Are there any areas of Wakefield where you find larger Victorian terraced houses?
I’m thinking of those with a cellar, then hallway, lounge, kitchen and dining room (or combined kitchen/diner) on the ground floor, 3 decent sized bedrooms & bathroom with a landing on the first and usually a decent sized attic space?
I’ve lived in one in Huddersfield and when I was a kid my friend lived in one in Halifax. All the terraces I see in Wakefield seem to be smaller 2-up, 2-down type but I assume there must be some bigger ones?!
Can anyone recommend a re mapping service in or around Wakey please. Audi A1 diesel.
Anywhere in Wakefield that's good for a sit down lunch that's also cheap? In the centre near Westgate, ridings or trinity?
Hi! Can anyone please recommend a café? Looking for something preferably with parking or parking very nearby. Just for a sit down with a nice salad / sandwich / cake etc. Not in the city centre but other than that anywhere in / around wakefield.
Thanks in advance
Thank you for all your suggestions and replies
Hiya,
I'm not sure what to do/if anything can be done, but I live near city centre and the same man has been causing issues for the past couple months. He walks around from 6pm onwards screaming at the top of his lungs, shouting at anything that moves, banging on commercial bins, etc. This can go on for hours sometimes, and he seems to frequent my street and the area around it specifically.
He's definitely on drugs doing this, and I've had to call 999 for him before (out of concern) as he dropped unconscious outside my flat one night. All they did was show up 20 mins later and move him along, and that hasn't ever stopped him coming back since.
I'm not hating or judging his situation, the issue is that I'm a young girl and I sometimes have to walk home from work during these hours. It's getting to the point where I feel unsafe walking around the area of my flat. I haven't had any encounters with him yet, but I'm quite afraid and I feel like I'm in danger because of his presence. It's not a fun feeling.
I have no idea what to do about this. Can anything even be done? If I talk to the council or police about anti social behaviour, what are the chances they actually attempt to do anything to get him off the street? This is all unfamiliar, so any help or info would be appreciated. (Approaching him myself is out of the question, based on previous behaviours I've observed)
I've had a budgie for 5 years I got him from ossett reptillia and I'm looking to rehome him due to living with family and having less time to spend with him, if anyone knows anyone local or around who could take him please DM me I can tell you more about him as well.
So I've just moved to near Wakefield/Doncaster area, I'm from Middlesbrough , so a boro fan but fallen out love of football at that level, where we have moved we have a non league club 5 min walk away, our kids are both youngy and never been to football but watched on TV, woukd you say kids would enjoy non league with no atmosphere or would they prefer a biggee team?, I get every kids are diffrent just wanting people opinions. Thanks
Went there with internal bleeding. They made me wait 11 hours to see the doctor.
Is this normal for Pindersfield hospital ?
Hi all,
Despite living in Wakefield for a few years I'm still yet to find my perfect pub for watching football. I'm looking for recommendations for a pub which ideally has a good range of beers and is fairly central.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Can anyone recommend any safe places to go for a walk now it’s getting dark early?
Good evening,
I am looking for a studio to rent soon in Wakefield, Normanton or Castleford or anyway in the Wakefield area.
Does anyone have any contact or suggestions?
If you are a landlord please contact me.
Thank you for your attention.
About ten minutes ago, I was walking through t'Moor, and get to about two thirds of the way down Watson and heard some cat playing some unbelievably beautiful guitar.
The first was a melodic rendition of Black Hole Sun.
Who is this person? If it is you, get in touch. I fancy starting a band.

This Saturday 9th Nov. Is anybody going to this? Due to friends dropping out it looks like I'll be going alone now!
Am i any good?
What to do when kids cause trouble in the area that you live in.
Our go to chippy was Mr Pats in town near where Riley's used to be but it's now closed...looking for a replacement.
The place opposite Tesco on Eastmoor always smells nice but i've ever been in.
Fish & Chip recommendations?
Hi everyone,
Has anyone had a free bulky waste collection from the council?
I see that they charge but occasionally they offer free collections, so it would be good to know when this happens each year!
Thanks
The old units are clearly going to be another takeaway, but Bear Kitchen signage has gone up nextdoor
Which chippies in Wakefield offer "fruity" curry sauce? Our usuals (Kingfisher/Outwood Whaler) do the chip shop style (which is great, but craving the fruity one!)
Does anyone know the phone number for the management company who owns the Pinnacle block of flats on Ings Road (opposite the retail park)
Been trying to get a confirmed service charge from them for weeks now through the estate agents and now i just want to try and call them myself
Can anyone recommend an affordable hairdresser near the city centre please? I just need my fringe fixing without spending a ton xx

Hopefully this year it will go ahead!
Is there any decent therapists in the wakefield area looked online and seems like there are a few but unsure on reviews etc of them don't want to be forking out £50-70 and turns out they are not that good anyway
I'm aware it's different for everyone but any general idea or thoughts would be appreciated
Thanks
Just seen that the Sea Urchin chippy in Ossett is saying it is under new management. Has anyone tried it recently?
I live in an area where consistent 30/40 mph driving is impossible due to traffic and different road speeds and need to get the issue sorted. I read somewhere that I need to drive consistently for 20 minutes at 30/40mph to clear the dashboard message. I typically do very short trips daily for errands and shopping.
Update: Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions to go on the motorway. I ran some errands some hours ago, and while on my way home, I saw that the message had changed to the "exhaust filter cleaning" message so I just floored it to the nearest 40mph road and drove up and down it a couple of times and it cleared up. I didn't want to lose the momentum by going back home and starting another trip to get on the motorway. It was cleared in about 15 minutes.
I am in my mid 30s and seeking out some places to let my hair down. I have not been ‘out out’ since about 2011 😂 I am looking for somewhere to enjoy a drink and awesome music. I am into rock and indie. Definitely nothing modern.. are there any places I can just chill?
I found a 3-bedroom house at a cheap price in Castleford, and my wife and I currently live in a two-bedroom apartment in Bolton. We are looking to move closer to the city of York since my wife started studying at the University of York this year. The most important question now is, is Castleford safe or not? The house seems to be in a quiet neighborhood, but I’ve heard a lot of negative things about the area and the town in general. Help me make the right decision.
