The toddler classes sell out within seconds of opening. How are ppl booking this fast?
Hey yallll! I see posts about restaurant/bars/takeout recs all the time but I wanted to get a thread going for suggestions on WHAT your fav things to order are and where. I tend to stick to the same things so I’d love to branch out and hear other suggestions. So I’ll go first, in no particular order, these are dishes I would/do order again:
Would love to hear everyone else’s faves so I can branch out a bit and help others moving to the neighborhood. Thanks!!!
New to the Upper East Side and looking to connect with local professionals. 40-year-old married guy seeking casual friends for trivia nights, sports watching, and pool. Interested in building a neighborhood social circle with like-minded people who enjoy low-key hangouts. Want to grab a drink and see if we click? Let's meet up.
hi everyone! i was wondering if anyone here who is a tutor/has tutored before knows a great way to get clients on the UES/UWS. i worked in finance and am now an incoming mathematics grad student and i have been tutoring on the side on/off for a few years now. i'm wondering if there's a good way to find students in the area without using an agency.
i mainly specialize in test prep i.e. ACT/SAT and AP Calculus, and i also tutor and teach many different levels of mathematics. i figured since students may need assistance as exams start coming up, now would be a good time to try to find clients or advertise services. if you have any tips, let me know!
Looking for a 2 bed, 1.5 (or more) bath for no more than 8k. Must have doorman and washer dryer in unit. Does this even exist anymore up here?
Anyone have any spots they like for onion rings? I know stumble inn has good ones, looking for a few other options for Super Bowl snack.
Does anyone know if there’s somewhere on the UES to donate gently used dog toys, clothes, carriers, etc.? Maybe an animal shelter or organization?
Has anyone else encountered a man on the street yelling in a sing-songey way “get off your iPhone get off your iPhone” ?
My friend and I have both had separate interactions with him in the neighborhood. He is an older man with white hair and glasses. Doesn’t really seem threatening, but wondering if he is doing this to others. When I saw him today he was going down 86th yelling at everyone on their phones.
need some greens in my life, where can i find a good ass salad ?
Anyone know store close to 89th and York that takes packaging/shopping plastic bags to recycle? I’ve got a hoard of them and trying not to throw away
What internet provider does everyone use? We currently have spectrum and it is pretty unreliable.

There was an article run recently in the WSJ (paywall http://www.wsj.com/articles/WP-WSJ-0002308054?st=vaes3C&reflink=article_copyURL_share ). My wife commented that the UES had no representation. It put me in mind when I was a child living in Yorkville (I still do) and we were a bakery destination. The link below is a good trip down memory lane. I regularly went to Rigo with my mom or dad. The women would tie the boxes with red and white sting they would pull down from oval shaped brass containers above their head. As the author mentions, I too remember watching Mr. Greenberg decorating cakes when my dad would take me into Greenberg’s for their for linzer tarts, schneckens and babka. That was when it was in its old location on Third between 78th and 77th.

I plan to at some point own property in the UES.
What and where should I look?
I'm thinking condo? Smth spacious but not huge, for one or two people. It won't be a main residence but more like smth to have if I need it. It's already obvious that I'm clueless as I'm a beginner in property owning in general, so I appreciate any kindness and frankness.
I'd like to get right into it. Thanks!
Looking for a CPA for the 2024 tax season. Anyone have any good licensed CPAs (with pricing)?
Does anyone have any halal carts they recommend? We just moved here and haven’t been able to explore too much, but feel like I haven’t seen many when walking near our apt (80-90 and 2nd). Are they not as prevalent in UES? Thanks!
UPDATE: for those asking me to report back, I just finished a combo plate from the cart on 83rd and 2nd - it was good! Nothing to write home about, but def finished the plate happy ◡̈ The falafel was great (not soggy like some people mentioned), and honestly I could’ve gone harder on the spice level! Thank you all for the updates, and while I just needed somewhere close and quick tonight, I can’t wait to try the other suggestions!
I used to be athletic and hit the gym regularly (lifting weights 5x a week). I got really sick a few years ago and lost a ton of weight from the treatment. I couldn’t work out for almost 3 years but I’ve finally been cleared to exercise again.
I want to build muscle so i’m particularly looking for a gym that has a big enough weight room where I can be invisible lol. I know that’s almost impossible in NYC. I checked out Crunch and it was PACKED at like 7 am. I don’t want to go to Equinox. Overpriced and not worth the money imo.
I live in the upper 80s. Any recs?
There is a man who routinely walks his Rottweiler through Carl Schurz & the UES. Tall, middle aged, African-American, often with a cigar. He screamed at me this past summer for “getting in his way” while in the park. Assumed he was a crazy person and moved on w/ my life. I see him pretty regularly and just avoid him.
Today I happened to see him yelling at someone on 81st. Anyone have any experience with him? Dangerous or just nasty?
Thanks for any replies.
Need something to put my sausage and peppers on - pls don’t say Milanos.
I found the vibe is very different beyond 78th.
I used to go beyond 80th bc of Whole Foods, now they have Whole Foods opened ~ 70th, and I found there is no reason to go up.
The title might be little misleading, I am not seeking to change opinions.
We are a dad, pregnant Mom, and an energetic 3y/o boy who like to do "family date night" every Saturday night. Compiling a list of the best UES restaurants good for this group. Menu with things that 3y/o's tend to like and can withstand a little noise. Help us out UES gang!
My bestie and I got sushi the other night. They had a fire playlist going does anyone know the playlist / where they got it?!
Go-to’s have always been Midnight Express or Gracie Mews but open to branching out. We’re talkin tendies, grilled cheese, fries, pancakes, milkshakes. UES gang go get em!
Hi I’m Kay! I have 5 years experience with walking dogs/ house sitting/ and taking care of plenty of different animals (cats, fish, rodents and reptiles). If you need any help feel free to contact me!
We can discuss rate depending on the service provided!
Was gonna order some dinner and saw that two wheels is marked as permanently closed 🥲🥲
Found this article with some info: https://eastsidefeed.com/real-estate/developer-files-plans-to-demolish-three-small-buildings-on-second-avenue/
Anyone know if they’re planning on opening a new location on the ues?
Looking to potentially live in the UES and curious on what region of the UES is most coffee shop dense. I would like to exit my building and have as many coffee shops as possible within a 15m walk in any direction. Bonus points for restaurants too
I recently had a water leak and am in need of some sheetrock (skim coating) and painting. Looking for someone good and reasonable to do a small section of ceiling and wall. Thanks!
