Couple of premises. I have rusty English, little money, am 24 years old and live in Italy.
I would like to gather some opinions about the feasibility and overall idea of buying an used unimog to later modify so that I can use it either as an off road camper and as an agricultural machine for doing alone jobs to restore some kind of property near Nort Italy's mountains.
Mainly, other than money, i am worried about the emissions regulations and was wondering if something like an engine swap would allow me to easily comply.
Then it is not clear to me if there are some kind of sells of used equipment in or near Italy.
Also the general aftermarket for parts and if there are easily found compatible ones.
Also some general feedback about the involvement needed to restore a used machine of this kind.
I know well that these are really general requests and hope this is the right place, but anyway. I would like to get one of these and spend my time getting it to be the thing I am envisioning.
Thanks in advance :)
Visiting my gram this weekend and this guy rolls up. Had a forklift attachment on the back.
Hello, I don’t own a Unimog, but I like my hobby RC scale one so much, that I came here to see the real ones. Best regards.
So we found what was making the noise. Turns out one of the plates around the wheel got loose, bent and ended up catching the wheel. 🤦♂️
Hi All, I’m reviving my old Unimog 404 that has been sitting for about 7 years. I moved it for the first time today and I’m getting loud disturbing cracks from the right wheel side. Anyone has an idea what it could be?
A few weeks ago while driving through the Mexican mountains we came across a pickup truck that had crashed off the road. Luckily no one had been hurt, but they’d been there for 4 hours already and were unable to recover their truck. Watch this video to find out whether we can use her winch to pull them out of the hole they’re in……..
Saw this and really wanted to quit my job and go with the couple driving it to wherever they were going.
But in all seriousness, could a U3000 Doka be a good soccer mobile/occasional grocery getter if I only use it two or three times a week?
Here's a video of my 411 helping to get a fall risk tree off of a branch holding it.
I'm looking for a buying guide for an 1300L, where are the usual weak points?
I already heard the portal axle and the gear set in it is an issue in the Army version of the Unimog, when not maintained properly, also the sealing of this ball joints (? I'm missing the translation here) on the axle.
Is there more 1300L specific that is prone to wear or needs frequent care, maintenance or checks?
just got her and don’t know a whole lot about them. i have literally no idea how it broke. possibly in transit. it says use brake fluid on the cap. brakes seem to work fine though. any help would be appreciated so i know what to ask my mechanic.
Looking for people to share what category is needed on a UK driving licence to drive one of these. Thanks
I’m thinking about getting a union of as a car carrying rig, does anyone have experience with lowering one? When I say lower I don’t mean like slammed but like about the ride height of 3500 or larger pickup
South african firetruck
I'm looking at purchasing a 87' U1300L that's registered and titled on the east coast US. Does anyone here have a mog registered in WA and can provide any insight. Did you run into any issues? It's an ex German army vehicle but has been registered and titled in the states for several years. Any advice would be most appreciated.
I have a friend, cash buyer, looking for a good Ag spec unimog for farm operations.
Let me know what you have.
Found the kitchen aid of trucks.
My husband bought a 1963 404 and he is wondering if anyone knows what the original seat covers are made of so he can look at restoring them.
He took the innards out yesterday and is wanting to fix the rusty springs and clean up the seat covers before re stuffing (what would that be with? lol )
But we can’t seem to find what the material is made of to be able to clean it without damaging it.
Thanks if anyone else knows!
