Anyone got a good example patch that does rocketing? I can’t seem to figure out a good way to make this happen. The difficulty is sending both the pitch and gates to multiple destinations.in synThere doesn’t seem too o be a module that does this easily. The mucislicer gets close but not enough to be perfect.Sequential switches are not ideal for this as difficult to control.
What are your favorite effect modules in VCV Rack?
Please recommend me delay, chorus, phaser, reverb etc.
using drum synths to create samples to be used in other projects
Kden live video editor is free and will open the AVI files that Rec creates. No more converting in handbrake before editing.
..am I the only one who finds Rack's need for abruptly quitting after completing an update (requiring manual restart) a little bit irritating?
Every time I open vcv rack, my computer asks me if I want to run it/make changes to my computer with the whole windows "unknown files may cause damage" screen. Then I press yes and It shows me the setup screen for vcv rack where it has the install option and where the files should go. I press yes and it installs. My computer is showing that this is taking up more memory each time I install it and I just want to find a way out of this. Pls help me I have no clue what to do.
I have a MIDI controller keyboard and I could add a foot pedal which just plugs in the back. Would I be able to map the pedal to a control in VCV Rack? Does it depend on the make/model?
Just to report that as of Sequoia 15.0.1, Logic Pro 11.0.1, & VCV Rack Pro 2.5.2, these two make a great team.
I wonder if you can run VCV Rack Pro inside as well?
Does anyone use either branch of VCV on a Raspberry Pi, specifically the latest model 5? I’m thinking of using it as a multi in multi out effect processor and would appreciate any opinions on performance, stability and ease of setup. Thanks!
We have released a set of free modules. These are an official port of many of the Synthesizers.com modules.

You can find them in the VCV library.
Hello first time posting. I’m a total VCV rack beginner since I haven’t even made a patch yet. But I’m loving the whole modular synth community and I want to start with some simple analog modular synths.
I’m planning to buy the behringer k2 in the near future(if possible) but I wanted to try it out first virtually to see if I like it. My main goal is to buy that and a reverb module like big sky and do ambient music with both.
Can I recreate it inside VCV rack?
And if I need more modules in the future I guess I could just add them virtually with vcv rack and have a analog/vst mixed system right?
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if its possible to use the VST host module inside of the VST version of VCVrack. Thanks!
Hey all! Just been experimenting with this as I'm trying to find a way to move away from Reason plugin (owing to a nasty automation bug) and realised VCV might scratch some of the same itches. However, when I try to sequence with it I get a lot of stuck or missing notes. Is there anything I'm supposed to do to the gate and CV signals before they hit the CV-MIDI module? Thank you!
Is there a way to create a curated list of modules that you can share with people for them to install?
The context is that I'm delivering a workshop in a school soon and want to make sure everyone has the same set of modules.
I know that you are prompted to install missing modules if you open a patch with modules that you don't have installed. The web page you are directed to is useful in that it puts all of the missing modules on one page to install. However, I'm working with a school and getting files onto a computer is difficult (firewalls, heavy security settings etc trust me I've tried to navigate their restrictions!), so I couldn't ask them to download the patch from a usb or website.
I could give everyone the patch file ahead of time but I want using the VCV Rack website to install modules to be part of the learning experience as I think it's important they know that it exists and how it works.
So, is there a way to create a curated list of modules that I can share?
Thanks
Pretty new to modular synthesis and I’m having a ton of fun. I feel like though most of the content I see on the internet is focused on ambient and techno. Quite honestly they’re not my favorite but def still fun to play w in vcv, but I’m really curious to see what else is out there. I mostly listen to more bass music like future bass, dubstep, dnb, and a bunch of others. One of the sounds I’m particularly interested in is color bass which is a relatively small genre that I feel like is mostly being pioneered Chime and a few others. (Some examples, Intermolecular Lullaby by Chime, Parousia by Ace Aura, STFU (Chime Bootleg), and The Other Side by Au5 and Chime. I think the sound is just so cool and would love to see what would go into making something like that on a rack. I’m suspecting it wouldn’t be exactly easy bc they sound quite a bit complex, esp for a beginner.
Does anyone know of any good content on the internet that shows how some of these sounds are made, not just color bass but rly any bass genre? Or maybe some things in the library to check out? Also I’m totally open to basically any other genre, these were just some specific sounds I like. I really wanna see what else is out there and don’t entirely know where to look. Thanks!
So far I can’t find it in the library.
Hello all,
Could you give me your advice on performing live with VCV? I have 5 patches, due to system restrictions, I cannot include them all in one massive patch.
My question: What is a seamless way to close one patch and open the other without cutting the music off completely? What would you recommend I do? I'd like this to be one long, 75/90-minute ambient drone set.
If I can achieve this, I do not need to carry my Soundcraft MTK12; otherwise, I will have to lug it because I can hook up my 0-Coast to it to run a drone while I close one and open the other patch. I would want to avoid this at all costs :)
System: MacBook Air, M1, 16 GB, Sonoma 14.6.1
Midi Contoller: Novation Launch Control XL
Thank you for your time :)
Cheers!!
