This is my first year at university. At first it was great, nobody cares me so I can do everything I want such as no study all the day or not going classes. The thing is that exams are coming. I did my firsts exams and not go well. The last week before the exams stars I was home study like a crazy person. Normally, I study really late, the procrastination but it works. With this method about give up all the study couple days before exams I was good.
Now, that I entered the university. Have no books about the information that I need study and only have exams of another years. At first, I thought that doing the exams of another years can be enough but it isn’t. The exam was more complicated and I have a lot of concepts without knowing. In every subject we have a bibliography, I need to use that?
I really need tips for studying. My proud is hurt because during all my life I was like the exemplar student but now I’m surviving with low degrees. I’m studying an engineering, actually, computer engineering.
I’m a freshman at the University of Economics HCMC (UEH), a prestigious university in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. During my studies in the Arttech program, which is not widely popular in Vietnam, my parents, who owned a small restaurant, provided financial support to enable me to pursue my education.
Despite my family’s lack of university education, I have always been driven to excel. However, my parents’ limited support has hindered my progress. This was evident when my parents’ restaurant received numerous negative reviews, despite my best efforts.
Recognizing the importance of education for my future, I am torn between my aspirations and my desire to contribute to my family’s success. After careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from university and pursue my parents’ business. This decision may disappoint me, but I believe it is the right choice for my family’s well-being.
What do you think?
So I’ve been looking for jobs, but a lot of the jobs can be inconvenient in person and overlap with a lot of other things, I was wondering if any of you have remote work with little requirements with somewhat flexible hours, of course there’s still work but just some flexibility too
Hello, I'm looking for some informations about Uniathena, most reviews are from the school, I can't find a single person talking about it(reddit, YouTube) it looks like a serious establishment but has anyone received their diploma or certificate ? If so how long did it take to arrive? Did you find work or continue studies with it ?
Let me explain, luckily, at my university we can bring our dogs!
Since my parents are going back soon to work after the holidays I don't want my dog to stay at home alone, so, I need a good bag/backpack so that I can bring him with me. Of course he is going to walk but he would be using the bag as his lil bed.
My needs are: a bag that is suitable for a small dog (2kgs), where I can bring his things (poop bag, water and food), and my laptop and its charger (it's a 13" model).
Is there anything like this? Thank you!
So here's the situation. I'm from eastern european country. My parents want me to go study abroad to England/ Germany/ Ireland etc. I do understand the importance of higher education. I also feel like I should get a degree since i'm an A+ student and realise I need a job where I will work with my brain and not hands. But the problem is... I have no idea what degree to choose. My family can afford almost any uni yet I don't know what to study. I have no preferences at subjects and just into everything for a bit. What do I do? Should I just pick the most perspective degree (like ingeneering ) or smth else? Thanks
Edit: gap year is not an option for me(
Hi all!
I am looking to attend an online university program. Does anyone know of any very inexpensive options? This could include European or other International Universities. Programs could be in English, Spanish, or French.
I have taken Clep exams, tried community college, worked, and tried financial aid - it’s not enough. Most of my friends attend University in Europe and Canada at a mere fraction of the US University cost, but I have to stay here to take care of family. I have done a lot of research, but I am certain I am missing some options - maybe someone here has what I have been looking for.
Thank you.
do i pick my university major based on my passion or money? i know that it’s always best to try and find a middle ground, but even my middle ground, seems to be a major that is incredibly popular at the moment (korean studies).
my passion is going for a film directing major. and money.. not one in particular, but i’m assuming a major that doesn’t fall into the arts. i’m worried about my labor situations after graduation.
i want to ground myself in a major that requires work that will pay off best when it comes to working afterwards while also it being something i thoroughly enjoy.
i don’t want to spend 4 years of my life doing something i don’t really enjoy just for worries of employment after the fact.
but like i said again, i worry that diving into creatives for my major will lack and be much harder to find work.
