Im an exchange student coming here for a year. i’m taking mainly psychology courses for the first semester - 3 courses in period 1 then 2 courses in period 2 i’m from the uk and i’m wondering how difficult the workload is- and how hard lectures and exams actually are? i’ve came here for the experience and my home university only requires us to pass the modules (i assume that’s 5.5 on the dutch grading scale, correct me if i’m wrong) someone please tell me how difficult it is or if it’s easy, i study a hard degree at a good university back in england so was wondering if it’ll be quite relaxed and easy at Vu

I believe uni gave me the wrong tuition fee to pay so I tried to call them, but student desk is not reachable(I called for around 10 times and every time it directly went to voicemail, I can’t believe that they just cut off the line…). I also sent email to them but the auto reply said they will try to reply within 3 days which will be too late. I am somewhere far away AMS now and can’t physically visit there, what should I do?

Hello! I am a senior year high school student from greece and I’ve been lately thinking to apply in the VU in Amsterdam for a bachelor in computer science . I did the eligibility test and it turns out that I meet all the Requirements needed. But when it’s the time to select English proficiency I don’t know what to do .I have Michigan ECPE (C2) With a Cambridge assessment, but in their website the only option they have equivalent to mine is Cambridge CPE(C2) . Can they accept me with a Michigan C2?

Hello everyone! I am a third year economics student and I will be choosing a minor. I wanted to ask if anyone has ever took the Psychology and the Brain minor. I do not have any prior knowledge about studying psychology and I am curious about the difficulty of the minor and the assignments. I am also indecisive between choosing a faculty minor (especially Risk in Financial Institutions minor). Also, is choosing a minor specified in your degree important? Because I have been very interested in psychology, however I am skeptical if I should do a faculty minor to back up my degree. If anyone has ever took Risk in Financial Institutions, could you also inform me? Thank you! :)

Where you can see your agenda, studyspots and marks? Like I tried using the website on my phone but some functions didn’t work, like registering for courses.

I searched on the App Store (I use IOS) but couldn’t find anything.

Hi everyone, is there someone who has studied or will be studying Econometrics at VU? I have a bachelors in Mathematics and have some knowledge of econometrics and no knowledge of time series. The university posed a conditional requirement that I need to complete Coursera course on time series to be admitted. Currently I am going through it but do not find it to be mathematically rigorous compared to what I have seen what has been tested in the bachelors course of econometrics at VU. Will I be able to keep up with the program after finishing the course as I see most of the mandatory courses are about time series? There is also an optional workshop that VU provides for student who don’t have an econometric background which I definitely will take but I still wonder if this all will sufficient to keep up with the program. I also question the level of my programming ability. Any tips and advice would be very helpful.

I'm going to enroll in the Bioinformatics and System Biology course, and on the course page, it states that it's a "full-time" program. Does this mean there's absolutely no possibility of pursuing it part-time?

Also, what does "full-time" typically mean in terms of hours per week and the amount of time spent on campus?

I have just recieved an email from Vrije that my enrollment has been rejected due to not providing all the documents I needed. I have sent certified copies of my diploma by post and they told me that my school has to do the same by email (send scans of originals and confirm they are original) which I have done.

I don't know what to do since I have done everything they said.

In the program on the VU website for all the bachelor programmes introductions (26th and 27th of August), there are links to the corresponding Canvas courses. However, when I click on said link, it leads me to a page that simply shows a lock icon and 'Access denied'.

I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem?

Or if it is something that I have to look further into, as I am fully enrolled in the bachelor, and as these introductions require no further enrollment (mentioned several times in different emails), which leads me to wonder if there's something wrong on my part.

I am a Belgian student planning to start a master's in Environment and Resource Management at VU Amsterdam. I have a few practical questions and would love to get insights from recent students or alumni:

1. Are most of the classes mandatory to attend ?
2. Are any classes or lectures available online ?
3. For the thesis, how often is it necessary to be on campus? Can most of the work be done remotely, especially from March onwards?
4. Has anyone tried staying in a hotel during the week due to housing issues? How feasible is this option?

Hello, I just left VU to go back to my home country (USA) from my exchange in the spring. I just realized I forgot to turn my residence permit card back to the IND before I left. What can/should I do about this? What would happen if I never turned it back in?
