Does anybody know where I can find a new tonearm for my plx1000 in the uk? Seem to be all out of stock or discontinued.
I started a YouTube channel to showcase some of my Vinyl collection, slowly working my way through my records mix by mix.
If you like Classic Trance being mixed on Vinyl check out my channel.
All Mixes are 100% Vinyl, 100% Classics.

In my second set in my program “The Gold of Instrumental” in underground web radio in Brazil called Function, I did a deep dive into instrumental tracks with vocals but without words.
The name of this set in Portuguese is "Cantarolar” in English I think "Hum" is a good name. I’m accepting suggestions and ideas about my mixing. In the video, the projections were frozen for 20 minutes because the guys forgot to start It, sorry about that
Thanks.

Would greatly appreciate a listen and am open to constructive criticism! I still consider myself a beginner and don’t have any real life vinyl DJ friends so I be out here winging it myself. P.S. in search of digital audio interface recommendations! I have a cheap one and am not happy with the sound quality.
Happy vinyl mixing to all, and to all a good night! :)

As a active vinyl-dj?
Ortofon here
Hello! I just started learning vinyl about a month or so and making some progress with my timing and my ear but was wondering if you guys have any drills to train my ear to figure out which record is faster or slower or ahead or behind. Thank you!
Here's a render for your enjoyment.
I'm moving the floating mixer to the right and adding a CDJ arm above the left Technic.
Anything that screams "Wrong"?
I'm not sure I've worked on a mixer like that. It's possible I have and don't remember because it's not a big deal.
I've worked on some rickety rigs. My current setup is fine, and recording is fine, but it's my birthday and after waiting for years, time to level up a bit.
Battle style doesn't bother me and frankly getting the tone arm out of the way will probably make room for improvement on my mixing and skills anyhoo.
Have you ever seen a flush wall mounted CDJ? I know we've little arms, etc.
I think there's a LOT of opinions on an Audiophile turntable... this is the McIntosh MTI1000. It has vacuum tubes, amp, pre-amp, bluetooth, optical in (I realize I'll optical my CDJ to the mixer, likely, not the MTI1000). If money isn't really an issue after saving up for over a decade to build out my setup a little better, I just wanted something that will play some special jazz better than my 25+ year old Technics. But I still mix and record at home, too. This McIntosh solution really simplifies stuff, in one sense.
But burn me to the ground, laugh, advise, comment... or ignore! =)
FWIW - I add a laptop on a mantle to the right of this casework for recording. I don't think there's any other option unless I delete the CDJ (or swap it out when not in use).
Hey! Been practicing for about a year now on a controller and I recently went to a buddy’s house who owns a couple of PLX1000’s and I was completely hooked to the point I can’t stop thinking about a vinyl setup now. I already have a decent collection of records and everything. I’ve seen most folks sport either the reloop7000mkii’s, plx1000 and Technics 1200’s im kinda clueless about what mixers & needles would be good too Any suggestions on what to get? i want to keep it under $1000 if possible I’d also hate to have to repair old technics even tho they’re beautiful pieces of gear!
Hey everyone, bear with me, I think a generous assumption is that I’m a beginner at best.
So I took a break for a while, was doing an easy circuit using the same 3 house set ups, of 2 LP120s and a NuMark M4 3 Channel patched into house systems. We had a Marantz Setup at the bar I ran the music program out of and that was where I did most of my practicing, when we were closed.
Flash forward to now, after about 2 years, I’ve started getting back into, getting my own tables, and my setup consists of an old Stanton, a Gemini PT-1000, a Yamaha Mg10XU and a few powered speakers. I’m running AV into Channels 5-8 from the tables to the mixer direct. I cobbled this together so I could practice, but frankly, I hate it. My idea is at this point, I want to ditch the Yamaha, go back to the NuMark, and try to trade out the Stanton for a LP120 if I can, then run the Gemini and the 120.
I know it’s a whole thing of comfort, right, and I should go with what I’m comfortable with, but asking honestly, can this set up be salvaged in any way or should I scrap it and restart? I like the idea of eventually jumping from the Yamaha to spinning live on Instagram/Twitch, but I’m just not stoked on being unable to switch between channels without cueing up in my headphones. Is this an option and I’m just dumb?
Please help!
Hey everyone,
So throughout my teens and 20s, I was an average bedroom DJ on my Technics, and later Vestax, decks. Playing mostly drum and bass for my mates and at house parties.
Haven't touched a deck in anger in about a decade and over the years my vinyl collection has been stolen at aforementioned house parties or lost with multiple house moves and the decks went to the tip long ago.
So, here's where I need your help. One of our best friends, and mainstay of our basement raves, recently passed away and the three of us remaining are going to throw him a party he would have been proud of.
My plan is an hour set of DnB BUT I am constrained by having no kit to practice on and I need to buy my set off discogs, so I need to be sure that each track will transition nicely with no room for error.
Can anyone recommend a set builder app or website that would help me build a set in the digital world before buying everything on vinyl?
I've had a quick Google obviously but everything seems geared to modern tech wizardry DJs rather than old dinosaurs like me.
Any help spinning me back up to 45rpm is appreciated!
I need to buy a pair of new capsules for my turntables. I will play both DVS and normal vinyls (more DVS).
Which would be my best option? I am not sure if something like Ortofon Digital or VNL would be a better option, or if buying something cheaper like the Ortofon MIX or DJ would be fine.
So guys I have this pair of TECHNICS SL-1200LTD-K I would like to sell but I don´t know how much I could get for it and where could I sell it with safety. Please help!
