Do you live in Seattle? Are you vegan?

Inspired from a post on r/vegan where OP discovered “Nutella Soya Chunks” from in-person Indian grocery stores to be super cheap soy chunks compared to Amazon
We're looking to move back into the city and are targeting neighborhoods with a light rail stop. Outside of PCC, are there any places to grab vegan grub in Columbia City? Not much comes up doing a search.
A regional rooster sanctuary is hosting a fully vegan dinner to raise funds
Flocktoberfest is back by popular demand at The Bayside Cafe! Flocktoberfest is our unique take on the German tradition of Oktoberfest, combining our love of food and drink with our love of roosters. Enjoy a German-themed three-course vegan meal, drinks, and games while catching up with old friends, making new ones, and supporting the flocks of Rooster Haus Rescue.
From their Instagram:
A massive thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us as Best Mexican Restaurant in the PNW. We won second place in the Mexican Restaurant category! 🥈
This is a huge win for our team and everybody who has been supporting us. It’s an honor to be the only Mexican restaurant (in Seattle) that placed in this category which we were told has one of the largest number of businesses nominated.
And an extra thank you to the crew at Rojo’s who worked hard this summer, NWHC, and to the friends and family who made this journey easier.
Has anyone been able to find vegan quesabirria here in WA? I'll literally travel to any city for them. I had them in LA back in 2021 and I've been chasing that high ever since 😭
We are taking the train down from Vancouver and staying in South Lake Union on Friday the 27th, then driving to Leavenworth later on the 28th (may stop at the outlet mall for clothes if we have time, but unsure if its worth it for timing).
We will have a car (meeting up with a friend with a car) so definitely willing to drive places if its worth it.
I remember going to Wayward Vegan and Plum Bistro for breakfast (will probably go to Wayward Vegan on the 28th as Plum was a biiit pricey for our tastes, and it was pretty packed).
We have a 3 year old with us, so it might mean going to Life On Mars again might be tricky, but am open to any and all suggestions.
And anything around Leavenworth places would be great (would imagine it would be a bit trickier).
Thanks!
I have visited the Bellingham veg fest for the last 2 years, I am very excited for the third time this year.
Going to a Mariners game today and I’m wondering if yall have any winners/losers vegan food-wise?
I thought we had some decent vegan restaurant options in Seattle and its outskirts. That wasn’t until I traveled to Europe. Budapest and Prague had an overwhelming variety of vegan restaurants! Truly so many options, a plethora of cuisines, all within walking distance from one another. I wasn’t just impressed by the quantity of choices, but the meals were top notch. Napfényes in Budapest was hands down the best vegan food I’d ever tried. Makes the Seattle vegan food scene pale in comparison :/ makes me wonder if there’s more of a demand for vegan restaurants in the EU than in the states (can’t speak for any part other than Seattle)
Looking to see if anybody knows a caterer in the Seattle area that does wedding catering. ~120 peeps. Doesn't HAVE to be solely vegan but much preferred. Thanks!
My absolute favorite, check out their menu: https://ramendanbo.com/our-menu-seattle/#vegan
I just visited Seattle for the first time and holy crap, Plum Bistro has the best mac and cheese I've had since going vegan 9 years ago. Probably for the best I dont live in the area as I'd most likely want to eat it everyday and end up doubling in weight, but I would love to try and make it myself. Anyone have any ideas on what they put into it?
Vegan cream cheese? My partner says it reminds him a bit of carbonara.
Tofu? Kind of seemed like a really soft ricotta, reminiscent of tofu ricotta I make for lasagna.
Thoughts?
Hi there, I have no affiliation with this fair and I have not been to it in previous years but I'm excited to go this weekend. Has anyone been before? Any recommendations for vendors I should check out?
HappyCow is not in the best financial state unfortunately. It's been around for 20 years, but a couple years ago they seemingly had to be acquired to stay around and as part of that their budget was reduced, though at least they still exist.
Eric doesn't give a lot of suggestions in the post below, but I think the more we use HC, contribute reviews, and update it (anyone can suggest updates) the better off it will be.
Also they have a store if you weren't aware and get a referal bonus if you buy through their links
I really appreciate Eric's (founder) candor and transparency:
Will be visiting again soon, anything new in the last few months?
Hoping to hit up Flora, Wayward, Pi Vegan Pizza and Frankie & Jos multiple times!
Hey y'all!
What's changed in the vegan world here in the last few months?
The sandwich and price speaks for itself, incredible value. The vegan chocolate muffin is 5/10, but worth it for $5.
Sort of a long shot but I'm hoping someone might know where I can find store-bought, unbreaded vegan shrimp. It's for a recipe I'm going to attempt. I can find some options on Amazon but it's a one week delivery time and that's too late.
Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Froze-Vegetarian-Kojac-Curls-Imitation/dp/B09TG7N46Q/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=vegan+shrimp&qid=1699456371&sr=8-2
I checked Whole Foods (Redmond) and PCC (Issaquah) and neither carried it. Honestly if it's not at either of those stores I don't know where else it could be. But I'm hoping y'all might be able to help!
Hi everyone,
I've been having Lazy Cow bakery's desserts/food from even before their brick and mortar days. I admire what they do for the community which is why I felt sad when I came across this petition: https://www.change.org/p/save-lazy-cow-bakery-casa-del-xolo.
If you like the bakery and can spare a few minutes to sign/share the petition, please consider doing so.
Thanks.
Late last night I walked past the storefront which was formerly Galaxy Rune and now it looks like it has been remodeled into a place called Vital Creations. A quick google shows it might be a new vegan spot. Anyone have any info?
The popular Portland-based doughnut chain Voodoo Doughnut is making plans for its first Seattle location, which would be its second restaurant in Washington.
The soon-to-be doughnut shop will be located at 1201 Pine St. at the corner of Pine Street and Minor Avenue on Capitol Hill. Voodoo Doughnut CEO Chris Schultz said Wednesday that the store is targeting an opening date in early spring 2024.
Voodoo Doughnut makes vegan doughnuts, though they also sell non-vegan ones. They're going to have a long line every day for the first month I think.
