Testing interest in seeing if we can set up an AMA with Remy (@GoRemy).

I have not reached out but I was thinking I would since he is a Libertarian and lives in VA but wanted to see if there was enough interest to make it worth his time. What do you all think? Anyone else that I should see about reaching out too? Are AMAs a thing we want to do here?

It's Election Time for Freedom.

Defenders of Liberty,

The Libertarian party would like your help in expanding liberty in the simulation of American government over at /r/ModelUsGov.

ModelUsGov is a simulation of the federal government and six state governments, cut up into six states as such.

This election, we are running candidates in the yellow (Central), and blue (Southern) states. Should you choose to register elsewhere the LP endorses the Republicans, and the Distributists in the states that we do not run in.

Voting takes less than a minute and our party has nominated candidates who will be running in their respected states for House and Senate positions. You can vote by going to this link here. You are eligible to vote if:

  1. Your account is at least three months old, or
  2. Your account is at least 14 days old and you have joined a party or declared yourself independent on /r/modelusgov

Voting will help promote the principles you strongly believe in and a sense of community as part of a party. You don’t have to vote in your IRL state either! Once you have joined a party you will be able to register in the state of your choice and vote for the candidate of your choosing.

Head over to the join a party thread then put down Libertarians if you enjoy social/economic freedom and keeping the government out of your business!

Are we on the ballot for Governor yet?

Are we on the ballot for governor yet? How many signatures do we have so far? And is Hyra going to actively campaign like Sarvis did? I haven't seen him do much of anything yet, but of course we still have over five months.

House of Delegates race 2017

Later this year there will be elections for all 100 seats in the house of delegates in Virginia. According to Ballotpedia the deadline to run as a member of a party has passed, however the deadline to run as an independent is June 13th. If you can please consider running for office, we need people to run up and down the ballot. We may get lucky and win some seats if all goes well.
edit It may be still possible to register as a Libertarian for these races, not entirely sure

Gauging Interest: Stafford County

Citizens,

I'm a new resident of Stafford County and there's absolutely no Libertarian infrastructure here. At least, there's none I can find and none listed on https://lpvirginia.org/. Yet, I see libertarian bumper stickers frequently.

So, anyone on here a resident of Stafford that can either plug me into the community? Alternately, is there enough interest for someone to find a venue and set up a meeting schedule? I have one in mind if that's the case.
