For anyone who has transferred in recently, how long did it take for your application to be received when sent through Parchment? It has been quite some time since I sent mine, and I know it was received by the school, but I still have no indication that it was received through the website.
I submitted my application to WVU on Tuesday. I paid for the application fee, closed my laptop, and basically forgot about the whole thing until I got an email on Halloween from the university saying that I needed to submit a direct application through their website instead of through CommonApp. Now, I'm confused as to why their university is even on the website as an option when they won't accept my CommonApp application? I already created a student account with them, but then I noticed that it already said I submitted my application. I don't want to redo it if I don't need to, but I'm so confused. I'm majoring in Human Resource Management, so maybe it has something to do with that, possibly? Can someone on this sub explain to me why this is, and has it happened to someone else?
hi! so i got into spring 2025 but due to my country's embassy being understaffed, i was unable to secure a visa appointment before class starts for spring 2025. i have no choice but to defer to summer 2025 as my visa appointment fell in february 2025. can anyone give me an idea of summer 2025? ive heard there are certain drawbacks. im an international student and im really excited to join wvu ;-;
my friend and I applied earlier this week to apply for WVU to transfer for fall 2025 and we’re wondering how long a decision typically takes?
I already sent over my transcripts but the admissions office said they won’t even look at them for 10 days, like what?
It’s our own bad for waiting this long but we’d like to continue living together in a 2bd apartment but we’re afraid leases will run out in university apartments before we get an acceptance :/
My advisor is on vacation and he’ll be too busy to talk to me as soon as he comes back, so I want to have a general idea of what major to discuss so the meeting can be as short as possible.
I’m currently an undergrad freshman majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources, and I want to take on entomology as a graduate student. What major/minor would prepare me for entomology?
I don’t really want to switch my major because I really like it and I can get a decent job out of it, so I’d rather minor in something if I can.
from a few weeks ago, watching banana moon
It doesn't say that there is a concurrent requisite so I am not sure if you are required to take the associated lab or not.
So I’m in media 101 right now and on the quizzes I use my book and notes to pass the quizzes (she said we could don’t come for me) but we have a final and I’m scared I’m going to fail bc I don’t actually like study for that class. So has anyone here taken that class before, should I be scared, and what can I do to not fail the final!!!!!
Hi everyone! I am a reporter for The Daily Athenaeum. This week, I am working on a piece about the campus food garden and how it has been affected by the academic transformation. If you’re willing to make a statement, please send me a private message!
hi all, hoping someone may be able to help me. literacy went out the window for me and I wildly miscalculated how much my tuition would actually be… 😬
I qualify for the level 2 climb higher scholarship + around 8,800 in fafsa grants + 9,500 in fafsa loans but after all of that I’m still about 7.2k short. Are there any additional scholarships offered by WVU that would meet that cost or do I just need to look for external scholarships?
I’ll be in the college of creative arts and media if that matters, thanks!
So my roommates are loud and inconsiderate so I'm lowkey trying to find out if there are places i can sleep overnight instead of my dorm when I have to wake up early the next morning?
I’m currently researching why engineering disasters occur and how they can be prevented! I have a survey and would like to get other people’s opinions. It’s only one question and it’s anonymous!

Hello, as the title suggests, I am looking for a relatively cheap furnished apartment that is easy to get to and from campus. All of my classes are downtown if that helps.
Would anyone be able to give me some advice? Thank you.
Anybody seen this? Anybody but me have a problem with it???
Hey guys, I’m working on a story about voting across students and graduates. If anyone would like to do a short interview regarding your vote in the presidential election and why, please send me a message!
I'm applying to WVU and plan on attending the school next year. I've seen a lot of humorous posts about how non-competitive WVU is and have read posts and comments about people who shouldn't have gotten their high school diplomas who still got accepted into the university. I'm not a lackluster student, but I'm a bit worried about not getting accepted. I have a 3.0 unweighted GPA, but I'm terrible at test-taking and I've gotten a 1090 and a 1020 on both my SAT's. WVU has a low SAT average, but I'm still scared about my chances. I also wrote a college essay and attached a letter of recommendation on my common app. I want to major in Human Resources, if that matters as well.
I think I’m gonna major in International Affairs and Economics, which are respectively in the Eberly College and John Chambers College.
For context, I’m out of state.
Eberly: $15,060 a semester Chambers: $15,216 a semester
On the website it also says there’s usually $22,212 fee for all the other stuff.
Would I be paying both tuitions for the colleges or do they somehow get condensed? Does anyone know? There’s like no info on the website
Does anyone have any advice for adapting to how school is now: going back post-covid? I went to school back in 2019 and dropped out. This was my first semester back and it has been a HUGE slap in the face. I take in person classes, but I have realized that even though they're in person, it is extremely online based. I never had to experience this in HS or my first semesters of college pre-covid. Everything was paper; handwritten note taking, the professors using chalkboard, handwritten exams/quizzes in the lecture halls, etc.
If anyone also experiencing this has any advice on what has worked for them or even the younger students who adapted to online schooling during their covid HS years, that would be so great.
I'm having a hard time getting organized and feeling connected because of this huge "culture shock", if you will. I'd like to set myself up with better habits and organization now, so I can better succeed next semester.
Hi
I'm an international student coming to Morgantown at the end of this year. However, I've noticed that there is no direct flight from DC to Morgantown on the day I come! I will arrive at 7:30 PM which is late and I have no idea what to do. Is there any bus or other alternative for this path? What should I do?
Many thanks.
anyone else have trouble trying to get into this program? finding a mentor who will actually mentor you working in the lab.?
Looking for someone to take over my lease at my 2 bed 2 bath apartment Jan 2025-May 2025. Male roommate only, pm if interested!
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has an insight on the process of contracting an honors course is? Is it fairly easy or should I avoid the hassle? Thank you!
Title. I’m an upcoming freshman for next year and wanted to know so I could try and prepare myself. Also, is the unlimited meal plan worth it?
So I am literally horrible at math (failed algebra 3 times in hs) and I have stats 111 and Econ 200 next semester. Am I fucked?
Next semester I will be a senior student, and I still need to take unrestrictive elective. What courses would you recommend to take, that are easy A? so I can focus on my major classes
Question, is it still a thing? Is it a masters? And is anyone here currently in it, or was previously? I’m looking at majoring in puppetry, and I’m not getting many answers online or from talking to people. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for a local writers' group or anyone interested in creating one. I have one published book myself currently, but I'm working on my 2nd, and I would like support from other writers, even if that is just keeping me accountable to my goals.
