Is it worth it to use a travel agent and is it expensive? I need to plan a trip for 3 to Spain in Dec. Are there any recommendations for travel agents? Or any travel tips on booking for flights and maybe a car?
Does anyone have any recommendations for Happy Hours in Vancouver and Camas?
I have a chainlink fence that someone backed into and I need to get it repaired. Have you worked with a fence company and have been happy with their work? Love any personal recommendations, please. I'm near the Costco off Padden if it makes a difference.
Which restaurant do you guys think has the best steak and eggs in the Vancouver and/or Portland area? So far I think Joe Brown's Cafe in downtown Vancouver is my favorite but I haven't tried that many places yet.
Last night around 8pm, I saw a group of mountain or gravel cyclists hooping and hollering, all lite up, riding fast under the power lines in the green belt in the Northwest neighborhood, off NW 58th, headed down to Burnt Bridge Creek Trail. Who are you, and how can I join the fun?
Hello, I am looking for a groomer who can shave my orange cat. His back hair is matted, he gets this issue sometimes, unlike my other cat, I don’t think he grooms himself properly? Anyways, he’s not aggressive just skittish. He’s fully indoor cat, never goes outside, he does not have a rabies shot that’s up to date so I’m not sure a grooming place will take him. I used to groom him but due to health issues I don’t have the strength to right now, and he needs it desperately. I have a grooming table if anything.
Hi everyone! I have been having trouble finding affordable wedding venues (if even possible). I hope anybody has recommendations on a venue for a micro-wedding. Our budget for a venue is about $1,000 we will have about 30 guests. We are willing to drive up to 1 hour from Vancouver WA. Our vision is an intimate back yard wedding. We have debated on a Airbnb wedding but see people have bad experiences with cancellations. We would love to hear your thoughts! Even affordable vendors beyond just the venue!
I am looking to get my kid into preschool next year with the hope of moving into an elementary/middle private school after. These two schools in the area are the two I am most interested in at this point and I am hoping you guys can give me some insight to your experiences at Lady of Lourdes Catholic School or Spanish with Sarah. Or did you consider them and then end up going elsewhere?
Struggling to find anything closely related to Celiac friendly, preferably on the east side. Any recommendations?

I thought this was a good inverview. I wish we could have more long form, 1hr plus conversations with politicians. Staying in our own echo chambers and not talking with each other can lead to some bad things. That's how marriages fail. Disagreements are good, finding common ground is great. Talk with your neighbors, talk with your friends.
As the title states, [Hollister] (https://www.hollisterco.com/shop/us) a teenage/young adult clothing store that peaked in the 00s but now enjoying a nostalgia fueled comeback has filed for a business license in the Vancouver Mall. No word on the location, but keen eyed mall goers can still notice the previous location based on the hallmark fake roofing on the second floor.
Kismet a new downtown restaurant now has signage up on Main street. This has been years in the making from Chef Eric Gallanter, a previous Bay-Area chef with fine dining background. Lots of construction going on as well in the space at 910 Main Street next to long time downtown stalwart Elements restaurant.
Uptown Doomsday Safehouse is changing - A new business and liquor license was filed at the location for a bar called "Pour Choices Pub". Looks like Doomsdays days are numbered.
Speaking of Pubs another pub looks to open shortly at the location of the previous "Garage" pub on Fourth Plain across the empty. "The Local Pub" has filed a liquor license at the location across the from the long empty Kauffman's Corner strip mall.
Chain Sushi Restaurant Hissho Sushi appears to be coming to far uptown in the plaza where Safeway is located at 37th and Main. Intersting enough, their business license is listed as the same address as Safeway. Will it be connected/inside/built out of the grocery store? Remains to be seen. You may be familiar with Hissho due to them having a long standing location at PDX airport.
[La Fiesta on Main Cocina Y Tequila] (https://lafiestawestlinn.com/) will open at the former Main Event space on Main street in downtown Vancouver. This is the second location for the West Linn restaurant. Look for it open by the second week in December.
I’ve been seriously entertaining the thought of going to school to do nails for a while now, and there seems to be only 2 schools locally that offer this curriculum: Vegas Academy and Academy of Nail Technology & Arts. After receiving some information about each tuition roughly comes out to $10k 😳 it’s a lot of money and commitment and before I take tours of both schools I just need to know WHICH ONES BETTER?? There’s BARELY any reviews from students to help my direction. Can anyone weigh in that’s heard stories or has attended either?
