I accepted to WSU for fall 2025 for bs in cs.. I’m kind of considering WSU.. How is the college? the school spirit? and what about the proximity to restaurants, target or walmart or any such retail stores.. As an international student this is gonna be a new experience and i’m kinda scared ngl
It’s as the title states, I have trouble. Usually I can make acquaintances/ sorta-friends really easy cause im a good listener, as well as just inherently social with everyone I come into contact with. My problem, is both turning those acquaintances into friends, and keeping the friends I make. Usually, when I make a friend my natural instinct is to basically understand that person as well as I can, while providing information about myself. But I’ve been told that I’m too fast about it and too open up too much and too quickly. I’ve also been told that I get too much into deep topics and conversations. Now don’t misunderstand I don’t tell them my greatest secrets or ask theirs I just try to understand them through their life story, and have them understand me through mine. But at some point all my friends stop talking to me or just straight up say we shouldn’t be friends anymore because they felt uncomfortable talking about those things, and even my friends that were girls thought I was secretly trying to hit on them because of how nice I was and the jokes I made(which I wasn’t). I have no long term bffs, no girlfriend, closest family is 6 hours away, and this happened to me again at the end of last semester. I’m litterally so lonely and depressed. I was always told be myself and people would like me, is that wrong?
Been a while since my last protest was wondering if there’s any anti-ICE / trump protests in the area.

how often do y’all, as students, take trips down to Seattle? 3 day long weekends, breaks? Also what’s the cheapest/most common way of going there?
H!! We’re two female students looking for a one-way ride to Seattle or back to Pullman on February 7th for an event we have to attend at 10 am. I also need to come back to Pullman by night on the same day. If anyone is planning to travel to Seattle or coming back to Pullman on that day, I’d be happy to carpool and split gas.
Let me know if anyone is available, and thanks in advance!!
Hello, I got an offer for an internship. Not many details has been finalized, but I understand that it is worth 1-4 upper division credits. Do I have to pay the school if I am taking my internship (self-source) over the summer?
Hello, I am planning to eventually join WSU and I want to become a doctor. Anyways I saw their honors program and I also saw there is some sort of pathway to their medical school which I want to eventually go to so I have some questions I would highly appreciate.
So from my understanding they are separate from other classes at WSU. Is there a harder difficulty to get a good grade?
What benefits (other than the pathway to their medical program) does the honors program give you?
How many people are in their honors program?
What is the acceptance rate of their honors program?
Is the pathway to their medical school good? Like what percentage of people in the honors program applying the the HCP program get in.
Any questions answered or any nice information given I would highly appreciate and thank you for taking the time to read this.
We’re looking for diverse perspectives from across North America!
Got annoyed with my neighbors being loud (like screaming down the street) at around 11 last night. It felt like 2am because I've been under the weather but still, yikes. I'm only 26 yall, I'm too young to be this crochety. What are some entry level things I can do around Pullman to try chilling out a little? I'm not exactly a social butterfly and I have some pretty narsty sensory issues (auditory processing/misophonia) but I don't want to be this boring yet. I've never been cool but I used to be way cooler than this, I swear.
I’m sure this is a long shot but who knows. So I’m completing my AA through running start and i’m going to be attending WSU for CE. I went for the traditional AA and I know some classes transfer and some don’t but how long should it take me to complete my degree?
Would it be the same amount of time with just some less gen ed classes? I know even with engineering sometimes it doesn’t take 4 years but what i should at least finish slightly quicker, no?
Thanks in advance!
Hey, WSU community,
This post is just a PSA that WSU students, staff, and affiliated community members have access to free survey consulting. The link for office hours and contact can be found here: https://sesrc.wsu.edu/surveydesignclinic/
We can help you with everything from refining your questionnaire to developing survey questions based on your research questions or hypotheses, thinking about a sampling strategy, working on the design of your survey, and much more.
The goal of our clinic is to help the WSU community collect better data by achieving a higher response rate and a lower survey drop-out rate, as well as ensuring that the questions you are asking match the intended goal of each question.
I posted something similar last December, but it was just at the end of the semester, and the clinic was closing for the winter break. So, I'm posting this reminder again now, as surveys and projects might just be getting started. We did not get a lot of drop-ins for office hours last semester, and the clinic is at risk of losing funding if the clinic continues at this rate.
I don't know how many of you are aware of this service. We are a team of five consultants with weekly office hours. I am one of the consultants, and last semester saw a sharp decline in the use of this service. The office hours are drop-in, but they can also be arranged by appointment.
