Title says it all; scenario is I'm going to the Newark show, never been to a pop/idol concert before last week when I saw IVE, and I had a blast so I expected the procedure to be the same for here (If I have to be honest, I've been a Miku fan for much longer, so I was looking forward to this one more). I missed the presale, but because I had VIP I was hoping the early entry/access to merch would let me snag one. Naive, I know, but from what I saw in the aforementioned IVE concert (they had light sticks in stock until literally 20 minutes before) I thought if I were to fail it would be because I got there too late and they sold out because I got there 15 minutes late of the early entry time; I did not expect merch lines to open up at 2pm nor did I expect the booth to be outside nor did I expect them to have only 95 in stock for a venue of nearly 17k... anyway, if there are ANY suggestions to getting an official lightstick that do not conflict with the following circumstances I will be eternally grateful.

1. I can not, unfortunately (though I would) wait for 20 hours in the venue. I have an AP exam that date from 12-2pm and I certainly can not miss that (Seminar, which is like the lamest one)
2. No third party lights off of Amazon, nor ones from older shows off eBay or something (though I understand if this is my only option). For me, as this will be my first (and likely only) Miku concert, a penlight would be a sort of memento for my experience; it's the essence of an idol concert and I guess for me the symbolic value of it matters more to me than anything, so a knock-off generic one wouldn't really evoke that same feeling.
3. I think I'll max the money I'm willing to spend at $100-150; if I could literally just buy one off someone for that much I would, but I'd probably look like an asshole if I began just asking people at the venue if I could buy their penlight so uhhh I think I'd need thoughts on that too.

I understand this post is very picky about having to get the penlight associated with the show; I acknowledge that there's other merch available (though I'll likely not get it) as well as the VIP gift bag which contains some trinkets which will also be great souvenirs/mementos, and by no means will not having a penlight hinder my enjoyment of the show, nor will the LED screen (bummer though) take away from the excitement of meeting the community and enjoying the music together. However, with just a month left until the my show I feel it is too early to give up; though my chances dropped from I'd say a good 75-80% to like 1-2% I'm looking for any sort of redemption. Thank you for reading this lengthy and frankly rambling post and, even if you don't have any ideas, I really appreciate your time.

My event isn't until a few more weeks but I'm curious, for those who have attended the show already when is a good time to line up if you have seated tickets and don't need merch?

I want to make sure I don't miss the very start because of a long line of bag checks so curious what times everyone has had success with so far!

This has been eating at me for a long time now, I've been looking for a song that I've seen when I was in highschool (like 10 to 15 years ago). My memory could be very off, but the only thing that I can recall is someone falling in place over a hole(?) with a bunch of caution imagery around it, and maybe a floating spinning chicken? I have no idea what it was called, because I only found it by diving through classic youtube's related videos with everything being in japanese. Honestly, I could be terribly misremembering, but I thought I'd ask around just in case I'm not crazy and misremembering something.

Any tips for Miku Expo 2024? I’m going with my friend and we are both die hard fans who don’t want to pay for the glow stick. I have a rip off one from Amazon but they don’t have one. Any ideas?

hello!!! ik there isnt any filming allowed at miku expo, but i also heard they will be selling recordings of the show (not entirely sure)? if theyre actually doing recordings for each show, is there a price thats out or will they be releasing them at a later date? ill probably not get a very good seat as im driving to the venue after school, but i still want some nice pics of miku or at least some momento!

So tomorrow is gonna be my first concert and I was wondering what line etiquette is usually like. We’re planning on getting there in the morning so I was lent some camping chairs for the line and was planning to put our larger items ie food chairs water in the car while my friend holds our spot in line. Is this usually fine? I’m thinking people will likely be leaving the line every so often for food or to use the restroom so would there be any problem with doing a quick car drop off?

Also if anyone knows how strict the civic center is about their 10”x10” bag policy that would be great. Thank you!

Hey! I'm so sorry if this is a dumb question, but it really confused me. It seems that they're only selling one glowstick per person, but I always thought that glowsticks were a pair thing? All of the glowstick moves and chants I see are done with two glowsticks, one in each hand. Sure, you can do it with one, but that doesn't really seem right to me?

It feels like buying shoes but you only get one lol, what do you do with one shoe? I know nearly nothing about Japanese concert culture, but glowsticks always seem like "they come in a pair" kinda package deal to me. I understand they want to sell glowsticks to as many people as possible (with their limited resources...), but this just doesn't seem right to me.

Anyone else? What does one do with one glowstick??
