Kinda have some enthusiasm about proofs and think that 341 can be interest but if I do that I'll not have any coursework in differential equations basically, which I also think could be interesting, any engineering or math major to give an opinion?
I’m probably going to go to “GreenRX” in Madison to get a cart… do they care about f@kes? Does anyone know places I can get carts that don’t care about out f@ke ID’s?
Considering taking the class, the Madgrades for it look pretty good just wondering if anyone has taken it and can elaborate a little on the structure/content and the difficulty of the class.
Hello, I am trying to prepare for the second midterm, but the instructor provides not extra study material. If you've taken the course and have any practice material for exam 2, please lmk.
hi, i'm a current uw-madison student. if anyone is going to billie eilish's nov 13 concert in chicago and has space in their car, i'd be happy to chip in for gas/parking/whatever to carpool 🫡
hi! basically the title. my first and second choice major is provided by L&S but I might want to switch to a CALS major. Whats the process? How long does it usually take for them to process your application again once you start attending UW Madison?
For example, if people tell me math 320 is brutal then I might opt to take the equivalent course at my current school before transferring. Likewise if any of them are relatively easy (at least relative to other first/second year engineering courses) that would also be good to know. I expect the transition from CC to be challenging at first regardless of classes, so any and all information on the classes I mentioned would be greatly appreciated to help plan strategically. Everything I listed has an equivalent course at my current school (which I've confirmed transfer as such) so I have plenty of options to consider.
Thanks in advance, all
Is anyone taking ECE 454 by Prof. Joshua this semester??
Could anyone who has taken this class share their experience with it? Was it easy, were their exams or essays and how was the difficulty? Any info would be appreciated. I’m trying to decide on a core class for a global health certificate
Can anybody guide me 3 credit easy social science classes, I am freaking tired of exams.
I'm looking for someone interested in subletting my private room in a house this upcoming spring and/or summer semester! I live in bedroom #2 on the blueprint, which is very spacious.
I live with 4 great and friendly roommates (Senior girls), and share a bathroom with 2 of them. They regularly plan movie/reality TV watch nights, trips out (apple orchard, movies, concerts), birthday parties, and are really great friends!
Our house is in a great location on W Wilson St, about a 20-minute walk from campus, a 10-minute walk to the Capitol building (great for farmer's markets and State St), and less than a 5-minute walk from beautiful public lakeside trails. It is also near the C/38 bus routes that take you directly to campus if you don't want to walk! There is also parking behind the house if you have a car.
My usual rent is $700/month, but I am more than happy to cover $100 each month for the remainder of the lease, making rent $600 + utilities.
Note: I will be completely moving out after this fall semester including my own furniture and personal belongings, so you will be able to move into your own space for the duration of the lease! Since we are all seniors, we will not be renewing the lease for the 25/26 term.
Please contact me if interested: dhwilson2@wisc.edu or pm me!
I applied to UW Madison for the spring 2025 semester. Anyone know when we would hear back. I just like want to start planning my next semester and idk what to do or if i even got in. I meet all the transfer admission requirements aswell. THANKS 🫶🫶
Anyone taking cs 639 Data Management for Data Science this semester with Prof Meena Syamkumar? How’s the workload and experience so far? Plan to take it next semester, appreciate any advice and suggestions!
Looking for a half or full race bib!😁😁
hi! I'm a senior who's applied EA to the molecular and cell biology major! But recently I've been thinking about how I might have overlooked the genetics and genomics major. I've heard that CALS is a lot better for research, focuses more on science and math classes, is easier to get on the dean's list, and offers more scholarships while L&S does not. Currently I've been interested in bioremediation, gene-environment interactions and translational research, and hope to do research in those fields in the future. But im pretty sure I'll find more interests once I actually go to college lol. So to all the molecular & cell biology and genetics & genomics majors, how has your experience been? Do you think molecular and cell bio is better in terms of broader job prospects and more flexible in terms of exploring different fields in biology? And if I did do molecular and cell biology, would I still be able to get research opportunities in genomics related fields?
Since these majors are offered by different schools (CALS and L&S), would I have to request for a change in major? Or would it be okay to do that once I decide to attend UW Madison? And does requesting for a change in major once I attend UW Madison cause me to lose out on any opportunities or ability to attend any events or info sessions that only CALS or L&S majors can attend? I'm still not sure about changing my major so I wanted to know what the process would be like.
edit: are all the breadth and depth courses required in genomics and genetics major? and are admissions based on school?
Hi! I applied as a spring transfer to UW Madison this year and am constantly refreshing my emails daily to see if I got an email from the admissions office. I know they say that you will find out on or before December 31st but I have to imagine you find out earlier than that. Does anybody know the exact day you find out? Or at least a time frame. Thank you!
Hi, some friends and I want to play sand volleyball on the courts near Dejope. To play there do you need to reserve the court in advance or can you just show up and play? Thanks!
Hi everyone, I’m a new student this year. I saw recommendations for Wendt Commons as a study spot, so I checked it out today, but I’m not sure how the space works. There seem to be a lot of empty rooms, but I’m not sure if I can just go in to study. I looked at older reviews, but they’re all from 5-10 years ago. Does anyone know how it works now? Thanks!
Does anyone know if these classes were curved below a 93 for an A in the past? If so does anyone know what the cutoffs were?
If you have or are currently taking a master’s degree, without scholarship, aid or parental financial support per se as an international student, how did you manage to pay off all your master’s fees until graduation?
I’d like to hear some insights and stories. I am a future international student considering to apply for MS in Data Analytics with my own finances, having only about two years of work experience so far and a very minimal wage.
Any opinion and insight is welcome, you may reference how you receive your aid if any, but I’m keen to hear responses towards individual financial support, so please note that.
Thanks!
I’m a freshman here and I was wondering if there is a club or group for people interested in anime and webnovels, or even regular fantasy novels. I find it hard to meet people interested in these things.
Hello all! I'm a high school senior from Florida that has dreamed of going to Wisconsin for years. I have family up there and love the opportunities it gives in nuclear science.
I'm confident I can get in, but paying for it is the big issue.
I've been hoping for the Mercile J. Lee Scholarship program, but the more I look into it, the less confident I get. Only 100-200 admitted students get it per year. Beyond that program, it seems there's really not much out there for OOS applicants.
Does anyone have any info on some other similar programs Madison might offer? Or if any of y'all were in similar situations, what route did you take? Thank you for your help!
Do any of the university fitness facilities have a sauna?
I’m planning on enrolling in the ochem “bootcamp” at one of the other UW campuses, but I also want to take physics this summer. If I do the bootcamp will it overlap with the normal summer term courses? Does anyone have experience with this?
