A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead | praydog UEVR | 6DOF | 4K Full Game + Ending
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single-player horror adventure game inspired by the acclaimed movie franchise. The protagonist, Alex, faces the challenge of managing her asthma and must navigate a treacherous apocalypse while dealing with family conflicts and her own fears.
The game's core mechanic involves a sound meter. Players must constantly monitor their sound levels to ensure they don't exceed the ambient noise. They must interact with various objects slowly and carefully to avoid making noise or risk attracting monsters. There are also noisy surfaces, such as puddles, broken glass, and scattered barrels, that players should avoid. It’s a horror game where every sound counts, and continuous noise can lead to a game over, making it quite challenging, even on Easy difficulty.
The graphics are decent, and performance is generally okay. I played on high settings in VR but experienced occasional stutters, particularly in some areas where the frame rate dropped below 52 FPS, even on a 4090.
Overall, the game captures the movie's atmosphere well. It was incredibly fun and exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend it. This game takes about 8 to 12 hours to complete. It's a great choice for fans of the movie. I would rate it 8 out of 10.

This is such a good little horror game
Everyone needs to play this
If you mess around with UEVR, here's a few demo's in next fest that work and seem worth checking out. The last one is phenomenal if you play it to the end!
Kvark | praydog UEVR | 6DOF |
Kvark is an FPS Game set in an alternate-history 80s Czech Republic in a mining facility. Players find themselves in an underground complex that is falling apart as they navigate through it. They will have to traverse dark tunnels and encounter various obstacles and enemies that will test their skills. Basically, it's a Soviet version of Half-Life! 😂
The game is quite challenging. Early on, healing items are rare and provide minimal health recovery. While the monsters don’t deal high damage individually and are not hard to avoid, but a small mistake can still lead to serious consequences. Moreover, ammunition supply is extremely limited, seemingly designed to match the number of enemies. For instance, headshots are particularly effective.
There are bosses, secrets, ability upgrades, and each level is quite long. The game runs smoothly, the music is good, and the battles are enjoyable. The unique graphic style adds charm and complements the overall atmosphere of the game. For the price, it’s definitely recommended to buy. I would rate it 8/10.

SILENT HILL 2 Remake | praydog UEVR | 1st & 3rd Person View
Investigating a letter from his late wife, James returns to where they made so many memories - Silent Hill. What he finds is a ghost town, prowled by disturbing monsters and cloaked in deep fog. Confront the monsters, solve puzzles, and search for traces of your wife in this remake of SILENT HILL 2.
Silent Hill 2 Remake effectively captures the atmosphere of the original and delivers a genuinely scary experience. The overall tone, story, groans, sticky sounds, and occasionally unsettling environmental noises, along with the radio noise that reacts when enemies approach, heighten the sense of anxiety.
Compared to recent remakes, the Resident Evil series has changed so much that the original is barely recognizable, but this game falls somewhere in between. The story and town map remain true to the original, but the progression has changed significantly, allowing for a fresh experience.
Combat in this game is similar to Homecoming from previous entries. The guard mechanic has been replaced with dodging, allowing for a turn-based attack style between you and the enemy. After you attack, an enemy will always counter, so you need to dodge. You can consistently perform three consecutive attacks, making melee combat much more reliable. You can also shoot an enemy’s legs to make them kneel and then attack, which makes the combat quite enjoyable. The melee combat is incredibly fun.
Negatives: This game could use better optimization. There are specific spots where it always drops frames even on 4090, and sometimes it’s hard to interact with objects.
The price may be a bit steep, but those who enjoy classic horror games will likely find it appealing. I would rate it 8 out of 10.

