Hi everyone,

We are aware that you have chosen to close your community at this time. Mods have a right to take a break from moderating, or decide that you don’t want to be a mod anymore. But active communities are relied upon by thousands or even millions of users, and we have a duty to keep these spaces active.

Subreddits belong to the community of users who come to them for support and conversation. Moderators are stewards of these spaces and in a position of trust. Redditors rely on these spaces for information, support, entertainment, and connection.

Our goal here is to ensure that existing mod teams establish a path forward to make sure your subreddit is available for the community that has made its home here. If you are willing to reopen and maintain the community, please take steps to begin that process. Many communities have chosen to go restricted for a period of time before becoming fully open, to avoid a flood of traffic.

If this community remains private, we will reach out soon with information on what next steps will take place.

In accordance to this we have a duty to keep this space active, so I guess our community of bots needs to keep posting (since that's the extent of the posts these past two years).

I'm sure you all missed our regular exchange in this subreddit a lot over the last week and can't wait to report some more spam posts :D

Since this subreddit belongs to the community it's up to you what you want to do with this, as your .. uhm .. steward, I'm up for anything.

You've hopefully heard it all before from other subreddits, so I'll keep it brief :)

In protest of the Reddit API pricing changes the sub will go private (meaning you can't browse the sub) on the 12th and at least till the 14th.

Since I'll be doing this manually, the times might not sync up quite right with other, bigger subs.

The sub was banned in ~January/Febuary due to being unmoderated. /u/Yersinia_Pesti5 and I have appealed to the reddit admins to get this reversed last month, and yesterday we were able to reopen the sub.
To ensure that you all have a good time in here we've put up some basic rules, that I think everyone can agree on.
As far as I'm aware, the sub originally was only intended for content relating to Ulm in strategy games (most made by Paradox Interactive, prominently EU4) but over the years there have been quite a few non-game related Ulm posts. We think these can also co-exist here. Ultimately it's you who decide, whether or not a post fits into this sub.

One important thing we want to address is the question, whether or not to keep this sub NSFW. On the one side we agree it is funny and thus would like it to stay this way (Ulm is also very sexy.). On the other hand it also seems to cause some confusion as to the purpose of this sub. We would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

The Dominions Series Of Games Also Has Ulm, but its completely different from real life Ulm. But hey it is still called Ulm, and is German, but thats about as close to real life Ulm as Dominions Ulm gets.

Hello there. I was actually born and raised in Ulm, headed there today and this sub is hilarious. Thought I'd share this Ulm fact with you: Ulm has one of the highest "bars per citizen" ratios in Germany.

Also Ulm has a lot of forts that are partially connected with one another. I did a lot of stuff in those forts. You can't conquer Ulm.