I’m a student at the American University Of Ras Alkhemah I would like recommendations for past exam sites that will help me prepare for my exams
If you don't feel like reading just answer the question.
I am currently taking a gap year and I have no idea what path I should take. I started pharmacy this year but felt overwhelmed, overworked, unwell and so on, so I decided to take a year off from school and focus on making money and "resting" (not really since i'm working full-time). Now when the application time is approaching I have no idea what to do.
My first choice is veterinary medicine, then dentistry, medicine, maybe pharmacy again and biomedical engineering. I'm thinking that I will apply to and go where I'm accepted to but truthfully that has never worked out for me.
In my country you also go through the application process before highschool so with that mindset(I'll go where I'm accepted to) I applied to 4 hs. Got accepted into all of em. My choice was very random, i regretted it at some times but overall i wouldnt have chosen differently if i could go back. Earlier this year I applied to 3 unis and again I got accepted into all of them - here I think it was because I aimed for schools within my reach + one "dream school".
Anywayy I feel like this won't happen this time around because of the year long break. I'm also working full time so I don't have enough time to dedicate to studying but maybe I'll quit to focus on that but idk ... In any case, if I get accepted into all of them, how do I choose??
I also don't know if I'm applying to these programs because I'm interested in them or because I want the recognition/ I want people to think that the gap year was for a good reason.
Just a side note (for those who will recommend i talk to a therapist); I AM going to therapy but honestly the therapist sucks and I cant find it within myself to be completely transparent with her. I also have sessions with her like once a month/two months sooo I think that also might not be the best but it is what it is. During the first session she recommended weekly sessions and booked my next appointment in well over a month. I do feel like the weekly sessions would be ideal but she's overbooked and now that i'm working i cant just take a day off to see her even if it is only once a month. If you have any recommendations regarding that pls do tell.
I work at a tech company that makes apps for high school and university students around the world. We regularly speak to students who use our app to learn about how they study, prepare for exams and use our app. While the feedback is great, we'd love to talk to students who don't use our app and find out how they study and what challenges they have. These interviews are always paid too.
I've been trying to find some places to post this directly on school sites or discussion boards but not sure where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions? We're looking for students in the US, Canada, UK, Netherlands and Germany mostly for now.
Got a foundation biology exam on the 15th of jan. I know i’m going to fail it because i’ve been struggling with the course and i am not a smart person. The issue is i’ve already put a deposit down for my housing next year, and the contract states if you pull out you will still be charged the years 10 grand rent. If i fail this exam i will have to resit, if i fail that im out of university.
Not only do i feel like a complete failure, ive been reduced to a financial burden on my already struggling family. I’m so fucked and im beyond miserable. No matter how much i try i always feel like a let down.
Hi everyone!
My name is Kateryna, I am a senior student at Ukrainian Catholic University. Currently I am working on my dissertation about early detection of women’s health conditions, like endometriosis and fibroids.
Despite their significant impact on women's health and many reported signs that could help identify these conditions early, tools for early detection are still underdeveloped!
In my dissertation research I aim to shed light on this issue and potentially help other women by improving early detection and raising awareness. I would really appreciate your help!!
If you experience menstruation and/or have been diagnosed with endometriosis or fibroids, I invite you to participate!

It should take around 10 minutes!
Thank you very much, your input is really appreciated!
Hi, I'm interested in astrophysics but also stuff to do with robotics, like the rovers and satellites, but courses I see seem to only be these two separately. I thought I'd go with astrophysics because this is what interests me the most but jobs I see for it tend to be around banking, data management, or just research institutes and that's not really what I wanna do. Does anyone have any suggestions of uni courses that would combine these two? Thanks 🙏🙏
I've been sitting on the fence about applications for undergraduate to US unis for the longest time; I have 9A*s in gcses/o levels, 3A's in AS so far (a levels not complete yet), 1470 in SAT, been president of my school maths club for a year, a managerial position in an NGO i'm a part of, 2-time iklc gold medal winner..I feel like I qualify for acceptances into some unis but my financial situation is really bad; I would litr need 100% scholarship/financial aid, basically free tuition and even costs of accommodation preferably covered.. pls help me is there any chance of me qualifying for that in any US/Canadian/Scandinivian uni? If there are any specific ones that might offer, let me know abt them!
