Finished vol14 of manga and with deep sadness hesitant to read further. Love king Canute, Askelad etc. however checked spoilers and sadly, Sadly Thorfinn is lost for me as a character. Not only I dislike him but find the whole idea of karate vikings as laughable and ahistorical (if there are God forbid more characters like that in the future). So the question is how much (in% :) ) exposure in future volumes will Thorfinn get? I really loved the vibe until he got emmasculated and didn't even kill the slave owner. So I would have read it for different characters but the title says what it says and now he is going to travel there...
so im on ep9 rn and i know the king of denmark is Sweyn. But who is the king of england at that moment (the side thorkell is on who is said to ran away to the franks)
On the latest chapter of 216, you can see the people he killed.
If having no enemies means forgiveness, then does it mean to forgive rapists, pedofiles and murderers too? How does one differentiate who to forgive and who not to?
I have kind of embarked on a mental health mission where I've tried to follow the values of wisdom through kindness seen in the big 3 of seinen manga. Are there any major books or films or really any media that I should consume in order to better my understanding of this kind of thing? My goal is to sort of develop the habbits of kindness to be a better person overall.
I was having art block and decided to draw some pannels and used fountain pen for 1st time, turned out good tho
I finally convinced my dad to watch Vinland with me, I know the English dub is great but....... He doesn't speak English 🫠 Anybody knows if the Spanish Dub is good enough? (Btw, the sub isn't an option, he said that he will only watch it if it's dubbed)

and 2 seconds in a certain characters voice in a flash back sounds VERY different was there a voice actor change? I've been enjoying the show up to this point.
There's this soundtrack which is living rent free into my head at the beginning of the episode. I tried to find it but no luck .... 0:28 i think it starts there so can someone let me knowwww 😭😭😭
My personal favorite from the first season is when Thorfinn gets his first kill, the emotion displayed in that scene is beautiful. From season 2 id have to say the whole wagon ride with arnheid and gardar is soo heart touching. The flashback, the music, it all came together. What about yall?
Anyone who has read the english subs on netflix knows that they are genuinely terrible. Are there any better alternatives or should i just watch the dub?
Hey guys, just finished reading chapter 216, and the lnu vs nords war arc is crazy, didnt expect it. Its gonna take another month(dec 24) for the next chapter to release which is kind of disappointing. Im curious to hear what theories you guys have on what will happen in the next chapters, and when vinland saga will end...
(this is the first manga im reading, so idk if its the right thing to say, but i feel like the latest chapters are very slow, although i have still enjoyed reading them.)
Hi everyone ! Im a french content creator and Vinland Saga is really important for me. I already talk about it in my first video
But i really want to make a second one about how i feel after one year of No Enemies.
Can you help me by sharing what it is for you not having Enemies and how do you stay in that mindset ?
Thank you and sorry for my English :')
I just rewatched Miyazaki's Nausicaä, and while watching it, I often thought that Thorfinn's journey and way of thinking are very similar to Nausicaä's.
Not exactly, of course—there are many differences—but some things are very similar, like her desire for non-violence after nearly killing Yupa.
That's all, really—I just found this thought amusing and wanted to share it.
My god bro it was amazing. The characters I loved the story great and I love complex characters askeladd I feel bad for the guy despite everything he’s done and poor thorfinn dedicated 11 years of his life to ending askeladd’s only for Canute to kill him and that look of pure distraught and desperation on his face my god. I actually cried the last episode it was just so damn good.
found this video on vinland saga & it's the greatest vinland saga of all time, probably. it's about yukimura, philosophy & the history about the real thorfinn karlsefni and how his life went about. (totally not my own video btw)
Do you think Thorfinn still has a long way to be what his father truly wants him to be?
Or just how similar the son is to his father?
Because if a situation similar to their first meeting of Askeladd happened, I can't imagine Thorfinn would give a weapon (hypothetically, if somehow a dagger is nearby) to Karli. Yet.
I think Thorfinn still has a ways to go to be like his father.
