I am registering for classes for Mechanics of Materials and have gone back and forth on two instructors. I wasn't able to get Coley for an instructor. Would you recommend Lin or Schneider?
Besides Math and Computer Science, are there any minors that could be obtained with 1 or 2 extra courses from the CPE major?
Hi, I am taking Chronis’ Honors Physics 1 class next semester. I’ve heard so many horror stories and I am looking for advice on how be successful in his class and any additional tools/materials you used if you took his class
Hi, I was supposed to have multiple letters delivered to me including my ballot. They were all mailed at the beginning of the month and all of them have said they are delivered to the mail room, does anyone know when I should expect to get my mail by, especially my ballot?
Update: Ballot was delivered today! It was labeled as a package, thank you everyone for your help!
I am going to be a first year student for the fall of 2025. I recived a letter today saying I had already been accepted into the honors college even though I never finished my application to the honors college. Has this happened to anyone else and was this supposed to happen or was it a mistake?
Are charger360 reports anonymous? My roommate has been more depressed and hostile recently, which is negatively affecting the rest of my dorm, but I am also worried for her and think she needs to get help from a professional.
I got this news as I am one of the few MPA students.
Unfortunately, the Social Science and Humanities department has made the decision to sunset the MPA program, which essentially includes the whole master's department and program for the political science department. It's quite sad.
I thought I would post this as this obviously involves the school, but one of my biggest goals was to inform people, since I'm quite aware plenty of people post here about possibly coming to UAH. Sadly, this sunsetting means that the 2024-2025 academic year, as in this year, will be the final year in which the school takes new students (I having been one of them) for the MPA program; with fall 2024 indeed being the final semester in which this has taken place, as there will obviously be no new admissions taken for the spring 2025 semester for this program.
Fortunately, people working in the political science department, like John Pottenger, should be helping people in my situation do what they can to get the needed credit hours to graduate with their degrees; since MPA programs, regardless of school, last two years anyway (so, in my case, I am set to graduate in 2026). But, from the way everything was sounding (note that the school hasn't officially announced the sunsetting of the program yet, this is something I just heard from professors I won't name; but given how the reason the department was planning this decision was because of very low enrollment numbers plus losing money, there's no reason to suspect that those above the people working in the humanities department would disapprove of a decision like this), it sounds like this program will indeed be dead after all after May 2026, when the 2025-2026 academic year ends.
In regards to my point about admissions, I would also like to mention that this means that UAH will now be one less school clearly in which you can find a MPA program, so you'll have to look at other schools to do so.
On one final note, I must honestly say that these trends in academia, especially related to the enrollment, are saddening to me... And perhaps more so, I worry what the consequences of them will be...
I am missing black JBL Vibe earbuds. I have no clue where they or at or where someone placed them all I know is they are missing. They are dead too. If you happen to find someone in the case, and that were dead please let me know on here!
You guys have a recommendation for calc III professor? Vadrevu, Angela Morgan, or Janice Burrows?
How much work outside of the lab do the aes labs take? How hard are the labs?
I got this email from my Spanish professor and I am in Intro to Spanish and was wondering if this an automated thing they do with the intro students every semester. For that "excellent performance" I have an 83 in that class.
I work full time and am taking all of my UAH classes online this year, I only come to campus on test weeks for the drop in tutoring (once every 2 or 3 weeks), and I don't want to pay $140 for a parking pass that I only use a few times a month. Does anyone have a way around this or does everyone just pay for the pass regardless of how often you use it?
Just wondering if there’s any Halloween events going on either this weekend or next? Doesn’t necessarily need to be UAH can just be Huntsville in general
Can anyone give some insight as to what this course is like? To be a bit more blunt I mean how much work/time would I have to put into the class to get a good grade.
Is this gonna be a weekly thing or is it only temporary ?
I been seeing alot of folks walking around in suits dresses and athlete wear
I’m thinking about dropping a class while taking student loans. This will be the first class I drop with loans. Does anyone know how much risk is associated with making such a move? I don’t want to drop out, but I have one of the highest averages in the class (in the 30s), and it seems like more than half the class has already dropped out.
I’ve been overloaded with my schedule and honestly have been unlucky with having a professor who doesn’t seem capable of breaking down material into digestible components, as if their lectures are for those who already understand the concepts being taught.
To add, they are a researcher who primarily works with very little interaction with people, and teaching is probably one of their biggest weaknesses.
I checked my portal just because, and saw the “congratulations, you have been admitted” status. Now what? will i receive a formal email telling me that I was accepted? Is possible merit given at that time as well? I think i qualify for the Honors College, would i be invited then as well? i know, so many noob questions. It’s just that UAH is at the top of my list for aerospace engineering. Thanks in Advanced!!
Hello! Are there any places that are quiet on campus and where I can close the door? I'd like to use the space for interviews and moderated tests. Preferably where I don't have to book ahead of time, but I'll also take a look at the booked options.
Thank you!
How life would be if the campus police didn’t take up 50% of the spots on the first floor (there’s only like 2 campus cops)
I’m a freshman commuter student looking to join a club. I was initially thinking about rushing, but ultimately decided not too.
I’ve been scrolling through charger connect for weeks now, and have narrowed down my search to 4 clubs: Fencing Club, Self Defense Club, Pickleball, and Table Tennis. I’m leaning more towards Self Defense and Table Tennis. However, I wanted to see if anyone else had anymore suggestions. Or if anyone has been (or currently is) in any of these specific clubs.
My primary goal is build some new friendships, and get more involved on campus.
Same as the last high school senior who posted here. Pretty much committed to UAH for the same reasons. I haven’t seen any posts from chemistry majors and I’m planning on majoring in biochem so I was wondering if it’s a difficult major or not. Thanks in advance
Really just what the title says. Gimme the deets. Good, bad, and ugly. For reference I am a senior in high school and I'm basically committed to going there now because I want to go to a school in state and Alabama is a party school, Auburn is too big, UAB is too medical, and UAH does big rocket stuff, so.. I like that!
Hello, I'm looking for off-campus housing that is in a safe area and close to campus. I found Encore MidCity apartments and wanted to ask the forum for comments on these apartments.
Thank you
For reference, I’m from Arkansas and don’t have a car. I just got admitted and I’m going to apply to honors college as well, but I heard some people don’t get housing. Would this be an issue for me?? Would be an incoming freshman.
I applied and sent my transcript through Parchment on the 7th. On Parchment, it says UAH has received my transcript, but on my Charger account, it still says "not received." How long does it normally take for them to update it?
