Unnecessary Censorship refers to the practice of adding censor bleeps, mosaic blurs or [black bars to source materials that were neither profane or explicit to begin with. The bleeps are typically dubbed over words to make it sound as if they were explicit. I guess they don't have to burn books if everything is digital and you can just remove them. Removing content from the internet at scale is far more quite and less likely to gain appropriate criticism. It also puts this power into the hands of fewer people further centralizing control of information.
It's a small ban, sure. Elon still should be held accountable nonetheless. If you say you want freedom of speech....censoring anything directly contradicts your assertion. Which would make you a $300 billion dollars hypocrite. Who knows, as long as he handles these big wig kooks as well..
Hi guys, I’m banned from so many Reddit communities for no reason whatsoever other than possibly making people uncomfortable. This is definitely becoming more of an issue, I’m seeing that when I have an unpopular opinion it’s taken as if it’s against the rules but I read the rules and I’m never violating any rules, just being too abrasive for the mods. The lack of freedom of speech and censorship is so out of hand…. Anyone else?
Who do y'all think aproached Youtube to force the censorship of covid discussions on yt during the pandemic?
I’m so tired of getting banned on everything just for being different. I should be able to say whatever tf I want to whoever tf I want whenever tf I want.
And why don't we replace words that sound to be profane with other sounds? Should we stop using ever a bleep sound for replacing profanity and strong language if multiple bleeps may be very annoying?
