Hello, Looking for some stories about natives and giants. I know many tribes have giants in there recounts but I haven't heard any from the Monacan or other central VA. tribes.

I am looking for diverse individuals to complete an online IRB approved survey that will take approximately 15 to 20-minutes. To be included in the study, you must be at least 18 years of age, possess English proficiency, and be living in the United States. The survey has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB; STUDY00144682) at the University of Kansas.

The current study is a part of my dissertation research, which examines the relationship between multiple diverse identities and help-seeking intentions for mental health concerns. The study possesses minimal risk and has the opportunity to directly benefit you by obtaining mental health and mental health service resources provided at the end of the online survey. Further, we believe that the information obtained from this study will help us gain a better understanding of how diverse groups perceive and intend to seek mental health services.

Hello everyone! My apologies in advance if I'm not following the correct posting rules, just let me know and I'll change it. To start out, I am not a member of any tribe, nor do I have any native heritage that I know of. My family has had a farm in the Northern Neck for about 200 years near Warsaw, and I was interested in learning a little about the tribes and peoples that may have been in that same area. Until I found this subreddit, I was actually unaware that there are any active tribes in the area. My schooling completely skipped over the Northern Neck, so I'm happy to learn anything I can. If anyone is interested in sharing what they know, or if you have any questions for me, I look forward to hearing from you!

Halito, My name is Amanda McLarty, and I am a 4th year doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. I am currently recruiting participants for a research study evaluating the effects of cultural coping on the relationship between perceptions of historical trauma and positive mental health for those identifying as American Indian/Indigenous or as having American Indian/Indigenous heritage.
