Going trough some old coins I found this. The date is doubled but nothing else on obverse seems to be doubled. Is this worth saving or getting graded even though not the Classic Double die??

Penny? Or? I got this in a grab bag of older US Coins. I’m new to coin collecting. What do you guys think it is? Is it worth anything? Images is of front and back and is the size and color of a penny. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey everyone, not sure if this is the right place to post this but I came across a penny from 2000 (D) that had a thick, silver colored rim. The rim is wider than the rest of the coin, and almost feels like a nickel’s rim. Has anyone seen something like this before?

US Quarters

Hello All, I have been collecting US State Quarters for a few years. I like the idea of capturing them in the wild (Pokémon Go style). It has been a long while, maybe a year, sense I found one I needed. I am looking for someone willing to trade - or to just send me - quarters. I am missing the following Quarters:

District of Columbia - P (mint mark) Puerto Rico - P U.S. Virgin Island - P Northern Mariana Island - P

I am willing to pay postage and $.25 or trade other Quarters I might have.

Thanks - Have a great day.

Tidy house

Has anyone seen any early tidy house coins? I just ran into a post on instagram, and these coins are beautiful. Typically Morgan dollars, or Kennedy halves with beautiful natural toning. And some of them even have the original envelopes and paperwork! Definately one of my next purchases.

Warning for the Presidential Dollars Whitman Coin Folders

I just bought my first rolls of $1 coins today, and I was happily going through and trying to collect the presidents. Three rolls, and I already have a dozen presidents. Woohoo!

Except, as I was tracking these on my Numista account, I discovered that there are four main variants of each of the coins, based on the edge lettering. They are:

  • P mint mark, position A (edge lettering upside down when the president's face is up)

  • P mint mark, position B (edge lettering right-side-up when the president's face is up)

  • D mint mark, position A (edge lettering upside down when the president's face is up)

  • D mint mark, position B (edge lettering right-side-up when the president's face is up)

I bring this up because each Whitman folder only has one slot for each president. So if you're trying to collect all variants and put them into folders, you'll need 4 Whitman folders.
