I thought for like a year after watching season 2 it was over but apparently the mangas still going lol. Does it ever get better than 1 and 2? I rly don’t see how it could I don’t doubt it’s amazing but it’s not consistently as great as the first two seasons were I wanna leave off at my own ending. Just did the same with Vikings season 3 and I love it.
NGL - I cried when I reached this panel. Too wholesome. This is what PEAK character development is!
Before you say he would despise it remember that Thorfinn’s clan has weapons (axes, spears, and bows) just not swords as they’re purely used for war and the dualing shield even though is made for the same purpose is mostly made out of a “weapon” that is used for primarily used for defending the welder.
Made with acrylic paint and Musou black! I enjoyed making this one!
The plot and the main characters are really different. But I can't help thinking they are very similar in some aspects.
I enjoyed it so far, a really unique show with unique protagonists
What did they each teach thorfinn?
First time watching this series, just watched episode 14 and it really hit hard.
I think the way Vinland Saga incorporates christianity into the story is very nicely done.
A lot of anime’s just prefer to not bring religion into their stories but the way this one does is very balanced in my opinion, Its not forceful and it feels realistic.
Outside of the religious parts of episode 14, This episode really slaps you in the face with the horrors of war if the previous episodes didn’t already.
Just my thoughts, Im off to go watch episode 15 now haha
Here´s my take:
Miskwekepu´j: Sho Hayami: (Sousuke Aizen, Nicholas Wolf Wood, Umibozu)
Niskawaji'j: Hina Yomiya (Taoqi, Shinju Inui, Anna Yamada)
Ga'aoqi: Fumihiko Tachiki (Youpi, Akainu, Don Krieg, Kenpachi)
Plmk: Tomoaki Maeno (Zhongli, White-Blood Cell, Invel)
Gitpi: Joji Nakata (Alucard, Kirei, Sol Badguy)
Mui´n: Hochu Otsuka (Jiraiya, Sakonji, Satou)
Just finished the anime and I did not expect to chuckle so much in the first chapter. Not the little rich boy cut 😆! I wonder why they didn’t add this in the final cut of the anime. Hopefully I get to see more of Thorgil and Snake, they are both my favourite characters. Time for a great read.
So I just finished ep 4 and I kind of expected more? Don’t get me wrong, I’m really sad Thors died but I sort of thought he was going to get a more gut punching death, cause while I am sad he died, it didn’t really affect me that much cause his death was not really what I expected. If that makes sense. I’m guessing it’s suppose to be this way? Like the creator of the show intended for him not to get a more “heroic” death.
Edit: Never mind! I miss this guy so damn much 😭
all i could say is.. holy fuck this series is good.
I cant stand Einar, since all this mess started I really really hate him. I am sorry Thorfinn, but I really want to beat his ass.
Cry all you want in front of Canute by saying "NOO STOP I DONT WANT YOU KINGS TO TAKE EVRYTHING FROM ME WOMP WOMP" the fucker did not think not even once about the desease afflicting the LNU.
MF didnt learn anything by Thorfinn's experience.
Will he redeem himself? Probably but for now I Will keep hating him.
Started a rewatch of the anime after catching up on the manga and picked up a few things that I never really paid attention to before.
Leif’s character. He starts off by wearing a ceremonial headgear given to him by the tribes, as a mark of a true warrior. I feel like Thorfinn may also be given something that recognizes him as a true warrior. Leif also mentioned that he was searching for Vinland because he was running away from war, similar to what Thorfinn will end up having to do.
Visions of Vinland. The start of the whole show Thors sees Vinland and his wife. It’s what compels him to leave the Jomsviking. Then right before the prisoner dies, Thors describes Vinland to him. The prisoner thinks he already made it there. This reinforces the whole idea that Vinland isn’t some place you go to, it’s wherever you are, a state of mind, a feeling that arises when you’re with people that protect you and care about you.
Thors and Leif teaching Thorfinn. I think a major theme throughout the show is the idea of fatherhood, and how Thorfinn was shaped by Thors, Askeladd and Leif. I think the ending will somehow show Karli being shaped by Thorfinn, and how the idea of peace and freedom is something that is passed on along generations.
Ultimately I think the experiment will fail, they will return to Greenland, and Thorfinn will inspire the next generation to keep searching for Vinland.
This show is truly something else and has me up late at night thinking and rambling…
I love this song and it reminds me of Vinland Saga. So I made a small edit (I almost never do edits so bear with me 😭)
Why did the Welsh rejected Askeladd, even though he was half Danish, he did told them he heavily hated the Danes, even including his own men, plus it would possibly be the main reason why he loathed himself too.
I understand that yeah it made sense of rejecting him cause he was sullied by brutish viking blood but it was quite clear he shown no love or loyalty to Danes and he could have been useful to the Welsh kingdoms.
I can't understand the character of halfdan. Why did he ask thorfinn to become his adopted son and be his successor? And as soon as Sigurd arrived, He announced his Grandson to be his successor. So why did he ask thorfin ? Was it a test or he was genuinely asking? Why does he take farms and land from men? Why does he like to exchange their pride with money? What does he want with thorfinn?
