Any must go to breweries and beer bars near Charlottesville?
Hoping you all could help me. I am planning on doing a overnight stay to brewery hop in Leesburg area. I know there are a handful of breweries in downtown Leesburg and several outside of town in the surrounding area. Ideally I would like to check out some breweries outside of town during the day, stay in Leesburg (or another town if there is a better option) so we can easily walk/Uber to a couple more in the evening.
Can anyone advise me as to:
Thanks for the help!

I'm going for a day hike this weekend near Harrisonburg and want to grab a beer and a meal afterwards. Can someone suggest any dog friendly breweries or brewpubs around there or points north (I will be headed back to DC but I want to eat and drink while I am still in the Shenandoah Valley)?
With National Beer Day coming to a close, I wanted to look back on a nice weekend of beer. Tbh I didn't even drink one today, but I got some good ones in yesterday. Had been saving up several for a good friend's birthday, and we cracked a couple.
Aslin's Cocoa Mostra and Mango/Passionfruit Berliner Weiss Captain Lawrence Brewing's Smoothie Dreams (NY brewery) Three Notch'd's Passionfruit Gose
Recommend them all!
What did you guys/gals drink this weekend?
Smartmouth released a Lucky Charms themes marshmallow IPA today. I stopped by around 6pm and it was long sold out. I was curious if anyone tried it and what they thought.
Looking to get into trading beer - I live in Los Angeles, CA currently but I'm from Richmond and love The Veil, Ardent, Hardywood, etc. and can obtain beers available in the LA and Orange County areas. Let me know if you're interested!

Saturday, December 8th, 2018 from 12pm-10pm, enjoy BEER, LIVE MUSIC ALL DAY BY Jay Elliott AND Dave Lange, MERCH GIVEAWAYS, Cornerstones TOY DRIVE, and HOT FOOD!
Mustang Sally Brewing, in conjunction with the following breweries, will be tapping IPAs from:
I live in Austin, Texas and am willing to trade a local Austin beer for a Virginia beer I want from Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery. The specific beer is called Heir Apparent and is located here (you can buy it online but they ship to Virginia only): https://www.lickingholecreek.com/buy-online/1-pint-94oz-heir-apparent-mexican-spiced-imperial-stout.
We could trade a 4 pack, or I could pay you the cost of the beer plus shipping fees.
Aslin makes great beer. With their limited distro, I've only had a handful of their beers, but all have been fantastic and I look forward to trying more.
That said, is it just me, or does anyone else sense a troubling competitiveness surrounding their can sales and releases? I've noticed an increase in opportunistic folks lining up daily to buy cans for trade and sale online.
Maybe things will be different once they open a taproom for on-site sales, but right now, getting beer from Aslin just seems so cold, transactional, and devoid of any whimsy.
I'm heading down from MI to Huntington, WV in December for Candlenights, and was wondering what the best places to go would be. Breweries, stores, etc. What to look for, what other places distro to WV that I should look for as well.
I realize that DB was purchased a couple of years about by A-B, but they still put out some great seasonals and small batches here, and the locals are great. These are the ONLY two factors that keep us coming back to perform here. They've recently expanded the tap room, and added a kitchen with great food as well. Come join us this Saturday, November 10th from 6:30-9:30pm. www.facebook.com/forryarnettduo
Coming down to Richmond for the week looking for good beer of any sort. I might have my hands full with Hardywood, The Veil and The Answer brewery visits, but can I please get some recommendations for brewpubs or other restaurants with good local beer available?
Thanks!
Caboose opened their new taproom which looks amazing. I think they're planning a grand opening but they are open for business.
At BSide, The Veil is taking over 12 taps through Sunday.
What is everyones favorite fall beers to try in VA? Picked up some Alewerks Pumpkin Ale before it's all sold out in Hampton Roads and wanted to get recommendations for others to try.
Hi all, I have a overnight business trip next month to Harrisonburg on a Wednesday. I did a quick search and seen there are several breweries in the area so I need some recommendations on the must visits. Thanks!
Hi All! Looks like there haven't been any threads for suggestions for I-81 breweries since ~2016. I'll be traveling between DC and Blacksburg a few times over the next few months. What are your suggestions for Breweries I must hit up along the route. Not looking to travel to far off the highway. The only one I definitely know I'll be stopping at is Big Lick in Roanoke. What else do ya all got? Thanks!
Had quite a few VA breweries I hadn't heard of. Tasted some decent stuff there.
