FR107

Has anyone been up FR 107 off the Mirror Lake Highway? If so, is 4WD required?

Druid Arch and Chesler Park

Hey y'all, I'm planning on heading down to Canyonlands in a few weeks to do a loop of druid arch and chesler park. I am seeing info on packing in water, but I'm not finding much of anything on potential water source information in that area. Does anyone know if I will be able to refill somewhere? Or do I need to bring enough water for the whole thing?

Dispersed camping near Capitol Reef

I take my oldest two sons camping once a year, just us, while my wife graciously stays home with my youngest special needs son(we do take him camping all the other times). We love finding an awesome and dispersed camping spot. We camp with 24ft trailer. Any recommendations? We will be going mid October.

Looking for a spot to camp in the Wasatch mtns?

Planning a small overnighter camping trip in the wasatch mountains with some friends, scheduled for a couple weeks so I’d like to choose a spot where it won’t be too cold in early October. 30-60 min drive from Highland UT would be optimal. What are some good remote locations? We can backpack in if necessary.

Hoping to catch Pando at its peak- this weekend, or next?

Wondering if anyone has been to pando recently and can speak on this. We can either go this weekend, or next. Don't want to wait until next weekend if the leaves are already peaking now. Thanks!

Most southern Aspens?

Hey guys, I’m looking to camp with my siblings in a few weeks that we just found out will be during a cold spell. I would love to potentially camp further south where we could still see the incredible aspen october colors. Anyone have suggestions for a warmer* campsite around Oct 10? Appreciate it- we won’t leave any litter and won’t post anything. Doesn’t have to be an official campsite. Thank you!

Visiting Utah to hike

My girlfriend, her 24 year old daughter, her 4 year old grandson and I are coming to Utah to go hiking the middle of next month. We're not sure where in Utah we will end up but can you guys suggest some easy trails that are amazing?

Which weekend to see Pando peak colors?

I would love to see the bright yellow aspen foliage at Pando, but only have two weekends available to do so and I’m not sure which would be the best time for fall colors. I’m available the weekend of September 21, and the weekend of October 5. Which of those weekends is most likely to have the best fall foliage?

Service On Top Of Mount Olympus For Engagement

My brother is proposing on top of Mount Olympus. I am going to go ahead of them and be at the top ready to film when he does it. He really wants to livestream this for her family.

Does anyone know if there is any service up at the summit?

Thanks so much!

Kings peak/red castle hike in mid September?

I’m experienced with both of these hikes but have not gone later than labor day. I have an opportunity to go with some friends, and are thinking mid to late September to do either of the hikes. Too late in the year? Snowy? I know it’s unpredictable and have been caught up in hail storms/high winds, but want to avoid being snowed out if possible

When did they close the kennecott overlook up Butterfield canyon?

You used to be able to drive to the top of Butterfield Canyon and there was a overlook where you could view the kennecott copper mine. Now there is a big sign at the top saying it is private property and you will be fined if you trespass. It's been 10 years or so since I've been up there so I wasn't sure if this happened some what recently or not.

Oct or Mar in Southern Utah?

Hi - Im hoping to visit southern Utah to do some hiking/backpacking (coyote, neon etc) in the near future. I have availability in either early October or throughout March. Would there be any significant benefit to either of these? Thanks!

Morning Hikes around SL County

Hello!

I don't work Mon-Thurs and enjoy going on hikes a couple times a week. Are there any weekday-morning groups with planned hikes in the area?

Thanks!

Hiking near Salt Lake City/Park City

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are traveling out to Park City for a skip trip end of December/early January. We have a day or two where we aren't planning on skiing and we love visiting National and State Parks. Does anybody have any recommendations for parks we could visit for a day trip? Unfortunately I've looked at the distances for the National parks near us and it's a little too far for a day trip. We're looking for anything less than 3 hours away. Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Route Suggestion from Horseshoe Bend in Page, AZ to Capitol Reef?

We are planning on kayaking at Horseshoe Bend near Page, AZ. Ultimately we want to end up in Capitol Reef (Torrey, UT) the next day. We Have two options.

Option 1:

*After kayaking, drive to Kanab, UT and camp outside of town.

*Next day take Hwy 12 up to Torrey and Capitol Reef.

Option 2:

*After kayaking, drive to Monument valley and stay on the north side near the visitor center.

*Next day spend a little time touring then take UT 95/Ut 24 up to Torrey and Capitol Reef.

Any thoughts or suggestions for deciding between the two?

Lost Creek Reservoir - anyone been within the past month?

Some friends and I would like to visit Lost Creek Reservoir this coming weekend, but I'm reading conflicting reports about construction and some roads being closed to cars. I've reached out to the Lost Creek staff on their Facebook page but have yet to hear back.

Has anyone been recently and can confirm what the experience was like, if you encountered any closed roads, etc.? We're hoping to park in the area in the attached screenshot (the parking lot with vault toilets near the southeast end of the reservoir).

Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

Long Shot - Snow Canyon

Hey there - I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have a reservation at Snow Canyon around 10/12 for 5 nights that they're not going to use?

If so I'd love to chat, we'll take it off your hands and even pay a markup.

Stopping point between Page, AZ and Salt Lake City

Hey all, thanks in advance for any responses. I’m in Zion now and going to Bryce Canyon tomorrow, then driving to Page,AZ tomorrow night. We’re spending 2 nights in Page and then driving up to SLC Thursday. Is there a good place to stop for a night for good views and easy hiking along the way? My wife will only stay in a hotel :(. Thanks again!

Best places to visit in Utah

Hi all! I’m visiting Utah over Labor Day weekend and staying in the American Fork area. I’ve never been there, or to Utah in general. However, I have some friends who have moved there and love it. I’m considering moving there myself. What’s your favorite place to go to? What do you love about it? I want to see the most sites and do the most things!! And I love a gorgeous view. I only have 4 days. Where should I go!!

Stroller friendly trails?

I am not a fan of hiking or exercise in general lol. We are going to Europe next year and we want to get used to the many miles we will be walking. We have a 8 week old baby so I will need to bring the stroller with us. What are some good places trails that I can take a stroller on? EDIT: We are in Salt Lake County, if that helps at all 😁
