Hello!
This subreddit is now closed for business.
Why?
It was created as a temporary space until United Soccer League fully unveiled their new branding as a whole and for this league. In order to match that branding more closely we're moving all operations to r/USL1. If you've been directed here by mistake we apologize! Please send us a Mod Mail message about how you found this subreddit so we can go and get it fixed.
Thank you for visiting us and we can't wait to see you over at r/USL1!
Hi everyone. I would like to start by saying please forgive my ignorance as I'm new to learning about American soccer (I'm from England so it's football over here). So, this is going to sound a bit random but I was wondering if one of you could explain to me how teams get promoted into D2 all the way up to the MLS? Am I right in thinking that leagues are split into Eastern and Western divisions? Just finding it all a bit confusing!
Hello everyone, hope you're having a fantastic Friday!
As some of you may know, r/USL1 has been under construction since the release of the new league structure and branding. To be easier to find and more in line with that structure we're moving all r/USLD3 operations to r/USL1.
All users here are encouraged to subscribe to this new subreddit and submit new content about the league and its teams over on the new subreddit from now on.
What's gonna happen to r/USLD3? As of the moment, nothing. Once January 1, 2019 rolls around however we will lock down the subreddit and make a new mod announcement directing anyone else finding this old subreddit to the new one. Why? Because keeping the community whole and is very important to us, and to the health of the community. Discussion split between two subreddits helps no one.
We look forward to seeing you over at the new subreddit and thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Happy Friday, everyone!
Now that we have our league set for 2019, hopefully we can get some more conversations going on to build up our sub. Iβm curious what everyone thinks about how attendance will be for our first season. Hereβs my predictions, which are probably way off for some teams. I tried to be fairly conservative, but I think it being the first pro season for several clubs could boost attendance.
Tormenta-3k-I think this will increase significantly in 2020 with the new stadium which will hold 5k. Iβm worried a bit about the season ticket prices though and think they could hurt. But the $1 for students could make up for it. Tormenta has done a good job marketing and has averaged right at 2k for PDL just a season ago.
Greenville-2,800
Madison-3,800-I think Madison does well in this league.
Chattanooga RWSC-1,500. Iβm just not sure how the civil war situation works out, especially in year one.
OCSC2-800
Richmond Kickers-3,500-I think the drop might hurt them a bit, but still think they are one of the attendance leaders.
TFC-800
Lansing-3k
Tuscan-2000-honestly, no idea about this team
FCD2-1500-Probably a bit high, but FCD usually has some exciting young players.
