Welcome to Utah Riders Motorcycle Subreddit!

Hi everyone. I'm a 40+ year old lady who learned to ride a bicycle over the summer (city kid) and would like to learn to ride a motorcycle. Where should I start? I'm in the slc area and have heard good things about slcc safety course but is that the best place to begin?
Hey guys just making this post to see if I can get people to ride with. I’ve been on my 24’ cfmoto 450ss/sr for about 2 weeks now and i barely know anyone around the utah area. I’m located in salt lake county.
I've been wanting to buy older motorcycles and flip them/part them out as a business idea for a while now. I'm getting ready to make the jump on my first project and I decided to get on here for some guidance. what would be good bikes to resell? any bikes I should avoid? right now i'm trying to find bikes under 2k that are newer than 2000 that I might be able to fix and hopefully sell for a profit. as of right now I've found a buell sb9x that seemed promising and pretty rough cbr250r that has potential
maybe this isn't the right sub reddit but i figured id throw it out there.
I just started riding and I need some help I am a very frustrating person though I have my own motorcycle and I’ve been riding for a while but I still need someone’s help for guidance and stuff like that
Do any of my fellow Utah riders have a good contact for a classic airbrush artist? I'm talking like dragons, wizards, and hot babes in chainmail. I've got a bike project ready to go.
Returning to Reddit after a hiatus.
Thought I'd sub and say hi. These days I own Harleys, but I'm a non-denominational rider. Typically I do short trips around town and try to get out on Sundays for longer runs through the area. But I'm open to meeting up with any others in the area to find new roads.
Hey guys looking to get the ninja 500 or 400 soon just gotta save up that sweet sweet dough. I wanted to find some motorcycle friends because I don't have moto buddies. Hope to connect!
Hi! I'm a current BYU student and have had my KTM duke 200 for about a year now. I'm looking for some freinds to ride with. I obviously can't keep up with the 600+ gang on my little duke but would love to go on some fun rides with people.
Im from Alaska and currently getting my license to ride! Im looking to move next year to Salt Lake City. What's the motorcycle scene down there? My main concern is the winter as Im not sure if the winters have snow on the roads in city? Being from Alaska the only times to ride are from March to September ;(
New to motorcycles and would love to meet folks in the community and see the best places to ride in the salt lake area.
Hey all, I've never posted on Reddit before, so I hope this gets views. My uncle Kevin Inglet was a freshly starting motorcycle enthusiast who adored the outdoors and rides up big cottonwood canyon. He recently passed away unexpectedly, and I wanted to honor him by setting up a memorial motorcycle ride. He didn't know many bikers, but he always dreamed of being a part of something bigger that involved loving people and what he loved to do. Is there anyone willing to help me put something like this together? It would mean the world to his daughter and grandkids
My days off are Wednesday & Thursday. I normally work 6:00AM- 2:00PM.
I ride a 2007 Honda VTX 1300c.
I am open to ride with anyone, as long as they are LGBTQ friendly.
BTW this is my first post
Hi, New rider here. I'm 40 yrs old and just picked up my first bike 2013 kawasaki versys 650. I'm curious on what insurance companies have good rates and coverage? Also, what rates most are paying for full coverage?
My car broke down and I decided to get a bike for my commute to work for the time being. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the temporary operating permit. The DLD website only seems to set up an appointment for the skills test, rather than the permit written test. Am I missing something? Do I not need an appointment? Do I do it at the DMV instead of the DLD? The Utah website is a nightmare and I need to get this figured out soon as I don't have a car to get to work😅. The appointments for the skills test art booked out a week and a half, and I hope it isn't that bad for the written permit test.
I have been looking for the last week for a bike I can use to take my skills test. Don’t have the money for a bike at the moment but have already taken my written test and have my learners. Seeing if someone would let me take their bike for an hour or two to take the shills test.
Yes, I know these are different bikes but I’m a newbie and SHORT so if I’m not brave enough to lower the CRF (or magically find an LS) I’ll go with the XR. Anyway, any recommendations or definite “stay away from” dealerships in the SLC area? Bonus points for dealers who tread their employees and customers well. Thanks!
Hey I'm a videographer, and i'm looking to practice some of my drone follow caming. If anyone wants to collab, has a cool bike, might even be willing to take it onto the salt flats, then hit me up. You'll get some sick free videos and photo from me on your bike :)
Not super particular about what bike it is, but I love more retro styled bikes.
I’m from Utah. Have a drivers license in Utah & all that. BUT I’m in the army & stationed in Hawaii. I took the BRC in Hawaii & am now trying to get it on my license so i can ride completely legal.
Is there a way i can do it online or something? Or am i cooked & have to wait till i next time i go home?
Looking to rent gear but most shops aren’t renting gear. Does anyone have any recommendation where I could rent a helmet and jacket?
Hi Folks! I recently moved to South Jordan, Utah with my girl after graduating from university and I'm looking for a community to go on rides with and grab some food. I've been riding for a year and a half on a Vitpilen 401 throughout the Santa Cruz mountains in California. Let me know if anyone is in the area and wants to meet up.
I took the motorcycle safety foundation basic riders course in October 2022. I went into the DMV at Heber today to finally get my endorsement after putting it off for so long, but they said that I need to redo my skills test as the card the motorcycle safety foundation gave me had expired. If anyone nearby have a 650+ bike I could take the test on, I would be greatly appreciative.
If I fail it once are they going to send me away and make me schedule another appointment?
Just moved to Utah in December, haven't nailed down a house yet, currently staying in Kamas, looking for houses in Ogden. I have been seeing all the riders out lately and got the itch really bad so I had the bike shipped, should be here later this week and I'm really looking forward to getting out and tackling some canyons
Does anyone know what I need to bring with me? also do go in and check in or just head to the lot at my appointment time?
Hello all, I've been calling around to a few dealerships in the Salt Lake City area trying to get an OTD price for a dirt bike and most won't give me one. Does anyone know what dealership has the cheapest OTD pricing? I'm willing to drive to Provo or Ogden as well.
