Has anyone used HRS KP Automation with KiPro Gos? Any other options I should know about for scheduling recordings on KiPros?
I've hit a wall trying to find a solution to my problem, so I'm hoping someone here can offer more informed advice.
I'm trying to get an older (late 2000s era) optical system working with an external field monitor with limited success. The issue is that the sensor outputs an RS-170 video feed, and the hardware uses a BNC connector. Being a total noob, I picked up a relatively inexpensive Liliput 7" field monitor with SDI & HDMI inputs, but it doesn't seem to read the signal. I'm assuming the problem is the device is outputting an SD-SDI signal while the monitor is expecting an HD or 4K SDI-based signal.
Is there are similar field monitor out there that can take an RS-170 signal via SDI connection? Or is there a converter that I could run off of USB power? The portability is my main issue - I need to use this for several hours remotely and everything needs to fit in a pack.
Thinking about building a system using the Aja router as the base but have been hearing how limited the matched remote panels are. What third party solutions do do people recommend?
edited to use the word "limited"
Hello , I’ve installed this nova star video wall and after setup I’ve come back to the unit and it is very dim even with brightness turned to 100 I’ve tried adjusting everything in the VMP software to no changes any help is appreciated thank you the picture makes the screen look a lot brighter than it is thank you .
Hi. How do we put a graphic into a TriCaster stream when not streaming a live camera feed? If someone could provide step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow for people who have no clue what they are doing, that would be great. Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I recently updated an old Tricaster TCXD 8000 to the AE2. After reinstalling all the software and content I am not be able anymore to find the example clips that comes with the Tricaster, such the as green screen clip and that truck that morph in a Newtek Logo.
Did they change the path? I suspect they changed the path and the content installaller is not able to install such a content anymore.
Any ideas? Thank you.
Need some help troubleshooting please. Not getting video feed on my setup.
I think I have ruled out any individual issues with the Receiver, Optical HDMI and Projector based on the tests above. However connecting them together just gives a blank screen. I can't even get the projector menu to display.

I am curious about how much this kind of devices are indeed used. It is about those boxes with enough power to encode the video of an HDMI input. They usually have a HDMI output as loopback and Ethernet connection. Given that many users just stream from their computer using OBS with all the fancy tools, why would they use an external hardware for it?
Anyone watching this? Someone needs to turn off or adjust the keying..I’m seeing right through the guys
Fujinon digipower 50 box lense: camera/ccu not getting iris telemetry and of course no control. Is this one of those lenses that needs a seperate iris control unit?
Edit- Thank you everyone. The answer is that serial control has to be turned off in order for the lense to pass iris control.
Anyone have experience using a JVC SA-T400U TBC? I have a chance to get one but I've never used a TBC before, so I don't know if it's worth getting. I'd use it to (hopefully) improve the quality of VHS tapes recorded in SLP/EP mode.
Thanks.
I am still at a loss how BM can say on their website that the 8K recorder does four independent 4K records... Yet here we are, unable to use it as a multichannel recorder.
For an upcoming dancing event, we want to have tv's in the changing rooms (2 separate rooms). On these screens should be a live feed of what's happening on-stage.
The two rooms don't have any windows, they just have a door. However, the two rooms are right next to each other.
The camera will be stationed in the back of the theater. I don't have exact measurements yet, but I guess the distance from the camera to the nearest room is about 50meters.
We don't want the feed to go over the internet, or using a wireless connection. Personally, I was thinking of creating a LAN with a switch. By doing this, we can connect a laptop to the tv's, and wire them up using UTP cables.
I don't like the idea of using HDMI cables and extenders, as these are expensive and the quality/signal gets worse the longer they get.
However, I thought I'd post here to see if anyone has experiences/ideas on how to go about this.
Thank you in advance!
how can i detect availability scte35(slices to insert ads) inside of .ts file using linux tools (ffmpeg or another tool)?
I purchased an optical multimeter so that I could test mostly Single Mode ST fiber strands on broadcast trucks.