Hi, I’m thai and I’m looking for a full (or 70%+ scholarship). My SAT is 1450 and I used to be a student council and participated in many social activities. Right now I’m taking GED since I quit school about a month ago. Any recommendations on how I could get a scholarship? 🥹
Hello everyone, I'm trying to build a social media platform for students. It will include all universities and high schools around the world. If you are interested, please contact me. You can also check the project at profile. I'm looking for people that could help me promote it.
hey guys i'm planning to study in social sciences and i got 30 in ib and 1140 in sat. unfortunately i don't have enough money for uk or netherlands since i'm a non-eu student so do u have any reccomendation for me?
Hi! I need to write my senior thesis for graduation. I conducted qualitative research and interviewed 11 participants, and I have transcribed the data. However, I’m not sure how to conduct a qualitative analysis. Specifically, I would like to learn how to create a table or figure for thematic analysis where I can generate codes.
I am currently completing the IB Courses (not the complete diploma ) which includes an Extended Essay, 3 HL subjects, and 3 SL subjects. I also have an SAT score of 1130. I am interested in Australian universities and have heard that Australian universities do not allow direct entry for students with IB courses.
I plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology starting next year and would prefer universities in Melbourne. Are there any good options where I can gain direct entry with my SAT score and IB courses?
Has anyone faced a similar issue and successfully managed to secure direct entry into Australian universities? Any advice to get direct entry would be appreciated.
I am a freshman in college and just finished up my first semester. I am not really content with my life at the school I am at and am seriously considering transferring. Most of my problems relate to my social life but I don't know if that is a good enough reason to transfer. I really just feel isolated from my peers and don't feel as if I fit in. I've met an indefinable amount of people and feel as if I have no real friends to show for it. The people I am surrounded by seem to navigate through the world differently than I do and I simply don't know how to adapt. Overall, this situation has led me to feel like I am alone and isolated. Is this a situation where I should just wait it out, try to find my people and move on or should I transfer (what my heart is telling me). I do want to say that I have no real problems with the school academically however the social aspect is something that eats at me everyday and is one worth more than the other?
Right now, I'm a very stressed and confused undergraduate student of Microbiology. Please guide me towards the right Master's Program based on my interests. I would be super grateful if the suggestions can come from professions in the field. If you have the time and patience to read this long post and offer some advise, I will be really thankful.
There are too many Master's Program offered by different universities which all seem to intersect at some point like:
-Molecular Life Sciences -Molecular Medicine -Molecular Biosciences -Molecular Biotechnology -Molecular Biology and Evolution -Biochemistry and Molecular Biology -Molecular Cell Biology -Marine Microbiology -Microbiology -Evolution, Ecology and Systematics -Ecology, Environment and Conservation -Ecology -Ecology, Evolution and Environment
Please help me pick one of these based on my interests:
From the moment I first read about central dogma in high school, I was fascinated. Studying gene expression on a deeper level in my undergraduate, I knew this was what I wanted to do. My interest ranges from Proteomics to Epigenetics. But if I have to pick one and be specific, I want to study the molecular mechanisms of cancer and apply it to cancer biology research to develop immunotherapies for cancer, especially like CAR T cell therapy for leukemia. My interest in leukemia is very personal as I lost my mother to Acute Leukemia. But I'm also aware that things don't go as smoothly as in your head and it's not a linear or path as I'm thinking right now. Research is much more nuanced and full of complexities. Me having this roadmap doesn't mean anything and it's never as simple as I'm making it sounds, I understand.
