Planning a trip to Dubai for next year.
I am planning on staying at The Palm and getting full board at a resort. Therefore, I want to know the top golf courses nearby where I can play 18 holes and be back in time for lunch/dinner.
18th Hole, 547 yards
Super underrated course.
4 today I played 18 in just 3 hours.
I genuinely think they have the best kept greens in the country. No massive pitch marks like emirates. I will choose Al Zorah every day of the week. Can’t wait for the new club house.
This might be a bit bias because I always play well when I’m there.
I will be transiting Dubai in first week of November, I have 3 days. Thinking of doing Par 3s in Emirates Golf, Trump International and Montgomerie. How is weather around 4 pm ? Is it bearable for 9 holes? Cheers.
Just remember Golfers. If you have a credit card that earns Airmiles ME points, these can be spent on vouchers for: Egolfmegastore - golf equipment Spikeson - Troon based golf courses and lessons
Airmiles ME points are mostly earned using HSBC credit cards. But if you are buying booze at African & Eastern or buying electrical goods at SharafDG you can also earn points https://www.airmilesme.com/
(I have no affiliation with them, I discovered we had loads of points and bought some clubs in the Egolfmegastore during their sale = free set of irons!)
Hi everyone, I’m heading out to Dubai mid November to play a few rounds of golf. Normally I’d be booking a package with a TA but this time I have the ‘luxury’ of booking my own tee times as it’s not a direct golf trip (work).
The week I’m there is between the Yas/JGA DP World tour events so some times are limited, but is there anything I should be looking at for discounted tee times for that week?
Also anywhere you recommend? I’m playing Zorah/Yas and would like to get on the Creek course if possible.
TIA
I’m moving to Abu Dabhi soon. Looking to play midweek, 6-7 rounds a month. Are the memberships worth it ? What price range am I looking at for midweek in Abu Dabhi specifically ? Open to suggestions on cards as well :)
I can only speak for my own experience and yours may of course vary, but I'm interested to see whether anyone else is feeling frustrated by golf in the UAE right now.
When I joined my club years ago, it felt like a genuine community. There were regulars you'd always bump into and even the strangers you met were cool, friendly and many became friends who you'd see outside the course.
Nowadays, I don't get that feeling anymore. Golfing in Dubai (at least in my eyes) feels like it's made a rapid transition from a social and community-building activity to something that's now predominantly catering to the super rich.
Clubs are at capacity and are therefore charging whatever they like. My fees have gone up three consecutive years and am anticipating another jump when we get the dreaded letter from the memberships department in December.
Even those who manage to get to the front of the wait list are now slugged with ridiculous non-redeemable joining fees that are basically a large cash donation to the club. All of this contributes to slowly changing golf clubs from a community atmosphere to a more elitist environment, which is seldom a good thing.
Much of this attitude also carries on to the course. I've seen numerous members get verbally abusive to staff knowing the club won't do a thing. A club rep even gave a vague warning one day suggesting we don't approach/offend "certain members" ... (read into that what you will)
Overall I just feel pretty disenchanted and am at the point where I am not sure I will maintain my membership in 2025 (which I don't say lightly, as I know this means an end of playing golf on a regular basis).
The sad thing is, my club would quietly welcome this because they can replace me with someone far wealthier who will spend more and play less.
My club used to be a community. Now it feels like a collective of super wealthy individuals and as long as there is a wait list for memberships, nothing is going to change.
Anyone else feeling like this?
Seems like this free credit card could be a great addition for Abu Dhabi residents 👏
Anyone keen to join? I’d love to give this a go!
Are most courses cart only? Or can you walk some courses too
Extra 20% off on green fees andreai academy bookings for Dubai Golf courses (JGE, Emirates, Dubai Creek, Etc.) On the Viya app.
Just had an email about this, didn't know it existed.
Like the title suggests, I am looking for beginner’s golf lessons. I was looking into group lessons as I got 2/3 friends who are looking to learn together.
Can anyone suggests any good courses/packages in Dubai?
Is anyone looking for a playing partner for a round of golf tomorrow? Saturday 28 September?
😂 AI is improving for image generation, but clouds in the sky and two flags on the green are a bit odd!
What's your best attempt at AI images for Dubai Golf courses?
Hey Redditers - I’m looking for an awesome mid week or Friday morning golf deal in Dubai? I’ve played Tower Links RAK a few times now and looking for a change in scenery but not looking to spend 100s if not 1000s on a round. Any suggestions?
Hi folks,
I'm new to Dubai, I've a single digit hcp, and living near Dubai Hills mall.
I'm eager to find the best practice facilities available to non members?
It would need a driving range, good short game area (chipping green, putting greens), and somewhere to practice pitch shots.
Your usual friends at Meydan 😀
I'll be in Dubai from the 17th to the 19th, and then back again on the 30th - 2nd.
I'm thinking I'll most likely play Trump Intl while I'm there the first few days, looking for a solid option for the 2nd stint.
From what I've seen online, the Majilis course at Emirates, either of the Jumeirah or the Montgomerie are worth doing.
The first few days we're staying at Atlantis, then on the way back we're staying Downtown.
Any suggestions appreciated :)
I'm looking at getting some lessons to finally improve my swing/game. I know finding a good pro can be very hit and miss (pun intended) so does anyone have a quantifiable recommendation on a pro in Dubai for lessons? Gracias
Hi everyone, I have just moved to Abu Dhabi for 9 months and have been needing to buy new clubs, so I decided that I would do that here rather than bring my old ones with me when I came. If anyone has any recommendations on where I can go to get a full set of clubs that is relatively affordable that would be amazing, or if I should just try and find a set on Facebook marketplace. Thanks so much for your help!
Hole 16, Par 4, Oasis in the middle, how are you pairing this hole?
You can see the humidity in the air. Could definitely feel it.
Just wondering if there are any amateur tournaments in Dubai? I'm a 8 handicap and looking to play some tournaments for fun!
I want to get a pro to take me through the course and teach as we play through. Can you please recommend a club and or a pro that I can get in touch with? Apologies if the question doesn’t make sense. This is the best I could phrase it as not knowing the lingo or norms of the game.
Moving to Dubai at the end of this year from Canada. I play about 4 times a week. Was thinking about joining Dubai Hills. But I heard there are some credit cards you can get that allows you access to some courses.
What kind of credit cards do you have? Is it easy to book? Do you book through a different portal with less priority or how does it work?
Cheers!