I know that many people use surveys in our community; a new survey pops into my mailbox almost every week. The survey clinic can help you figure out how to set up your survey, find your sample, get good data, and even analyze the data.
We can and have provided consulting to everything from surveys that undergrads are fielding in their semester with no budget to post-doc researchers conducting surveys costing tens of thousands of dollars to community NGOs on a shoestring budget. Stop by or message us; even if you are unsure, we can help. We would be more than happy to direct you to some appropriate resources if we can't.
Also, for those of you who are not aware, the Social & Economic Sciences Research Center (SESRC) is one of the most highly respected research centers in the World. A lot of the science behind survey design was developed right here at WSU, with people like Don Dillman pioneering the art and the science of this new field. Our team of consultants provides feedback based on decades of scientific research into survey design.
If you have any questions, ask me, or visit this link for more information: https://sesrc.wsu.edu/surveydesignclinic/
I’m graduating with a communications degree and am planning on staying in pullman. Are there any companies that are good to work for/hire WSU grads?
Hi all, I need some advice if anyone knows of a good way to get a hold of someone at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital on campus?
Long story short, my parents cat is very sick (suspected FIP) and they are trying urgently to get an appointment for treatment options. They received a referral from their current vet, but both the vet office and my parents have had no luck after leaving multiple voicemails and sending emails. Is there anyone who might know a better way to get a hold of someone? Any help would be so appreciated 🙏🏽
(His name is Gris, pronounced Grease)

Hey everyone! I hope this is an OK place for this question. Applied to a graduate program at WSU earlier this month. How long did it take for other graduate students to hear back? Around a week ago I was notified to set up an Okta account and that my application has been sent to faculty, but that's the extent of the contact I've received.
I'm in the honors college and need to take four semesters of Spanish, I was planning on taking my first semester this summer online, but the teacher teaching it has a really bad score on rate my professor. I took spanish classes in middle and high school but I'm not fluent in it or anything, but I might have enough knowledge to get me at least past Spanish 101 on the language placement exam. Has anyone taken the exam before? How hard or easy was it? I just need a score of 2 to get past spanish 101.
What's the cheap food joint around here? Any 5 for $5 deals or maybe something like 1$ burgers?
I don't care what it is, I eat most anything. Pizza, bread, meat, whatever. Give me your best deals!
The event will be held at Taps Oak Tree Station on Wednesday, January 29 from 7:00-8:30pm.
No RSVP is required and please feel free to pass this along to other Cougs in the area who we may not have contact information for.
Great opportunity for SW WA/Portland Area alum and current WSUV students to connect with the athletics department!
Hey:) I am going to have my first gyno appointment this next week and want to hear stories about the facility and providers? I cannot find much online! Has anyone seen the providers "Sharon" or "Satin W" ?
Former Network church leader/member, Skyler, takes his time to process why he feels
people join Network churches (including HILLS Church and BLUE SKY) and what compels
them to stay, even long past friends leaving and hearing the horrific stories.
He offers practical advice on what we can do if a loved one is trapped inside.
PLEASE watch the above video (Skyler T. Video) and if you are trapped inside, or if you have
been there and can relate to this video, please reach out. There is support available for you.
These are the results from the recent poll on the subject.
Hey everyone! I'm a freshman here at WSU and I'm looking for anybody who is interested in getting together and jamming on or near campus. I play guitar and bass myself and I play anything from rock and metal to country and folk. I'm open to playing any styles, I just love getting to paly music with people who are equally passionate about it!
Road game in the South Bay. Cougs are a road dog against a Santa Clara team that just upset Gonzaga in Spokane.
Game can be watched on CBS Sports Network.
Has anyone done Nursing and been in a Sorority? How was it? Is it hard to stay involved in the Sorority while at Spokane?
Also if anyone has insight about the Honors College Direct admit program for Nursing that would be great!!
Many communities are asking the same question, and some users have brought this up to us. We wanted to ask you all for your opinions before making a decision.
Finally added this to my bag for the 12 million bathrooms on campus without bag hooks. No more backpack on the gross floor! It works for the doors and hand rails!!!
Long story short I had a lot of health issues last semester and I submitted a petition to get a tuition refund and withdrawal. Just curious, does anyone have experience in how long that will take to get back? It says 6-8 weeks, but I just want to know if that is accurate.