Until Dawn Remake | praydog UEVR | 1st & 3rd Person View
Until Dawn is a branching narrative survival horror game. The plot is that one year ago, three siblings twins Hannah and Beth, and their brother Josh invited seven friends to the cabin. Some of them played a prank on Hannah that went horribly wrong, leading to her and Beth being lost in the woods and presumed dead. A year later, eight friends return to the isolated lodge, surrounded by dense forests and heavy snowfall, only to find themselves trapped in a nightmare with no escape.
The gameplay involves switching between 8 protagonists to experience the story they encounter. Every choice made by the player can lead to significant consequences later in the game. Throughout the game the player makes difficult decisions during ethical and moral dilemmas. Choices can result in intense scenes of violence and gore, including characters falling to their deaths, dismemberment with blood and viscera, decapitation, and other violent deaths, including gunshots. This is what the game frequently refers to as the butterfly effect.
The visuals in Until Dawn remake are absolutely stunning. The detailed environments, immersive atmosphere, and characters facial animations look incredible. This game pays great attention to atmosphere, with an overall tone that is dark and shadowy, creating an eerie feeling throughout the scenes.
The negatives: It’s not well optimized. FPS drops by half when in Hannah’s Room, and it freezes if you double-press the B button when exiting the totems, clues, or relationships menu. In some areas it uses an old-fashioned fixed camera angle, with carefully positioned shots make the controls feel a bit clunky at times. Hopefully, a future patch will fix these problems.
I played the original on PS4, back then, I explored each chapter multiple times to see the impact of various choices. However, I found the process overwhelming and eventually stopped playing. Now that the remastered version is out, I’m eager to finally complete the game. Overall, I would rate it 7.5 out of 10 (8 if the price were lower and the menu soft lock issues were fixed).
Works Well | FPS 58-72 FPS, 4K High Settings, DLSS Quality, OpenXR, Native Stereo, Resolution Scale 1.0, VD Godlike, ASW Off, @72FPS
Note: minor graphical glitches camera is often locked to a fixed position, which means first-person view can only be used in limited areas.

Zoochosis | praydog UEVR | 3DOF |
Zoochosis is a first-person horror game where you play as Paul a night shift worker at a zoo.
The gameplay loop involves feeding the animals, collecting feces, collecting blood, measuring body temperature, conducting sound tests, diagnosing, and creating medicine. Once you complete all the tests, you can use the medicine crafting station to create the medicine based on the diagnosis you’ve identified.
Note: It seems that animals mutate as soon as you put their blood into the machine. You can take as much blood as you want, and if you run out of medicine, it arrives in your hub's mailbox. So, if you create the appropriate parasite remedy before collecting the blood, you can manage without killing them.
After making the medicine, you inject it into the sick animals with the tranquilizer gun. When aiming at them, they will run away, so make sure to aim well. If an animal mutates, inject it with a sedative to put it to sleep. Check the type of mutation by looking at the datapad, then make the appropriate food and feed it. After that, it will revert to its pre-mutation state, allowing you to create the medicine for it.
If you need to kill an animal, you can either create lethal injection darts (x3) or feed it the appropriate parasite remedy. The parasite medicine likely mimics the sick animals in that area. For example, if an animal with the plague is in the same area, you can create a parasite medicine that mimics the plague. You create the medicine by extracting blood from the animals, needing three samples. Once you finish all of this, you’ll see a notification that treatment is complete.
Overall, it’s generally enjoyable to play. The graphics are good, the game runs smoothly, the character models are well done, and the animals are cute. Zoochosis is rumored to have around 23 different endings and a playtime of 3 to 4 hours.

Pneumata | praydog UEVR | 3DOF |
Tenants are going missing, screams echo, and blood seeps through the walls of Clover Hill. As a detective, unravel the truth that lies within and recover your fragmented memories, or succumb to the horrors that lurk in the shadows within this sinister blend of survival and psychological horror. Pneumata will scare even the most seasoned horror players.
Developed by a solo developer, Pneumata is a first-person survival horror game inspired by the Resident Evil series. This game is well put together, the graphics and atmosphere are quite good, and it looks fantastic in VR. This game jump-scared me five times in three hours, no other game has scared me that much! 😂
negative things, the melee combat mechanics need improvement, and there are minor bugs, such as doors that appear open but still creak. Sometimes, I can’t open the inventory. Overall, I would rate it 7.5 out of 10.

This is such an underrated game, really goes to another level in VR
Only 1 word for this game. Wow!
So, I've been wondering for a while now, does VR horror just get easier as you do it? Like, can you get used to it, or will it always be scary? Like any tips on facing it and separating reality from fiction? I don't know if this is a dumb question, just something that has been on my mind. Thanks y'all! Kind of urgent, so I appreciate y'all that respond. Does VR Horror get more enjoyable and less scary as time passes from playing it? Don't get me wrong, I love horror games, I just barely can handle VR Horror even though I love it, which disappoints me. Thanks for the help though!
