If you are moving onto campus for the first time in the spring semester, when do you find out what dorm you’re assigned to?
Student went to Avery Point for fall 2024 and is part of the Springs to Storrs (one semester at regional campus or study abroad ) program
Early voting happening today and Sunday from 10-6 upstairs in the bookstore. There is no early voting on Monday. You can same day register this weekend at the bookstore. On Tuesday (Election Day) you will have to go to the Mansfield Town Hall if you need to do same day registration or switching CT towns where you are registered.
OK just to explain (and please dont make fun) but i early decisioned to the Stamford campus on uconn. i actually really want to go there because i like the campus and i really wanna go there for a year or two before transferring to storrs
is it hard to get into the Stamford campus (or i should stop panicing)(bc ik its a 92 or 76% acceptance rate)
alternatively, do they really care if I’m actually a guest of a uconn student or not?
I'm a senior MCB student. Since last Spring I've been trying to get into an MCB lab course, you need one to graduate. I've completed all my major requirements and my gen eds but can't graduate until I have that course. Immediately when my registration portal opened I tried to get into an MCB lab course. There was only 2 or 3 of them being offered and they all required permission numbers. I emailed all the professors and for one reason or another they said I couldn't take it because I'm not an honors student or because the waitlist is full and they already have a waitlist full of MCB seniors in the same position as me.
I got accepted to a clinical research internship for the Spring. There are courses in the lab requirement called "Undergraduate research" and "Clinical research". The clinical research class involves going to Hartford Hospital and collecting data, pretty much the exact same thing I'm doing for my internship. However, I was told I can't get credit for it because I need to take MCB 3100 as a pre-req. And of course, MCB 3100 is an honors only course.
So, UConn wants me to delay my graduation and push back all my plans by an entire year, even though I'm only 1 course off from graduation just so I can take 1 course that they seldom offer. Is this not the biggest scam ever? What can I do in this situation? It seems my only other option at this point is to come up with an individualized major. I've worked so hard for MCB all this time and it seems ridiculous that I can't graduate with my major because UConn neglects MCB students by not offering the courses their students require to graduate.
What are the easiest ca 4 classes or some good professors
Are there any easy classes to take ( for gpa boosters ) for Stamford ? Or any easy elective classes
Course selection time🔥
Whats good chat? What do yall think about taking 3666(Intro to Computer Architecture), 3500(Algorithms and Complexity) and 3140(Cybersecurity Lab) in one semester
Who stole my candy bowl. It’s purple with little Halloween designs on it. Genuinely what’s wrong with you. You’re the reason we can’t have nice things. At our big age. I wouldn’t even care if you took all the candy and shit, but you took the bowl too? What the fuck is wrong with you? At least give the bowl back man. You know where you took it from. Give it back.
Any one need a roommate for the spring semester?
What is the easiest or best philosophy professor at UConn I want to pick a good class with a good professor to get an A
does anyone know any good professors for this class? everyone i look up says they’re horrible
Anyone looking to share a 2b 1b at the den for spring semester , it would be roughly 1200-1300/m until July. I also have a dog (chiweenie)
What is the format of Feminism in the Arts with Ariana Codr Hybird Limited?
It only shows the "meet times" for lectures but shows they are online. I am assuming the lectures are asynchronous so you do not have to actually meet at those times, and the discussions are in person? But it does not yet show a time/day for the discussion.
Also, thoughts on the difficulty of this class?
If you enjoy trivia, come out to The Spot Bar and Grill in Tolland (200 Merrow Road - that's only 12 minutes from campus!). This SUNDAY NOV 3 at 5:30pm! There is no entry fee. Teams are limited to 5 players each.
I’m planning to go to the game tomorrow but I won’t be there til at least 7-7:30. I am hoping to avoid the 20$ parking since I can’t tailgate, so I’m wondering if anyone knows when they stop charging for parking during games.
Does anyone else notices how bad the ethernet is this year, last year it was 300-600MBps. Does anyone else has the same problem??? trying to download games but it is taking too long.
does anyone have a ticket they’re willing to part with for the men’s hockey game on sunday
Has anyone been taught by Zachary Ritchey for physics 2? Debating between taking Guthrie’s class that ends at 6:35 or Ritchey’s which ends at 2:15. For context I am a commuter student so am worried the drive will be a lot, specifically during the winter.
Hey everyone, I’m a guy in my early 20s, and I’m reaching out for some advice. I just started a new program this year, and I’m experiencing something that’s never happened to me before. There’s a colleague of mine who’s slightly older than me, very attractive, and charismatic. She’s also Latina, which somehow adds to the whole thing, and I’m finding myself slightly drawn to her.
For context, I’ve been in a committed relationship for over a year, and cheating or anything like that isn’t at all my intention. I have a lot of respect for her who’s also in a long-term relationship, and I’d never want to do anything to disrupt that. I’m just caught off guard by these random feelings, and I don’t know if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced this.
I’ve been keeping things very professional—I barely speak to her unless it’s necessary, and I’m not acting on anything at all. I’m just hoping to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar spot or has advice on how to work through this. How do you handle or move past these kinds of feelings? Thanks in advance!