I'm from oregon and my friend was planning to move to portland with me the thing is, his company wants him to work in washington instead of oregon we were hoping to find a walkable neighborhood with bars and food places and we were really liking se portland/richmond when we visited
after searching through some other posts, it seems like downtown and uptown are the spots in vancouver that fit what we were looking for
this brings me to my question, what are the streets that are considered uptown and downtown in vancouver? is there any definitive streets that mark the beginning and end of uptown and downtown?
all the help is much appreciated :)
Hello, Does anyone have any insight to share on the size and amenities of the postpartum rooms at Legacy Salmon Creek, WA? I am comparing Legacy with Southwest and my main tipping point is the experience/space postpartum given that one relocates you to a new room (that is difficult to find pictures of) and one stays in the same birthing suite... thank you!!
Suspect we have water intrusion into our chimney cap, already replaced our roof & gutters so fixing our chimney in the last bit! Really want a good company with fair pricing and thorough work - anyone had work done on their chimney & found a great company?
Title says it all. I just found out my go-to place, Pacific Pie Co, is gone. If anyone has suggestions for where I can find some great sweet pies as well as savory pies I would be grateful.
I was looking around for a personal trainer and ran across Northwest Personal Training online. I was wondering if anyone had recent experience with them. I'm also wondering if anyone can give any prices on their services.
I'm very unfamiliar with these things and I see no prices listed and they of course want you to come in before giving any out. I don't feel comfortable with that since I like to at least have an idea before visiting so if anyone has any info on costs, that would be extremely helpful. I'm also wondering if you join them as a gym and have to pay a membership fee or that's included when you pay for the trainer since it looks like you aren't supposed to work out there unless it's with your trainer or a group session. As I said, this is well out of my depth and I'm thankful for any information people can provide.
Hello! What have been your best kids birthday party experiences? Trying to find something different than skyzone/urban air and arcades/bowling. The child is turning ten.
Friendlings,
Can anyone recommend a good, decently priced groomer for a Goldendoodle in Vancouver? This will be her first groom and I want to ensure it will be with someone who is experienced and give her the bets possible experience for future grooms.
Many thanks
Hi, I'm Kyler from WithJoy.AI, and recently stumbled across a post where a lot of folks were very skeptical about AI in Real Estate. Some of the comments were very critical of our business and platform, so we'd like to respond to a few of the comments.
We realize the individual who made the original post is a moderator of this sub, so hopefully they are OK with a public debate on if our business is a good idea or not :)
Source post from vancouverwa: https://www.reddit.com/r/vancouverwa/comments/1f1x7an/ai_nonsense_coming_to_real_estate/
To start, we are a fully licensed WA Real Estate Firm, and we have real humans behind every offer, showing, and negotiation. You can think of "Joy", the AI part of our company, as a productivity tool for our agents.
A common accusation is that we are taking ChatGPT output and directly putting this into negotiations or our contracts. First, we don't even integrate with OpenAI / ChatGPT. Secondly, you can think of our tool as an autofill assistant, which then a real human (we refer to this as our "HALO" team if you saw our videos) reviews whatever the AI generates and corrects where necessary.
We have some really great Real Estate talent on our team. And we've already been helping our customers find the homes of their dreams while rebating them a huge portion (70%) of the buyer's agent commission. Example: Buy a $400K home with us, assuming a 2.5% commission offered to buyer's agent, and we will write you a check for $7,000 that you can apply to closing costs or use for furniture etc :)
We did see a lot of skeptical folks saying they wouldn't want to use our service. We would be grateful if you'd share more details about why. We are a local Vancouver company creating a new "AI powered" real estate brokerage, to try and take some of the high fees out of home buying. We are a small shop, and don't have funding or anything fancy like some of the other VC-backed silicon valley companies you see spinning up.
We'd love to hear how we can improve, or what you don't like about our business model. Cheers!
Hey everyone! I live in East Vancouver and today is my birthday. i don’t have any plans today after work so I was curious if any businesses in the area are known to do birthday discounts or anything like that.
I’m looking to replace the carpet in my three bedrooms and seeking recommendations for a carpet company. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!
My wife saw saw a bunch of smoke that looked like it was coming from near downtown.