I have the option to change what I believe is the wavelengths of the fiber strands on my meter. The options are all in "nanometers" 850, 1300, 980, 1270, 1577, 1310, 1550, 1490, 1625, 1650.
I am not familiar with the difference in the numbers or how to determine which one to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello hive mind.
Curious what everyone is utilizing for image mapping software nowadays. I've got a project coming up in a few months where I have to coordinate an event that will project a series of still images on a very large surface and the client has requested that I utilize their multiple in house projectors. The way that this has been explained to me is that in the past, they have used either Playback Pro or Cue Lab to blend and map each individual image as they go, which the way I understood it, they had to blend and adjust every single image over the 8-10 projectors instead of having one master mapped output and adjusting each image to fit that mapping. I'm hoping I'm misunderstanding what they were doing since this seems like a ridiculously slow and painful process, but when I checked the video documentation, it seems like that's what they are doing.
Since I've been away from the video world for a while, I was hoping some folks here would have a suggestion on budget friendly software that can blend 8-10 projectors and be able to easily integrate mapping to Playback Pro or Cue Lab so that they can just drag and drop images and save the mapping headache.
I was looking at Isadora since it seems to be able to do exactly what I think needs to happen, but wanted to ask here first.
Hi, I have a small animation studio specializing in video art and 3d visualizations in the art field. We have done some pretty nifty stuff. A got a job offer for a pretty big project which includes many custom made animations for a boutique hotel but also 2 interactive experiences that sound on paper very simple.I think that I'm ready to take on myself not only the animations but the interactive part. Software development, testing, and installation. I'm getting cold feet estimating the budget for the installation.
Client wants a projection of a cloud that responds gently when a visitor walks "through" it, to the left or to the right.
I estimate it as 2 shifts of a unity programmer, 1 day of design, and 3 days for installation and tests. Am I in the ballpark?
EDIT: I know that I should need a good projector, a strong laptop, and motion sensors. It's the labor I'm having a hard time estimating
I have owned multiple ENG camera bodies with these two screw holes but always wondered what these are for. Neither they were stated on the user or maintenance manual. Can somebody please explain the purpose of these to me?
What type of fibre cable is used to connect the CVT to a processor, is it multimode fibre like this OM4 LC to LC Fiber?
Hi! I've been working in the live events industry for 10 years. I've done it all—corporate events, social gatherings, shows, festivals. Three years ago, I started my own company with a partner, and we're experiencing significant growth. We launched during the pandemic with the boom of purely virtual events, then transitioned to hybrids, and today we really do it all. We specialize in streaming, CCTV, and everything related to video operations.
Currently, we have a setup of 4 PTZ cameras, 3 small camcorders, a substantial number of laptops, 2 servers, and several other pieces of equipment. Here's where I seek advice: in which direction would you take the business? My partner believes we should move toward a more comprehensive approach, meaning equipping ourselves to handle small-scale audio (up to 100-150 pax) and adding some lighting gear. I think we should stay focused on video/CCTV, aiming for a quality upgrade and leveling up our gear—maybe building another server or finding ways to further improve the services we already provide in our specific field.
We both agree that, at some point, we’ll inevitably need to invest in a few meters of LED screen, fully aware of what that entails (a larger warehouse, a bigger vehicle for transportation, a dedicated crew of assembly technicians, and an electronics specialist for maintenance). It’s definitely on our radar. We’re also considering LED totems that work as banners—they come in sets of 2-3 in a flight case and can be used to form a larger LED screen, using a Novastar system.
On another note, it’s just the two of us managing everything: accounting, administration, logistics, payments, and we often feel overwhelmed during busy periods. For now, we’re using Current as our inventory and budgeting system, but I feel like we’re not fully utilizing its potential. Could you suggest an alternative, perhaps something more affordable? Primarily for inventory and budgeting purposes.
Thanks!
I there some kind of video delay device ? Ive got a sony HX310 and a Sony Bravia 9 in my new HDR color grading suite, the HX310 is "fast" and I was able to dial in the audio delay to get AV sync perfectly in software.
