It's Saturday evening and you find yourself at a private beer tasting at your friend's house. Including yourself it's an awesome circle of four beer nerds and you can be damn sure that everybody has brought a bunch of insane beers that you guys are about to try. Your friend, who even has got a nice beer flight set, has prepared everything.
As a good host he is opening the first round with an absolutely perfectly tempered beer. He is proudly showing you a can of the Barrel Aged Nitro Shattered Dream 2022 and before he has even filled all four glasses, you and the other two guys have already found that beer on Untappd. You friend is giving you the glasses and after clinking the glasses with one another you are enjoying this beautifull beer. "That's a solid 4.5" is what you think. You are quickly taking a photo and you are ready to check-in...

Is it possible to put the Untappd logo on your own beer label? So that people who drink it won't forget to check it in on Untappd. Does anyone have any information on that?

So basically everyone other restaurant style has a badge or is part of badge, but seafood restaurants.

Is there a particular reason this has been overlooked or ignored ? It peaked my curiosity lately while looking for new restaurants to try on a non beer level.

After I saw another post about this badge I was wondering how you got this badge. For example with wich countries and if it was plannen or coincidence?

Mine was Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, Italy, Germany. Pure coincidence.

After my 1295th unique beer, from 355 different breweries, from 47 different countries. I finally hit one of the badges that’s been avoiding me for quite some time., it was just a matter of time of finally lining them up properly. Decided it was time to go to my local beer shop and grab 5 beers from 5 different countries and make sure to add them continuously. Cheers to beers 🍺

When a brewery labels their beer with 0 IBU, is it because its actually 0, or is it because they don’t have the equipment to measure it?

Does anyone keep up with the guys who used to do the Untappd Podcast? I think it was Tim and Kyle on the first couple seasons, and then John and Harrison took over after that. Then the shows stopped updating.

Do they all still work at Untappd? Do they do any other podcasts? Some of the episodes went off the rails a bit, but I genuinely enjoyed some of them. Anyone have any info?

For JD Wetherspoon beers brewed as a guest collab in the UK (such as at JDW beer festivals), JDW is listed as the main brewer, but they are merely a pub chain.

When an overseas brewery collabs with a UK brewery to brew its own beer, the lead brewer should be the overseas one, with the UK host brewery being the collaborator, and if Untappd really wants JDW listed as a collaborating brewery, make them the third one.

Cuckoo brewer beers are listed under the country the brewer hails from as I understand it - the same should be the case with JD Wetherspoon beers.

I'm having some confusion about the difference between "Applewine" and "Apfelwein" in Germany. Since the words are direct translations, it's confusing to figure out when something is a true "applewine", so I am hoping for some clarification.

Most ciders around Frankfurt, for example, are "Apfelwein" and are served in the pubs. Usually they are between 4-6% ABV and quite dry. They are marked as "cider - traditional / apfelwein" such as this one.

But there are also ciders that are around 8-11% and come in fancy bottles, not the pubs. These are the confusing ones. They are also called "apfelwein" since the word is the same in German, but I believe they should be marked as "cider - applewine". However, many are incorrectly marked due to the name like this one.

I want to confirm that these heavier ciders are in fact "Applewine" before I start submitting many edit requests or buy a bottle for the style. Thanks!

Does anyone know if there's a way to find top rated breweries by state in Untappd? I'm planning a trip and want to use Untappd data instead of things like "Trip Advisor" to find destinations to consider.

I do have the paid Untappd account that offers analysis of my own data, but I'm not seeing community data like this.

Or are they just waiting for it to die so they can remove it all together?

Sorry, I know it's nit-picky, but every time I see it, it looks dated, and I'm reminded of how much the people who make the app stopped caring.

Hey everyone, I'd describe myself as a casual craft beer enthusiast who enjoys checking out local breweries and being the person in the group who can make a good recommendation from a menu, especially when going out with friends or family that aren't as knowledgeable about different beer styles.

Before rating it myself, I personally find it most interesting trying to guess what the average score will be for a beer when trying it for the first time. That said, I do tend to lose interest in the app after a while, probably because I'm too lazy to make it a social media like experience for myself. What keeps you all coming back to Untappd?