I had studied about organelles in school before but my first exposure to "real" cell biology was in my undergraduate where the mechanisms of Apoptosis and Cell Signalling were revealed to me. I was so intrigued, still am. With Cell Biology too, I want to understand the cellular mechanisms of cancer ranging from p53 gene and apoptosis to signalling in cancer cells and tumour cell plasticity. Basically, I want to study about proto-oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes (like the p53 gene, i love that gene so much) and how we can leverage p53 gene to develop cancer therapies. And is there any relevance in industry?
(NOTE: I understand my interests may sound childish and very surface-level with no real-life practicality or feasibility. And cancer research is extremely complex and dynamic. But it is only based on the level of studying I've done in my undergraduate, which is not an advanced course. This is also majorly why I want to choose a good master's program so I have the ability to choose a good research topic for myself in PhD.)
This interest may purely be driven by emotions and my strong sense of justice but I want to contribute to the environment, give back to my Earth. But I genuinely have no idea how environment biology works on an advanced level.
I'm interested in working on Sustainable Energy and Bioremediation. But I have not studied environmental sciences in detail on an advanced level ever (not even as much as I've studied Molecular or Cell Biology). So, I'm lost on that. It's a risky field for me to dive into because I don't know the "scope" of it.
I would love to be guided on how feasible a career in environmental sciences is, and if I ever want to switch over to industry, if there is demand. I ask this because I'm not from an affluent background and I need to support myself and my parent. As much as I want to entirely devote my life to research, I also need a safety net in terms of finances.
Given my background in microbiology, I do love microbiology but I have horrible contamination OCD so I want to stay far away from infection biology or clinical microbiology. I mention this because I interned at a Virology Lab with a clinical focus and I realised, I can't survive doing wet lab research in clinical microbiology because of my anxiety.
Although, it hurts me to part ways with my lovely microbes, I find that I'm just not interested in the clinical aspect of microbiology. I'm more interested in the ACTUAL study of microbes, like studying the metabolism of extremophiles like deep-sea microbes, the human microbiome, probiotics. Is what I want to study still profitable in the industry?
Again, my interest in immunology lies only to develop immunotherapies for cancer, like Monoclonal Antibodies, Interferons, CAR T Cell therapy.
That's all I can think of right now. As you can see, I have emphasized on my interest in Cancer Biology multiple times. My interest and desire to work on cancer probably comes from an emotionally-driven thought process and I should try to work on separating my thoughts from my emotions, I understand. It may also come off childish, I'm aware.
From each point, I would HIGHLY APPRECIATE if someone working in the same field can tell me how valid my thought process is, how feasible it is, and if it has any relevance in the industry. I ask for industrial relevance because of my need to support myself and not having a financial backup. I hope you all guide me to the right step. Thank you for reading.
Hello, everyone. I am a master's student in chemistry with a GPA of 4.0. If anyone needs help with their chemistry lab reports, please feel free to message me.
For a data management class. Would appreciate it a lot if people responded. Thanks in advance.
How important are A Level grades for an Uni admission in Europe or Australia?
I got less than average grades in A level.
I’ve been on a quest, developing more interactive assignments and a question came up in a discussion with colleagues - how interactive are assignments at other online schools, especially really huge ones like SNHU. It seems like it takes a lot of heart and commitment to bring rich multimedia courses to life, so how that would scale is not clear. Any experiences you’d like to share as a learner or instructor?
I’m a stranger (brazilian) and i’ve a 74% of chance of getting into this university according to an estimate of what is required and simulations, and I wanted to know if this is a good option, I don't know the course yet, I wanted recommendations
And no, I'm not Catholic
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well!
I write this post here because I'm totally desperate. I'm a French student at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, and I have a UX project on the website "Conservatoire de l'Air et de l'Espace." It's a French conservatory that restores, preserves, and shares information about aviation, with a strong focus on aviation history. I need to collect as many answers as possible from aviation enthusiasts, people who work in the military, etc.
For now, I don't have many answers, which is why I'm here. International answers are so needed in this project, so that's why!
If you wish to help me, you can answer my quick survey, which can be completed in 5 minutes!
Thank you again for your support and your help!!