Long story short recently I got some new stands to hang my media players over my turntables. The clearance wasn’t big enough to keep the dust covers on my Audio-Technica LP120x’s so I was raw dawggin em. I wake up this morning to my gf literally caught up in my needle (ortofon mix) and during this she yanked the tonearm. I go to inspect it and notice I can now barely fit the tonearm clamp on the tonearm, and when I do I need to push back the tonearm with more force than normal. When I un-clip the tonearm fly’s off. When it flys off the needle hits the platter, really not ideal. Records still play fine but this tonearm issue is gonna drive me mad I can tell. I had to leave for work so couldn’t take pics or vids. But I did check to see if the tonearm was properly balanced in weight and it was pretty close to the target 3 grams I set it too. Anyways, how screwed am I?
Hello, Im a digital dj and recently bought two reloop rp7000mk2 turntables for a hybrid setup. Now is the part where i have to start creating a collection of records to have available to play. I browsed discogs for buying vinyl. I found many records i liked and bought some of them. However i need the help of someone experienced on this topic to find more music. I like House music and especially classic and tech house music. Some favorite tracks i have in mind rn, are Armand van Helden - My My My, ATB - 9 PM 'Till I Come, Ultra Naté - Free, Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer. What records should i look for this kind of music? Can i maybe buy one record that contains some hits from more than one artist? Are there any better record eshops that are specialized on house music?
I saw a DJ recently stop the PLATTER by hand (not the record/slipmat) when cueing up, then release the platter to play the record. It made me cringe a little inside... I've seen platters slow down, even come to a full stop unintentionally if there's a lot of drag during a backspin or whatever, or just by accident, no biggie I guess. But to do this intentionally, every time, while cueing up? It FEELS to me like this must be bad for the deck in the long run... but I wonder if it really is bad?
Does anybody have valid reason or source for saying it's bad or not bad to the deck? I already know my gut opinion, and I'm sure opinions vary so... I'm really just curious if anyone has a sound reasoning and/or proof, either way. What say ye?
Hello everyone,
I recently bought a pair of Ortofon Concorde Club MK II to start mixing in vinyl.
I have a pair of Technics SL 1200 MK II.
After playing a few days I observed that channel right has more input signal than the left on some vinyls. So I took one which is well balanced on both sides and switched the cartridges to see if it’s a problem with them.
After some tests I see on mixer that one cartridge has more input signal on the right (0.7 - 1.5 dB) than the other cartridge. The test was made on both turntables and switch the cartridges between them. Tone arm and anti skating perfectly balanced.
Is this normal or is better to return one cartridge?
As the title states, been listening to LTJ Bukem mixes from the mid 90s on youtube the past few months and want to start mixing it on vinyl for fun at home. That era is just incredible. The records I have tried to find on discogs are all expensive for me ($30-50 + international shipping) so was hoping to discover some compilations or even artists/labels that might not be so well sought after just to get going. I don't need absolute classics just stuff in that era that I can enjoy learning to mix with. I tried to post on r/djs but my post was banned saying I wasn't doing my homework. I have been digging in shops around the globe and online for 10 years, just never with dnb and again I just keep striking out with all the tracks I pull from these mixes. Also some bozo on that post commented "welcome to the world of vinyl." I spin vinyl professionally for my full-time job, yes I know a lot of vinyl is expensive but it definitely all isn't and I have to believe there are some cheaper records out there. Any input or advice would be much appreciated!
Hey guys. I've noticed that my records seem to get cue burn quite fast when playing gigs. (After 4 - 5 times even.) I Always play with my sl1200 mk2's that are perfectly set up with grey Concorde styluses with good needles. I was wondering if any if you have the same experience or if it's just me. I also don't believe I que to aggressively since i'm not beatmatching techno or anything like that. Really hurts my ADHD brain.. Thanks in advance!
Just recently got back Into vinyl & mixing on turntables!
Back story: started DJing on vinyl & learnt how to beatmatch on vinyl 18 years ago, moved into the digital space for about 14 years of that & have been DJing on a ddj Rx for the majority of that time !
Now question? Since coming back & buying some vinyl, I'm finding records that have to be played at 33 rpm slightly more difficult to keep matched than the 45s! To add more context I've just purchased the reloop 7000 mk2 & I feel like even the slightest touch can take a record out! ( I am all for learning how to touch these by practising regularly, I am just curious though, if this is deffo the case)
oh I also have my torque speed right the way up aswell, if that helps
So do the rest of you vinyl djs find 33s more sensitive than 45s?
I was thinking of the sound burger, you can read further along for that.
I have an SC 500 but unfortunately the lack of basic features kills me.
No internal battery, no usb C charging / power, no internal memory / connect to computer and read memory that way. Ideally it could be done with just one USBC cable to a computer but nah.
I make music with a DAW and want to utilize scratching as a neat effect for hip hop but I don’t have space to put a turntable on my desk or walk to another table where the turn table is to record that. I want to do it in front of my desk and have a seamless work flow.
So for me ideally I could just drag and drop a sample into a program or plugin window that this external digital device could control.
But I am also fine with sampling the old fashion way with real vinyl but don’t want to pull out a turntable on my desk and set it up every time. I was thinking for this maybe the best thing would be the sound burger, just not sure if pressing on the record on one side could possibly drive the other into the needle. What do you guys think?
Maybe I could do a wireless small turn table with low latency? Or if teenage engineerings TP7 had a fader.. not sure.
If I knew electrical engineering I’d make one myself
Curious how many of you use stickers to mark the first beats of your track on your vinyls? I enjoy having them for ease of use, but generally keep them small to not muck up the labels.