The bravia 9 however in its professional mode apparently has 250ms processing delay it seems, which is a lot obviously, I think I can dial that down using game or graphics mode - to get them close
but I dont want "close" I want -perfection-, there has got to be some kind of device that allows me to do this and get everything in perfect sync? I just cant find anything that actually supports 12G SDI / HDMi 2.0 and HDR metadata and all that? Best one I saw (not sure about metadata) was the for.A EDA1000 - but that thing is a cold hard $10.000+ which is frankly a bit insane as thats like 2x the price of the TV .
I would need maybe 250ms at most at 12G, could probably live with less if i can dial down the input delay of the bravia 6 without affecting its image quality, not sure if just "needs time" for local dimming to do its thing proper?
Hi, I am trying to build 1x16 multi-viewer but I need some guidence.
Input = 720P (1280x720)
Output = 5K (5120x2880)
I do not need any audio support.
Option 1 : 4 of 4x HDMI capture card (Magewell or Blackmagic)
This is the most elegant solution I could think but its quite pricey ($1000 ish).
Option 2 : Cheap Ali 1x16 multiviewer with 4k hdmi capture card
Some what affordable but disappointing 4k30p and unreliable device ($500 ish)
Option 3 : 16 of HDMI over IP Device
Something like LKV373. It can transform 720p into h264 or mpga
This needs lots of work of sourcing old hardware that I can use some special firmware ($800 ish)
I wonder if there is any better and cheaper option to achieve my goal.
Thanks!
Hey,
are there any USB capture cards with more than one input? Would that be too much to handle for USB? Or is it possible to use 2x USB capture cards on one PC?
We have a streaming rig with a BMD Decklink Duo running VMix and I'm quite happy with it. On rare occasions we get requested to run 2-4 streams in parallel though (corporate events, so mostly some kind of splitscreen is needed) and currently my setup for additional streams is using 2 BMD Atem minis, one switching presentations and the other one putting out pip/cameras over USB into VMix. I would prefer to have all video ins separately in VMix (at least 2, 3-4 would be perfect) but because we don't get to do this often I would rather not build more rigs with pcie capture cards but use one of the laptops we already have.
Any ideas how to handle that more professionally? Should I just rent out additional streaming rigs?
Hi everyone,
My school recently purchased a Blackmagic Ultimatte 12 4K and tasked me with setting it up. Unfortunately, I’m completely new to this kind of equipment, and they bought it assuming I’d figure it out. I could really use some help!
Here’s what I’m trying to do:
Despite this setup, the Ultimatte keeps saying it "cannot find a camera." I’ve checked all the connections, and everything is powered on, but I’m stuck.
Has anyone worked with this setup before? Could it be a settings issue with the R6, the HDMI-SDI converter, or the Ultimatte itself? Any advice on troubleshooting or setup steps would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Does anyone have any experience with interfacing the M1 with an RTS intercom matrix?
Are you able to differentiate the groups in the M1 on the RTS side? Say you have "Floor Director" using a beltpack, but you want CAMS to be using the same station on different group and have the ability to talk to only CAMS or only the floor director via a KP-12 ... possible?
What's the difference between the 11-year-old AJ-PX5000G vs the current AJ-PX5100GJ? Reading the specs, they look almost identical HD cameras.
The minor differences I see are that the new 5100 has HDR HLG and a higher resolution LCD screen and that's it. Both of them seem to have the same sensor, same outputs, same everything.
What does the "J" at the end stand for?
I got a good offer for a second hand AJ-PX5000G and would like to know if its HD image is up to today's standards. Thanks!
Yes, the AJ-CX4000GJ is a completely different beast with a single large UHD sensor.
I know the barrel on the right is 75 ohms. But is the one on the left?
I’m looking at the dielectric and am scratching my head. Thanks
Hey!
I'm in need of a software, preferably for macos, that can record growing files in 100fps for use with Davinci Replay.
I've found Softron Movie Recorder, but at 2k it seems very pricey. Any good alternatives?
