hey, so the housing portal opens up on Saturday and my friends and I are considering going to Arrington. If you could give me your honest opinions of it that would be greatly appreciatedšš½
I plan on moving to eagle next semester, has anyone stayed in a single room there? Are they smaller? What's the deal?
I'm a freshman, how can I get more scholarships next year? Has my time passed? I have a 3.9 GPA, I'm first gen, and I have the maximum FAFSA financial need.
I didn't volunteer my first semester but I'm starting to volunteer this semester at Bigs in Schools and SPCA. How many hours a week should I aim for?
I'm also starting a club this semester. I really want to do all I can to get scholarships. I can only afford one more year of school without loans.
Has anyone gotten some good scholarships as an upperclassman?
Hey everyone, this is Joe, co-founder and CEO of Coursicle. We just launched a new feature that lets you keep track of your assignments on Coursicle, including automatic syncing of assignments from Canvas: https://imgur.com/a/p939bYp
We know not all professors are good about putting their assignments online so we thought it'd be helpful to have a centralized place where you can see all your assignments organized by class and when they're due, including the ones your professors don't post (you can add those manually to Coursicle): https://imgur.com/a/naP3xme
Here's a link to try it out: https://www.coursicle.com/umw/?s=reddit
It's a very new product, so we'd love any feedback you have. We'd like to know what we'd need to change about the task feature that would get you to use it on a daily basis. All Reddit users who give it a try and comment below with feedback will get a free semester of premium. Thank you!

Sorry to bother and spam but if anyone can take this AP research questionnaire on how being undecided in college can affect career change, it would mean a lot and be helpful for me to gain data. Please share it out to your classmates and peers and complete it. Thank you!
Hi, I would like to know if there are any alumni willing to refer me for a fee waiver :)
It would be great if you could help me, I can pass my info by dm so they can send the corre.
Thanks in advance
Hi everyone,
Has any UMW student received an email of being a Personal Assistant/Bookeeperā? The job is remote and only 5-7 hours a week. There is a financial sum that seems too good to be true and it came from a valid UMW email (mail.umw.edu). So I wanted to know if anyone has applied to it and received a rapid response of congratulating you on getting the job? Share you thoughts as I think other UMW students should be made aware of this.
Hi everyone, I got accepted into UMW today as a psych major pre law. I also got the Eagle scholarship of $3,000, and I'm in state so the tuition is looking pretty cheap/affordable.
If you're a current student or alum, what can you tell me about the school? Pros, cons, anything helps! I just want to get to know more about the campus culture because I can't find much online.
Thank you all in advance!
Weird question, but can someone tell me what the hell a digitally intensive course is lol??? I'm in high school and need to list them for a project, but there's nothing listed on their website for DI and DGP and was hoping someone could drop a name for each please š
Hi everyone, would love to hear about anyones experience as an MBA student or alumni. Thank you!
anyone had Stahlman for psyc305 or any other class? what was ur experience haven't heard good things abt him so I'm lkey kinda scared
I am not a partier.
I just transferred here this fall semester, and I absolutely hate it here. I have made zero friends, and I am not exaggerating. My last school everyone was friendly, and it was easy to talk to anyone. I made a whole bunch of friends, but had to leave because of financial reasons. Everyone here seems bothered if you talk to them for longer than a minute, or like they are disgusted with your presence. Don't get me wrong I love the academics and my professors are amazing, but the students suck ass. There are no parties, and nothing to do downtown if you aren't 21, and there is no community at this school. I guess I am just mourning my old college life. I tried to hold out for the end of the semester, but here we are!
i'm a senior in hs and like 95% sure that im gonna go to umw in the fall since i already got accepted, but im wondering what the party scene is like? i know theres no greek like but is there anything else. i know it shouldn't be that important to me but it is cuz i need to have fun and maintain my social life.
Hey guys, I just moved near fxbg and I am not sure what there is to do. I left all my friends and family up north for an IT engineering job down here. Where can I go to meet people and do fun stuff? Just turned 21 btw.
I noticed that there are no undergrad research course this year. Anyone know what's up with that?
How do you cope with the internet on campus? Do other people struggle as much as I do? My friends here say they don't have as many issues as I do, but I find that some buildings are just dead zones. Overall it's like fine, and residence halls have great WiFi for me but like eduroam and UMW connections suck.
Hello! My name is Sarah Silberman, I am a Criminology and Criminal Justice Doctoral Candidate at the University of Maryland who researches sexual violence, and I am currently recruiting for an interview study on sexual misconduct in academia. For IRB approval, please see see my department page here:Ā https://ccjs.umd.edu/gradprofile/silberman/sarah. The goal of this study is to better understand the impact of academic sexual misconduct on graduate students in the greater-Washington DC area. This study is seeking diverse voices on this topic, and I am hoping to speak with people who are currently in academia, those who are planning on leaving, and those who have already left.
If you or someone you know who experienced academic sexual misconduct: 1) as a graduate student 2) in the greater-Washington DC area 3) between 2011 and now and 4) is interested in participating in a 1.5 - 2 hour interview, please fill out the interest form here: tinyurl.com/asmneardc
I applied early admission for November 15th a few weeks ago. Iām just wondering if anyone ever got their decision before the deadline or how long after it took them. Thanks!
Iām a senior in HS Iāve gotten some pretty conflicting opinions about this uni that has me confused some saying the people are weird and other reasons itās bad while others say the Schools great the campus looks pretty, the tuition promise would probably save me financially with my financial problems, and Iāve heard itās pretty accepting for lgbt which is good but the reviews are so vastly different from people I asked so I want to know some peoples honest opinions about this school And one more thing if thereās any trans students here as well could you tell me about youāre experience
Edit: one more thing I forgot to add how are the dorms there I havenāt found many good pictures
Anyone on campus want to buy?

Hi, guys, I'm setting up an interview for a student employment position (which is supposed to reduce $1250 off what I need to pay) but I'm confused on a few things - when receiving the pay, do you give the allotted amount each semester or at the end of the year? Where do you pay it to? Etc... I'm so lost lmfao ššš and the FAQ on the site is no help.
Iām having trouble getting into my locker at the post office. Are these things just locked to the public from now on or is this just a Labor Day weekend thing?
What all is there to do on campus for freshman? Do we get to use the gym for free?
Heyo
Next year I plan on transferring to UMW and was interested in majoring in historic preservation! I've heard that UMW has a fantastic program, so I just wanted to know if anyone here has any experience studying H.P. at the school and what it is like, or if there are any alumni that can share what their experience post graduation looks like in the world of historic preservation. I plan on obtaining the GIS certificate as well because GIS seems super interesting, and also seems like it is used quite a bit in historic preservation, so if anyone has any insight on that or if they've gone into the GIS field after following a similar route, I'd love to hear. Thanks!
Specifically looking for a easy speaking intensive class in the major of Business Admin and how are the online speaking intensive classes?
So itās my first year as an upperclassman and Iāll be situated in Arrington Hall. If anyone has lived in that building, what are some good essentials to buy so I can be prepared for the school year? Iāve never lived on a campus before and want to make sure Iām ready before the end of August.
Hiya, I'll be starting at UMW this fall and was hoping to get some recommendations for some good off-campus dining spots. I've heard the farmers market is popular but would appreciate a few more suggestions. Also, I was wondering about the policy on food delivery services like DoorDash. I've heard it wasn't allowed this year at some colleges due to security concernsāis that the case here as well?
