I think Season 2 had the best openings in any anime ever

River by Anonymouz is just so beautiful and Survival Said the Prophet absolutely killed it with Paradox. I tear up watching that damn opening every time. Especially seeing Gardar and Hjalti together and thinking about Thorfinn's story and struggle. The lyrics, the imagery, just...just...perfection. All of those who made it possible just knocked it out of the park and literally couldn't have done a better job. The endings and overall OST were amazing too of course.

I can’t wait to see what Hild becomes.

About 2 chapters into her introduction, we are be chased down by 2 boats full of Vikings, and all she can think about is killing thorfinn. Everything she does is to kill thorfinn. What a well done parallel, and expression of that whole “cycle of hatred” idea.

"Carve it" , "Engrave it" tatoo.

Hi, I would like to ask if there is someone who already did the tattoo or has a good reference. I only have found a tattoo made in japanese, but I would like to know if there is someone who did it in Runic Alphabet as I subjectively think it suits better. TY for help :)

Drawing I did yesterday of our boy Thorfinn

Yesterday was my birthday so I attempted to get Yukimura to wish me a happy birthday like that one guy did, and I drew this to offer up as tribute. Hasn’t worked so far. Maybe he just hasn’t seen it yet.

Either way I’m really happy with how he turned out for having done this without using a pencil. Only part I would redo is the eyes and the chin.

Kinda a dumb question about King sweyn ...

So I just reached the episode when Canute went back to the palace and confront his father but I'm confused why the king just prepared the archer before the meeting ?

Isn't the point of killing one of his two sons is to give the superior one the throne and avoid political war , and he know canute is a changed man ( the fact that he consider the archer before confronting him and he know canute just tame Thorkell ) so why kill him , why not reconsider between him and his brother and make his mind opposed to killing him ASAP ? Is it personal hatred agaisnt canute

So I'm planning to watch Vinland Saga eventually. I plan to watch it dubbed. I was wondering if you guys think if either the sendai dub or the Netflix dub is better?

Why didn’t thorgil join the jomsvikings?

He loves war, and he loves fighting. I think if he joined the jomsvikings then he’d not only get that, but he’d be in pretty decent standing. I hope he returns to the series

Can manga thorfinn defeat thors?

I’m talking about the thorfinn from the Baltic war arc. Thorfinn still beat garm in a fair fight, even without any weapons. Plus he was holding back quite a bit, and garm is pretty equal to thorkell. Thors is also stronger than thorkell, but so is thorfinn right now. If thorfinn really wanted to win the fight, would he have been able to defeat thors?

R2: blooflusted thorfinn vs Thors

When is this series most likely going to end?

Estimstes from within past few years made everyone think it was gonna end in 2025 or 2026, but thh thats doesnt seem to making any sense whatsoever. I cant sees it end before 2028 or so tbh but wondering what everyone thinks. We are on final arc but issue is this series has weekly shonen pacing and chapter lengths but with monthly release with some breaks. That is good, I hope Yukimura can takes even more break however much he want bc manga writer health is biggest important of everything btw. But wondering where estimates is now

What volume should I buy after watching season 2?

I swore that I will be Anime-only for Vinland Saga but its ending soon, so I want to read the manga before its ending and season 3 onwards. What VOLUME should I pick up after watching both s1&2 of Vinland Saga? I'm ONLY gonna pick up the events after season 2 to catch up with the manga for now.

How good does the series get after the Anime

Hey guys, I finished the anime a few weeks ago and I just got the first deluxe of the manga. I'm looking forward to reading after where the series left off (I could just start from there but I wanna get all of the manga anyways)

Does it keep getting better from where it left off?

What would actually happen in the Grikkland/Miklagard Arc

Personally, I don't entirely know much, but Snake said he was the protector of Miklagard, so maybe he and Iron Fist Ketil would make an appearencee

I Have *One* Enemy

When I first heard of this series and Thor’s viewpoint, my immediate thought was “Wow, that’s dumb.” I had no context, no understanding of who he was or who Thorfinn was/would be. But, several months later, my viewpoint changed. I wasn’t sure about posting this, but one of the commenters on my last post acknowledged that Jesus had no enemies, and that was an encouragement to me to do this.

As I stated in a comment in my last post, I am a devout Christian. This is not to be a shove-anything-down-your-throat post, or a preachy one…more of a vulnerable confession. I have known too many Christians who were cowards—not willing to stand up for themselves or for the weak and helpless, to the point of other people losing belief in God because of it. This is the stance I believed Thors had, which is unbiblical. I have always had a strong desire to make sure justice was preserved, and prevented multiple problems from occurring in terms of harassment and assault, using force once when absolutely necessary.

Of course, I was aware of the other side of the coin; Christians who make everyone their enemy, unnecessarily pushing people away, judging nonbelievers hypocritically and making mountains out of molehills. Even stances they took that I believed in and agreed with, they did so in a way that was vengeful or spiteful, and I did try to avoid that as much as I could.

But no enemies? I thought to myself. Ridiculous! I mean, even the Bible says you’ll have them, as a believer! Sure, it says to pray for them, love them, act in such a way that they’ll see you’re different and want to be different themselves…almost as if…you’re treating them like they’re not your enemy…oh.

It was during a time of talking with God about the way I had treated some people at work that He brought this up, brought the show to my mind once again, and I started watching it. I hadn’t intended to treat them rudely, I just didn’t want to be taken advantage of, be a doormat…but I had gone about it in a poor way, due to some workplace hurt I had experienced my first couple years on the job. I hadn’t realized until this confrontation by the Holy Spirit. So I watched the show. Like the real world, everyone in it is a victim/slave to the violence and recompense thereof. And the more I watched, the more I began to agree with Thors, with a slight exception.

As a believer in Jesus, we do technically have one enemy—Satan—he infects everything. Anyone who behaves in an evil manner is not to be viewed as an enemy, but a victim of the one enemy and the sin that tries to control us and separate us from God and others.

This is not something that was completely new to me; I had tried very hard in a lot of ways to love my enemies, and succeeded in many of them. But I always expected I would have some, because of my justice-minded personality. But as I observed Thors protect his men, and as I watched Thorfinn learn his own lessons, I began to more deeply understand the difference between someone being “in the way,” as I’ve begun to call it, and a legitimate enemy. You can protect your family, yourself, and the innocent, while having no animosity towards the aggressor themselves. After all, they’re a victim, too, even if that victimhood leads them to their death (assuming last resort, etc.).

I am far from perfect. I still have plenty of growing to do. I wish I was further along than I am and that it didn’t take me so long to find a better balance…I have stories from my life that encourage me now that I did have some kind of knowledge/intention of this, just not as many as I’d like, and not as much of an understanding as I have now. But I am slowly but surely whittling down my enemies to the only one that matters. And if you believe the way I believe, you know he’s already lost the war, anyway.
