beat them wide. He said that Esme and Tara pretty well identified the pass needed to move forward. (Me: I saw Esme make like a forty yard outlet pass to, I believe, Casey which looked like it was rolled on a pool table and dropped right onto an easy first touch. Ridiculous quality.)
In the last 30 mins, he said Spirit had to modify their shape with Rose going off, and they were still having an easy time finding Casey, Gabby and Kate. He said that Chicago tried to tweak some things to create more press, but they did a good job overcoming those.
He said he liked Makenna's performance, highlighted how the side backs (definitely think he means center backs) were working with the wingers to create 2v1s and how he really liked getting Rose into some 1v1s. He said he like Makenna in the 10, because he likes his strikers attacking the box. (Note calling the 10 a striker, vice an attacking midfielder, no better evidence that the secondary striker terminology is making a comeback than having one of the best midfield development coaches in the world call the 10 a striker.) He said that he was happy with Makenna whether in the 7 (right wing forward) or the 10 working up top off the ball pressing. He said he really likes her deficit movement (me: this is a strength and conditioning term in the US, I think he is referring to giving ground defensively) because she is getting to the center backs and the side backs. In this case, I think he is referring to the backs that split out wide in the build up, vice those in the box. He also said he doesn't like to refer to her as a rookie, even though she is, because he thinks he can demand the kind of performance he got from her against Chicago (which is better than a rookie).
He said Tara has improved a lot from the clips he saw in pre-season. He said it is only her second season as a center back, so she is still committing mistakes but is improving a lot. Said she is taking responsibility in possession, even with players who are capable managing a good build out - Annaig(!) and Esme. He said he really likes her progress with that and that she is really strong out of possession. He thinks she is the kind of player who can be more of a leader on the pitch. He said she is on the way to becoming one of the best center backs in the league, but needs to keep working to improve. (me: This is tough to hear for those of us like me who were hoping Tara was close to getting called up during this international break. I think he sees her getting there, but not ready yet. But it does give some insight as to what Emma likely saw.)
We love you spirit, We do
Donāt want to be overly excited but the team looks good going into the playoffs and a good chance for a playoff run. Yes anything can happen but did like Rodman getting more minutes yesterday. Will Sarr and Santos be ready by Nov 10?
I hadn't seen it posted anywhere but confirmed by my STH rep. Getting excited!
Could anyone see exactly what happened last night for the two red cards call? Couldnt see it from my end of the field and canāt seem to find a replay!
Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a soccer app thatās specific to womenās soccer to keep up to date with the latest Spirit news, scores, lineups etc. Iāve used Fotmob and Sofascore in the past but Iād like to use something more WoSo specific.
PS. How yāall feeling about the teamās title chances? Definitely feels like this team is flying under the radar with everyone focused on Orlando, Gotham and KC
Hi Spirit fam, we missed out on getting a fan appreciation scarf tonight by a matter of seconds before they ran out (after a series of unfortunate Metro delays). I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have an extra theyāre not going to use? Iāll pay to ship it to me in Alexandria or pickup if youāre nearby!
