So im a freshmen and we just got emails about applying to become an RA for the upcoming academic year. How hard is it to become an Ra? Other than getting free boarding and meals, do they pay anything extra? What kind of questions do they ask when interviewing?
Anyone know cute coffee shops to do work at around here that aren’t on campus or la colombe?

Hey everyone, so I've applied EA for chemistry for premed and minor in CS. I was wondering how the chem program is at Villanova. I went on a tour there a while ago, and my tour guide was more a arts person so she didn't say that much on sciences.
I've visited the campus and I liked it.
What do you guys think of Villanova in general? Like how are the people, food, etc. I haven't heard much about Villanova social life and stuff like that so I'm wondering about that.
Villanova isn't high up on my list right now since I'm not sure about its programs and stuff. The main things its got going for me right now is its campus. I'm applying to other schools like Pitt and Drexel which are my top 2 probably, so how is it compared to them you think?

I'm a current freshman computer science major thinking of double majoring in Math. I'm taking Calc III right now and I'm somewhat ahead on the computer science requirements because of AP credits.
As I'm planning my second semester of freshman year, I don't plan on taking any of the other Math major required courses (because I'm trying to stay ahead on gen eds and compsci requirements) meaning I would only start the rest of the Math courses at the beginning of my sophomore year.
Is this still manageable, would you recommend it?
I’m applying to the college of arts and science but I have a low gpa and test optional.

My wife and I never pushed her to do all APs because we didn’t realize how the rigor of classes affects admissions. We also wanted her to enjoy High School and not be totally absorbed and stressed out like so many top students.
Does she have a chance?
Hey!
I wanted to get some advice as I plan on applying for Villanova in the future.
I am currently a junior. I have about a 3.8 GPA right now and had about a 3.5 GPA last year. I was a very lazy freshman with around a 3.0 GPA. I don't take any AP classes.
What I lack in academics, I try to make up for in experience -- I've worked at a retirement home, interned with a county judge, interned with my congressman, interned with a civil law firm, and will be interning with a criminal law firm later this year.
I used to do marching band, was a volunteer firefighter for some time, was on the school's mock trial team, and was in FBLA which all gave me a ton of community service hours. I also have an exterior firefighter certification from my county. I haven't really done much recently -- I kind of dropped all of it during my sophomore year.
However, I will be doing all of that again through my junior and senior years -- Model UN, FBLA, volunteer firefighting, and the school's newspaper. I was the secretary of the school newspaper last year.
I have not taken the SAT or ACT yet.
Any advice would be great!
I’m applying to the college of liberal arts and science and I’m wondering what the process is of declaring your major for economics. I want to minor in the business school so I would have to get certain business classes, is there a chance I don’t get them? Is there any chance I don’t get admitted into the economics program? And how can I ensure I get into the right classes so I can get a business minor or maybe transfer into the business school?
Here are the main points of my application. I'm applying ED and I know it's a reach

Schools ED to Villanova
Anyone know if getting a medical marijuana card is possible as an on campus student? Do they need an address to sign up and would it be safe to send to campus? Dealing with lots of anxiety and chronic pain and really would like some low dose tinctures or edibles to deal with it but can’t find any rec stuff in the area.
I have a night class at St Mary's Hall once a week and was wondering if I would still have to purchase a parking pass to park there. Has anyone gotten a ticket there at night?
Hey Wildcats,
With the 2024 election approaching, I wanted to remind everyone how important it is for young people to get out and vote, especially here in Pennsylvania, which has historically been a key swing state and is even more critical in 2024. Your vote really can make a difference in determining the outcome of this election, and the youth vote could be a game-changer.
Here are a few quick facts:
Both Early Voting and Mail-in must be completed BEFORE Oct 29th.
There are no excuses to sit this one out—whether it’s voting early, by mail, or on Election Day. Your voice is critical, and we need as many young voters as possible to turn out.
Want to make it fun?
I’ve also been working on a project called Presidential Pick'em, where you can predict the outcome of the 2024 election by filling out your own electoral map. It’s a great way to get involved, see what others are thinking, and maybe even challenge your friends! There’s even a pool specifically for Pennsylvania voters.
Let's make sure our generation is heard this election—and hey, maybe you’ll even have the best prediction!

Why Vilanova Law tips?
Hello,
I am applying to law schools here. An international student who wants to study business law. I realized I have so many things to write for this school! Phew
Two questions.
In the application it says to write one optional essay (about five qualities), but in the application, it gives an option of second optional essay (but with the same topic). I am assuming this is just a glitch. I should just write one then right?
As Villanova is a school I would really like to go, I am thinking about writing Why Villanova essay. Can anyone please help me what makes Villanova stand out (different) from other law schools?
-What makes Philadelphia legal market so appealing compared to that of Chicago or New York?
-What law is Villanova known for and why is it so well-known? Anything that they do to make it so special?
-Any “only in Villanova” moments? That is unique? (Atmosphere, class profile, learning environment, externship and clinic opportunities…)
If Villanova students or alumni reading this, please feel free to make contributions. Thank you
Even though you’re automatically given an internship, I don’t know if my major in PR is going to give a lucrative career. I actually enjoyed my economics classes that I did in my first year, is it possible sophomore year next semester to get an A in Macro, switch majors, and get an econ internship(s) in my later years?
Hi,
I'm applying to Villanova in a couple of days, and I'm just curious about the supplemental essay through Common App. Villanova generally states that the supplemental essay should be "in about 250 words." However, the bracket in which I'm supposed to put the essay allows me to enter up to 300 words. I won't make it longer than 250 words, but would this, hypothetically, hurt my application if I had written more than 250 words? Really just curious about this.
Is it possible to get accepted with a low gpa? like has anyone got in recently with around a 3.0-3.5 on a 4.0 scale?
