The COSC 121 final is with Mostafa Mohamed, I'm pretty unsure about what to prioritize for it. Is there a lot about linked list/array list implementation? Sorting, like the specific code for it? If anyone has taken it, I'd appreciate knowing what the final mostly focuses on (I'm running out of room on my cheat sheet lol)
I thought that half the benefit to multiple choice exams is that you put them in a scanner and they get auto-marked. I'm just curious as to how it takes 2+ weeks to mark them. Is it a shortage of machines? Or something else? It's just funny to get long answer exams back in less time than MC ones.
I was wondering if anyone knew what the percent ranges were for corresponding letter grades Iāve been going off the ranges from a hist syllabus but donāt know if that translates to sci courses, 0-49 F range, 50-59 D to C- range, 60-67 C range, 68-79 B range, and 80-100 A range. Much appreciated if someone could confirm thx
hi everyone! I applied to a few law schools for next September and I'm set to graduate this upcoming June, however if I do not get into somewhere I would like to go, I'd like to get complete a minor to boost my GPA (have already completed 3/10 necessary classes)
would I be able to simply register into those courses the following year or would i have to reapply to UBC? (also am I able to defer my graduation one year after applying for it if things do not work out or should I wait to apply until I'm sure I want to graduate?) just looking for some guidance!
Hello Iām a fourth year BIOC student. Iām in a bit of a dilemma Iām not sure whether to take either course. Iām pretty good in both subjects but Iām just wondering if anyone has some intel on which is easiest/better. Also if anyone has some easy upper level science electives they recommend Thank you!!
Does anyone know why a security guard entered the middle of the final exam to take a girl out of the classroom?
Does anyone else just get fed up with this group of guys always talking at full volume? They sit in the same area of the Library on the 2nd floor. Back corner. They spread thier shit out like it's thier bedroom.
PSA: Library 2nd floor is suppose to be for quiet study. There is more than enough space for then to study anywhere else.
Guys if your reading this. Please shut the fuck up.
Hey guys! First year science major here! I was wondering what easy classes I can take next semester as a GPA booster? They can be science or non science related. Iām pretty interested in languages and history if that helps. šš
Thanks!
Hey everyone, I just wanted to see if anyone else has had similar run-ins with this guy Iāve seen around campus because Iām starting to feel pretty uneasy about it.
Heās skinny, about 5ā9ā, has short brown hair, and thereās something kind of disorganized about the way he looksāhis speech is slurred, his eyes seem a bit unfocused, and walks weird?
Iāve had a couple of uncomfortable interactions with him. He comes up to me saying some flirty things and he gets frustrated if I donāt respond. One time he even followed me after seeing me at the bus stop, and when I didnāt take the bus, he lingered outside until the very last second, which really creeped me out. Iāve also seen him drinking fireball in the middle of the day and picking up joint butts to smoke. Iāve noticed him talking to other girls in that same flirty, uncomfortable way, so it feels like Iām not the only one he approaches.
Iām wondering if anyone else has dealt with him or had similar experiences? I want to make sure this doesnāt get ignored because itās starting to feel like a pattern.
If youāve seen him or have any advice, Iād really appreciate hearing about it.
anyone who has taken this exam with him, any tips? is his question style similar to his midterm, tmat questions or the practice final? thanks and best of luck with any exam ahead!
Hey guys I think I left my jacket on campus I believe I left it in lib 303 or a COMMONS FLOOR 1 Study room can anyone let me know if theyāve seen it! Please il freeze to death otherwise! And I really canāt buy a new jacket! Also wondering if there were any lost and founds where it might have ended up?
Where can I change coins to cash on Campus?
What are people doing to study for the psyo 335 final? It seems straightforward with the 120 mcq questions, but I also don't want to be surprised when I open the exam. I did decent on both the midterms. So far, I have been looking at quizlets and going over lecture slides. Any quizlet suggestions or other study tips?
I forgot what the professor said where would he test us on, can anyone help? Did he mentioned Taylor series and power series will not be on the test?
I've been accepted into UBCO, UBCV, and SFU, and all have their pros and cons. UBCO is roughly jus tas expensive on their cost calculator so I am not going to be considering cost in this.
I am going into computer science and see UBCV shit on UBCO all the time but it seems ignorant and I've seen from students that have went for both, CS is the same or better because there's less students at UBCO but basically the exact same teaching, is this correct? I currently live in BC right now, and if any of y'all could share your personal experience, such as prices and things around the campus, opportunities for CS, co-op info, anything at all about UBCO compared to UBCV, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Hi there! does anyone know if he mentioned that the final is more focused on content post midterm?
are you guys able to see the videos/media gallery for 211? For me it says thereās an unsupported protocol. The final is tomorrow iām cookedš

It's a great deal, I wouldn't be selling it if I wasn't going back to Calgary for Winter Term 2.
DM if ur interested. I can an meet u somewhere on campus or at the DQ anytime this week.
I got into UBCO first as that was my first option for bachelor of science, I requested the admission office to give me a decision for my second option which was the Vancouver campus and I got into the Vancouver campus as well. But now i am confused which one to accept, bcz i do not like crowds or large spaces and UBCV is really large compared to UBCO,I like small classroom sizes but when it comes to getting my bachelors done, should i choose UBCV or UBCO?
What do you do in the discussion sections?
hello, i am wanting to take math221 (matrix algebra) as an elective because i enjoy math (however i am not naturally good at it, so it takes some time to understand concepts). i was wondering if this course is too hard for an elective? i took math101 and i understood the concepts quite well after studying them for ~4 hours (per topic) or so (including sequence and series). basically, i am trying to say i enjoy math but the understanding doesn't come to me naturally, i have to work for it. so, with that in mind, would it be a hard elective?
also, i am taking pchem, ochem, and immunology alongside psych230. please let me know if this is possible or if i should spare myself.
What should i prioritize studying for this test? I feel like we did barely any practice on the last few topics (separable differential equations, Taylor series) in class.
So genuinely what the fuck was that
Why was like 20% of the content on there not covered or even MENTIONED in class
Like how were we supposed to know rexp was even a function??
Greeting everyone
Kinda random question what people do for fun during the winter break or in general are there any events during that period??
Anybody else having issues applying for graduation on Workday? I keep getting an error saying "Error - Expected Completion Date (Row 1 Column 4)The selected expected completion date doesn't fall within an academic period available for completion." No matter what date I choose it won't let me submit. Thanks
Hi everyone,I got my admission letter to UBC and I am a transfer student, they have mentioned that 53 out of 60 of my credits from my previous school are transferable,so I was wondering how this would effect my GPA ,I have B in 2 courses which i donāt want to transfer if it effects my overall GPA at UBC or do they not look at the transfer GPA .I want to apply to UBC med school eventually so will this effect my overall gpa or does med school also not look at the transfer GPA
Iām graduating in the spring with a science degree and I have to take an elective in second semester. Iāve satisfied all my degree requirements so this elective can be from any faculty or year level, and Iām looking for an easy ish course with a low workload (maybe just a couple of exams or a term project) and ideally somewhat interesting/useful content.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hiii does anyone know if he mentioned that the final is more focused on content post midterm?
I am in the process of applying and wanted to know peoples experiences of living on campus / being in the program as I am a little anxious about the whole thing. Tell me everything you can!
im planning to take DATA 407 next term, what should i expect from this class (is it hard, and is there a project for this class, or anything really)
ps: im totally not not a data science student at all im just a microbiology student with an interest in data science
